I recall a spider the size of a dinner plate that appeared overnight just outside where we were sleeping one night. Some local guy shot it with a pistol... and it was still alive. I also recall some insect larvae that were like 6 or 8 inches long. I shudder to imagine what those would turn into. Mothra, probably.
