  1. I am finding that there is such a thing as a bit too much excitement in the offseason.
  2. Well that's kind of a bleak outlook.
  3. But they get you to 4 and Indy probably won't pick a QB. I suppose they could trade it though and then we would be in trouble at 4. Consider this though. We have good relations with Cleveland for I don't know why we do but we do. at 2 we have Gettleman connection. at 3 we have Frank Reich connection and they don't need a QB. So maybe none of those teams will outright trick lie or deceive us and that is a good place to be.
  4. By the draft value chart our 2 firsts alone can get us to Cleveland's 4th round slot. This is an attractive possibility to Cleveland because IF they pick 2 high firsts and 2 high 2nds this year and hit on all of them, they won't be able to renew them all. It will be too expensive 4 or so years down the road. So Cleveland probably wants a high pick for next year instead of yet another fist this year. So think our 12 ad next years first and some other value, like maybe their 3rd back. at 2 the Giants have a QB ad may pass on one this year. at 3 the colts have a QB and it would be odd if they took one. So at 2,3,and 4 overall there are likely trade partners and we can reach any of them. We are in good shape here.
  5. I think if he doesn't want to come here he will have told them that at the combine. And I don't hold it against him to want to avoid Cleveland.
  6. Chazz!! Hiya pal! As for the topic. It works out I think that the Bills paid Glenn and the 10 million or so they eat of his salary, to move from 21 to 12. The money is part of it because teh Bengals can use that on their own players as I understand things right now.
  7. Hey I don't know that much. But from what I read Rosen knows the most about football by a lot. And he alone worked on his mechanics enough to have them pro ready. I don't see all that work and dedication is meaning that he doesn't care about football.
  8. I know man. But next year when you get your column back, your head may clear again. Hang in there. (No other agenda here aside from I saw the opportunity and took it it. No offense! Love your column
  9. Jason Peters I thinnk for a year. Glenn was great for us. We got him with a 2nd, overall paid him way less then he was wroth (rookie contract) and then got a great deal trading him away.
  10. Holy smokes! Wouldn't it be funny if it turned out that Beane and McDermott are actually just crazy? And they just keep trading and trading people because they can't stop? I mean like funny, after a long time looking back on it kind of funny. Anyway I hope they are right about Dawkins. We don't have Tyrod the Escape Artist at QB any more.
  11. it's a line from monty python.
  12. It started from "I have a bridge I would like to sell you"
  13. I wouldn't mind this. But I personally think McD and Beane are too young for that. I think they will want the best guy they can get and if they see him, they will do whatever they can to get him What I would love is to be in the mix of the deciders and to have all that film on all these guys and be watching every little detail of every frame of film. And then narrow it down and watch the top contenders again, both free agent and draft guys. Obviously this is all my BS but I think they may have a deal with the Browns to move to 4. I think that because I also think that the 65th pick for Tyrod was too much because it is also a "deposit" by the Browns to seal the draft day deal. Like when you put a deposit on a house or something to show you are serious before you come back with the real money. The Browns will get that pick back unless they back out of the deal in which case the Bills will have to find another deal but get extra value for Tyrod as compensation. Or Im just nuts. Looking at the QB prospects I think McD and Beane are guys who look at what you have done more so than what your potential could be. Like Tre White. He already did the work. He wasn't raw athletic talent. He was polished up because he got on Youtube or got books or got extra coaching or whatever and did the work to get his technique to a pro level before he ever got here. That tells you something about a man especially if you are McD or Beane, I think. One of the top prospects did that. One has studied the game and by reports is the most advanced with the mental aspect of it. And one has already taught himself professional level technique. That is Rosen. So I think they want Rosen. But I am not sure Rosen is likely to be there #4 so there is where my elaborate hunch breaks down. You all heard him! Keep that 5 bucks handy Shaw you might need it pretty soon!
  14. 5 bucks says they will
  15. I know what you mean but look at it this way. If they don't have to trade away drafts picks to get a QB, those picks save them millions, big time money, over what they will have to pay out to free agents.
  16. Now you mention it I just thought that "McBean's" would make a good name for a local chain of coffee shops. As long as they are winning.
  17. We have never had a coach that can schmooze like McDermott. This is a powerful skill that people don't pay attention to but they should. It will be a big benefit for us over time if McDermott can stick around. I think if McDermott wants Cousins he can make it really hard for a guy like Cousins to turn away. So I don't know if they want him or not but I for one wouldn't count the Bills out of the running if they do. For those that don't know what I mean, I mean players will say; "It just felt right. The team, the organization, I don't know it just felt like I fit in. The community is wonderful for the children. When I talked to my wife she agreed..." and so on.
  18. Someone has a crush on me! It's usually always been girls before. But it has been so long since it happened, I'll take it! What kind of candy do you like?
  19. Well, younger is nice. But better isn't so easy. Where will the better guy come from? In 2017 Kyle Williams was the best defensive tackle on the team. And after they got rid of Dareus, he was the best by a lot. Does anybody in this thread watch the game film? Or reply the games and watch the line play? So in closing, if as the title says, "You're the GM" you would have done that right? You would have looked at the film. What are you guys basing your opinions on? I'm confused because of how opposite it is of what I saw.
  20. I think they should just leave the pace unlocked accidentally on purpose some night and I will take care of it. Too bad Nichole didn't have a #mecutintoo movement back then.
  21. Maybe they could compromise by just having some blood spatter dripping off of his name up there?
  22. I'm not going to go back and forth with you here. I will just correct something you wrote that is wrong, and be done. It was a featured article in The Buffalo News. It wasn't a short brief comment.
  23. And not to seem like somebody who is nursing a butthurt all these years but... That was a really fun time on the old board because we had a board mock draft going and an organized real time draft day coverage on there. I picked Roethlisberger for my pick and everyone said I was stupid. I took a pasting for that. (I mostly just got lucky by going by hims measurables Im not the best at that) Anyway it wasn't as clear he would turn out like he did back then to the extent that I don't think one person on the board thought I made a decent pick. Plus if it matters I have a good idea that Donohoe was targeting Losman from the start, though there were later stories they tried to trade up.
  24. I didn't like Tyrod and I am very glad he is playing elsewhere now. That being said I know he got blamed for things that were not his fault and by people who should know better. Like in the press. A good example is Tyrod's last play as a Bill. Tyrod did not see the wide open receiver they said. I could see him on open on TV and on the film, but I was looking down from the sky. From Tyrod's point of view there were 2 linemen directly between him and the open guy and he just couldn't see the guy. Then they said he made a bad choice to try and pick up the first himself. But he made the right choice he would have made it except for 2 things. One is he got facemasked when he started to run. This was not noticed. The other is our guard Miller had actually pancaked his man. Which is what Tyrod saw. Then Miller got up, off of the top of his man who he had pinned to the ground, and that man then went and pile drived Tyrod into the turf and ended his season. If Miller had not done that, Tyrod would have made it even with the facemask. None of that was his fault but he got totally blamed for it by everybody.
  25. This is great thanks! But unfortunately now I sound like an arrogant jerk in my own head because I have always been thinking since he got here that Beane thinks just like I do. Only one thing he has ever said worries me a little. I'm not too worried because he hasn't said it a lot and maybe didn't mean it as strong as it came out. He talked about leadership for a QB as being maybe the most important quality and what came off to me as an almost magical idea of how much it means. I personally don't want to hear any more about the "It" factor until am sure we got somebody who can read the game quickly, stay alive out there, and throw the ball. The one thing I hope Beane knows and that I am worried about is, I hope he knows that NOBODY knows for sure how a drafted QB will turn out. It is like playing poker. You can know that your hand has a very good chance of beating the others. And then you can bet a lot on it. But you can't know how it is going to turn out until the hand is over.
