I would say he blames a lot on Woods without knowing what he is talking about for starters. He even says he doesn't know. But From the headline on, he is pointing the finger at Woods. Then he gets around to saying he is no Jim Kelly. He is a classless human being because he is not careful with his words and he uses his public voice in ways that can harm people for no good reason, because Bucky is lazy. I could write rings around him just by doing some work. I am not saying I am talented, or good, or even can spell very well. But I do my work and I would have work into what I wrote and I would not be careless and mean by insulting people for no good reason like those people are. And Josh Barnett you are no better if you have any say, how these creeps use the paper. That's what I think. Though I will agree Bucky and those guys have written way worse. But that doesn't make this ok. Let me add something else. Bucky complains that that the statement was an hour late. And he didn't seem to like that because, who would? But also because TBN guys are entitled acting. Why do I mention it? Because I would have got a story in that hour. I would have left with at least two stories. And that is just as ME, with no press credential. Because I watch, I think, and I am always looking for a story when I am around the Bills. Why did Bucky get? Nothing. The bottom line is the guys can't write. They just haven't got it. They haven't got the moxy or the creativity. Which you can't blame them for except that they are so snotty,

The funny thing is, I DO pay for the subscription. But I don't read the Buffalo News lead columnists. I subscribed to read The Voice of The Fan and I just haven't canceled yet. He was worth my whatever, 80 cents a week. The "Bucky" article here is a good example. Needlessly negative. Oh so oversensitive. Poor offended Bucky. But mainly, it is lazy. Emotion and negativity and boo hooing and all that is so completely easy. I am not sure how many days work the Bucky's and Jerry's and the other shameless unproductive un-insightful and rather stupid TBN newsies milk the paper for one of those articles of theirs. But I see an hour's work. I am convinced that is why the do what they do. It is so easy. In contrast we have the Olean article which took work, research , thought, and fact checking. And the stuff they ran from our own Kelly the Dog is tons of work. A whole concept with word play and puns and jokes (at least one of which was funny every week). And his stuff is COMPLETELY original in content and form and style. It is his own unique creation. Bucky and Jerry's stuff sounds a lot like what one might hear from a drunk in a bathroom stall ranting to his (hopefully) imaginary friend in there. Anyway thanks for mentioning this Hap. As I said, I don't read it so I missed it.

Bills analytics department fired/restructured
BadLandsMeanie replied to ricojes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think analytics may have some, but limited use in play calling. Probably very limited. I think that because there are questions that I think it is hard or impossible for analytics to account for. What are the matchups? Are their starters playing or are they on the 3rd man up at a postion? What about my players? What did we see on film? What injuries are their players coping with? What injuries are our plays dealing with? Is it raining? Is it snowing? Which way is the wind blowing? Is it blowing hard? Are we home or away? Is the crowd noise a factor? Are we on turf or grass? How is the footing? Where is the sun in the sky? What are my players telling me about what they think will work? And probably a hundred more things I just don't know enough to consider. So yeah I think analytics has use but I am not a believer in it for play calling, unless something is just so obvious it will happen in most cases no matter what. And if it is that obvious, we shouldn't need analytics to tell us that. -
Have you ever been less excited for a SB?

This is a good topic for me. I thought it was just me. This year I don't care at all. I probably won't watch it. Even te commercials aren't as good as they used to be. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - The GM's QB Decision Tree

Indeed. Now you mention it, he may have been comparing your post to the achingly beautiful corona that shows around the dark black disc of the moon, lighting the way and giving hope in the darkness. :I -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - The GM's QB Decision Tree

If you made this quip up, you deserve a prize! (Sorry Shaw but that was a Great zinger) -
Hiya, You seem like a good fit for a project I am doing in which we will study and observe individuals who cannot learn or understand, no matter how many times the lesson is repeated. We will be focusing on those who seem predisposed to categorize people into groups despite very obvious evidence that their unshakable made up belief, could not be true. We are on track to prove that this is an undetected brain disease much like Alzheimer's used to be. One chief feature we are all familiar with is the insistence on prejudging individuals such as is done with ethnicity, nationality, language spoken, color hair, presence or absence of freckles, preference of beer, message board origin, and so on. The lucid among us are familiar with this trait being the root of nearly every war and of much of the other nonsensical and moronic human activities in history and continuing on to the present day. Are you interested? There is compensation and we need only a very tiny amount of your brain tissue, which we will take from your ass.

It bugs me when guys are looking to leave after 8 months on the job. What did he do for us? Scouted the colleges right? Who have we drafted? Nobody yet. He will just take everything he learned with him to his new job. I don't think it is fair to take a job and then leave before you have done a freaking thing. And i disagree that having people take new jobs 8 months in to your new regime is a sign that you hired the right people. I get the idea, but it is a sign that you made a mistake if you ask me.

I think it is the owners who need to think differently. The way GMs and Coaches get fired every 2 or 3 years, there is no time to take the long view for them. If I am a GM who picks a QB in the second round so he will develop in 3 or 4 years, I am lowering my odds of having a job in two years. I will never be there to see it. Same with the coach. He doesn't want a guy on the roster who might be good in 3 years. He wants that spot for someone who can play now. That is not their fault it is the owners fault. The only one who can and does do that, is Bellichick. I think the owners should be responsible for long term planning when it comes to QB and the O-line. Because otherwise, as we have seen, it doesn't get done.

Mason Rudolph has tiny hands

Rudolph with your hands so slight, won't you lead our team tonight? -
This is a raw nerve for me, so please forgive. Yes the Pats have done ok when Brady has not been able to go. But that Pats have also been proactive about that, by drafting and grooming quarterbacks. That way they are ready when they need to be. So you can see that in a sense, the way the Patriots emphasize the importance of the Qb spot shows that they understand that coaching can only take you so far. In contract with the Buffalo Bills. The Buffalo Bills have been impossibly stupid when it comes to that. Year after year, they had been unable to learn. The most very basic concept, that every schoolboy knows, which is that the QB is very important, the front office brass of the Buffalo Bills have been too moronic, too idiotic, too arrogant, too busy infighting to learn. They have instead rarely drafted a QB, because they have been empty headed drooling cretins of the very worst sort, which is the type of jackass imbecile who thinks he is smart. Ok so yeah I have a raw nerve about that. Anyway maybe we will find out eventually how BC does with Brady, if Brady turns out not to be an immortal blood sucking vampire, which I am beginning to think he is. He has the personality for it.

Fair enough. That makes good sense. But for my part, there are a fair amount of games during a season, and in the post season, that do not go according to plan. Which means you can get behind. For 20 years now and especially lately, every time we get into a shootout, I know we are going to lose. I want a QB who can pass the football real bad. Topic for another thread is, Bill Belichick would be the success he has been without Tom Brady, only in his mind. Tom Brady makes a difference. Bill Belichick's defenses, football master that he is, get way behind sometimes. It is the offense with Tom Brady that gets him out of it. So, if Bill Belichick, a defensive coach, is a supreme genius, it shows up mostly on the Offensive side of the ball for some reason. By the way I know what you mean about already being tired. Weird year.

Gronk's Karmic retribution
BadLandsMeanie replied to Livinginthepast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think it was Karma. Rob Gronkowski needed a fair suspension for what he did to Tre White. He didn't get it. It was a 2 game act of violence. The League refused to give it to him. I think he is a marked man for as long as it takes the rest of the defensive backs in the NFL to forget about what he did. Watch the film the guy who hit him set it up perfectly and was quite happy about it afterwards. -
The way I see it, he is owed a beating. You say something like that to a man, he should be allowed to kick your ass. It is the universal code. Also 105 in a 45 could justify a beating depending where it was. Kids around? Beating. A good one. I don't care about this idiot. But thing that galls me is he sure as heck should have got his ass kicked just like any of us would expect. And like any of us who are not psychopaths would subsequently, upon reflection, admit we deserved. But "Robbie" gets away with it because he said it to a cop with more self control than I have.

Titans Name Mike Vrabel New HC
BadLandsMeanie replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has been a defensive coordinator for ONE season? Do I have that right? They brought in a ONE season DC, ex-linebacker and Linebacker coach, to nurture their QB? Setting the cheering and praise aside, I think it will work out to be just as good as it sounds. Dumpster fire. -

My Case For: Lamar Jackson
BadLandsMeanie replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you all round with two mentions. I think TT also looks real calm and stable and he just has a presence when the play is unfolding. That was what made think he could make the cut. But the two things that you mention that he cannot do, throw receivers open and work from the pocket, those are the main job description. So I just differ on the emphasis there. In my own mind, I think Tyrod Taylor is a businessman first and foremost. He prospects his statistics. He looks good on paper. And he has made, and will make much more money than he would have if he went for broke and exposed his weaknesses. He takes the sack rather than the incompletion for example. There is no statistic for throwing the ball 10 yards short of the first down on 3rd and 15 for another example. So instead of a risky throw late in game when you really should go for it, he throws the 5 yarder and we punt. That kind of stuff. -
I know what you mean. But it is not all that funny to me. I wil tell you why. Because We always INSIST that players who do NOT play well, are actually really great! Like Tyrod. Trod is good but his supporting cast and his coaching are bad. But when Foles plays well... it means he is not good. Also, Bills fans always want to improve the team by getting rid of the best players. We have two good offensive linemen. Wood and Incognito. Hands down they play the best. There is no competent argument or opinion other wise. But we want them gone to save money and get younger. Anyway your hilarity isn't as one sided as you think! And Foles is by no means top notch, but he is as the OP said, better than our starter. The Eagles have two good QBs. The Eagles lost their starter, but then still demolished the Vikings and will play in the Superbowl. The Vikings lost their starter and still made the conference championship game. Both those teams have a starter and a backup who are better than anyone we have had play QB for at least the past ten years. I don't think that is funny! The trouble is, it is has always easy to second guess the Buffalo Bills about who they have at QB.

My Case For: Lamar Jackson
BadLandsMeanie replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Film Room Junkie? I like that sound of that!! From what I have seen teaching accuracy takes longer than you have i a career. Not one time have I ever seen anyone be taught how to throw accurately by an NFL staff. To me that claim is just a QB coach saying yes, because if he says no he can't, you get another QB coach who is willing to lie. Minor improvements yes. Big improvement to accuracy I say again, I never saw it yet. -
It would be fun to be you! You must be just astonished, amazed, and enthralled every time you look in the mirror!

I enjoyed this and it is fun and not too serious. I hope it is ok.
