No, what we forget is 2008, when he had TB for all of about 7 minutes before losing him for the season to a knee injury, and yet his system with Matt Cassell still squeezed out an 11-5 season and only missed the playoffs due to some screwy tiebreaker. BB sucked in Cleveland. But unlike most NFL coaches who suck initially, he actually got a lot better at his job.

Including last year's AFC champs. The only teams that definitely are not in the running are the ones firmly at the bottom of the league.

Amidst all the "Fitz sux" threads (and FTR, I find his inconsistency maddening, both game-to-game and play-to-play), I found it interesting that while Fitzpatrick is currently 12th all time in games played for Buffalo as QB, he is already 5th all-time in franchise passing attempts, completions, and yards, and 4th all-time in TDs. Barring injury, he's a near lock to move up one slot in all of those categories this season. I bet Welker would take a pay cut to stay with the Pats, rather than be traded to a non-contender if it came down to that. Dude's probably really hungry for a ring, and he knows his window of opportunity is closing. If he hits free agency after this season, that's a different story, since some contending team will likely pony up a reasonable offer for his services.
