  1. Frankly, most cities don't have as much local sports radio content as Buffalo does. And for a so-called "small market city," I'll bet we're almost unique. That said, I listen because they entertain me. They might not entertain you; that's ok. You don't have to listen. And apparently, you don't even live here, so why do you care?
  2. Exactly. There is nothing wrong with posting a link to an article. Take issue with the description if you want to really mince words, but it was a good link to a good article.
  3. Spot on. That's the way hockey does it (game misconduct and then an evaluation of whether a suspension is appropriate), and although the NHL has some distance to go still (the suspensions should be longer, considering the 82 game season), it's a step in the right direction.
  4. Huh? All I'm saying is, Lewis didn't acknowledge that the Bills would be any type of obstacle at all.
  5. Actually, he didn't; this is the quote from the article: “We are going home and then we are going to the bye week,” he said. “It’s going to be rough on Buffalo.”
  6. My point is that I don't think that much of a 99 QB rating when it's only earned because defenses play light when a team is up by two-plus scores in the fourth quarter. Check out when Fitz gets his numbers. I don't think he's been a particularly bright spot; he just hasn't been as dark as some of the other "spots," as you call them. I don't hate him at all, or want him off the team, or anything like that. I do think he'd be an excellent mentor for the right young quarterback from Stanford, but not for every young quarterback from Stanford (as has been demonstrated).
  7. Seriously. Talk about being selective. Hey, OP, no Mannings? No Rivers? No mention of half of the class of '83? This is jackassery.
  8. Actually, you didn't. Look up.
  9. A lot of the points, yards, completions, etc. came in "garbage time."
  10. Maybe he wants to wait for a west coast team or large market team to bottom out, rather than be drafted by a certain team. There have been players who have refused to report to certain teams (Manning, Elway come to mind) when selected first overall. Staying in school would help him avoid that controversy, if he doesn't want to go to the team that is likely to select him. Also, if there is a new CBA in place, it very likely will have a rookie cap. He might wait a year for that cap to go up. Finally, it's been said elsewhere on this board that he takes his studies seriously and that his family doesn't exactly need the money. I think (and hope) he'll declare, but there are some reasons why he wouldn't.
  11. Not at QB, he didn't. But your point is well-taken anyway.
  12. Not if he stays in school, he won't. Same goes for Luck. I'm not sure I would spend an early first-round pick on either Ponder or Locker. I think that if they were the best available, I'd rather grab a stud lineman, and see if one or the other is available in the second. If not, it's Luck or Mallett in 2012. I'm willing to wait 2 years if all of the pieces are going to come together, rather than rush the job and have eight more years of 7-9.
  13. The stats are inflated by garbage-time drives (look at where the bulk of passing yardage came against Jax, for example), but as above, Fitz is far from the Bills' biggest problem. (No, that does NOT mean that I want him starting next year, or that the Bills shouldn't take Luck or Mallett if available.)
  14. Yeah, and anyone dealing for Lynch would have to keep in mind that he's a minor transgression away from sitting out a season. That's not the case w/ Branch.
  15. Amen. Kelsay got an extension (which I didn't like), so now no one else can call a meeting? Seems like a stupid conclusion.
  16. If they have it, and Luck stays at Stanford, and the Bills take Carimi first and Mallett or Locker 33d, the whole fan base will come right back. Not saying that's the right move, but the whole fan base will love it.
  17. Doesn't matter; apparently, they are able to fit a hundred dollars' worth of bottles (that's 2000 bottles!) into each. Or at least according to the philanthropists here.
  18. Look at the history since the merger. More busts than Hall of Famers, and the Bills got two Hall of Famers out of four no. 1 picks. Not bad at all. (Add the Cousineau-for-14th-pick in '83 trade, and the Bills got three Hall of Famers.)
  19. At least historically, the Bills have done ok with the first overall pick. Patulski didn't work out, but Simpson and Smith sure did. And even Cousineau led to Jim Kelly.
  20. Oh, I'm not assuming anything about Green Bay. It just makes no sense that a lot of teams were interested, but none had someone pick up the phone and make a call. Why am I starting to seem like a Bills' PR person? Because I'm questioning a news article that is, in fact, questionable?
  21. He was mine for a while. I've switched, and I'm hoping for Luck now.
  22. Luck > Mallett > Locker.
  23. I have a problem with the first item, but that's about it. I doubt the people in front of you were "covered" in cheese and beer (if they were, they should have talked to an usher), and I know that much more than half of the stadium is not near section 108 (and I don't really care about two girls who were stupid enough to get into a fight, either). And that was not all you were asking; you were asking for the game to be the perfect environment for your nieces. It will not be the perfect environment for your nieces.
  24. Look, I'm not one of the drunken idiots, but I don't understand why people think it's a God-given right to take their children everywhere. Sport is good; so is music. Kids enjoy both. But NFL games and rock concerts are places where grown-ups go to blow off some steam. It's our turf. (By our, I mean grown-up, not drunk.) Take the kids to a Bandits game or a UB game instead, or understand that you are bringing your children into a grown-up environment where they will hear foul language, and unfortunately, encounter drunken idiots. whateverdude, cmmon sense doesn't need to be printed on tickets, and the mission statement comment is just stupid. Look, I agree with your stance on the garbage, but with all the rest of the complaints, it sounds like an NFL game is not the place for you to be; 72,000 people are not going to change their behaviors to suit you. (Or me, which is one reason why I don't go to many games.)
  25. NFL games are not for children. Just because a sport is involved doesn't mean that it has to be a kid-friendly environment.
