  1. And they wonder why we don't watch. High school has better quality football and better announcers. This is a boring game that is made even more boring by the "talent" that ESPNU is using for its broadcast. And I'm not only a UB alum, but a UB alum who was in charge of homecoming twice during the D-III days. I love the school, but they did the sports thing in an incredibly half-assed manner. This sucks. EDIT: I'm serious. I watched Canisius (HS not college)-McQuaid a couple of weeks ago, and the announcers--and football--were better. This is a **** show.
  2. It's very Euro 2012.
  3. Dear Replacement Officials: We're spending anywhere from $50-$500 per seat, depending on stadium and location within, to watch football. You don't get to tell us how hard it is for you to do your job. Shut up and learn how to ref a game. Sincerely, the fans.
  4. There is no need to go out to the suburbs. The aforementioned Hyatt is fine, as is the Embassy Suites, as is the Hampton. All are downtown, and all are in perfectly fine areas. Two of the three valet your car, and the third has a secured lot. The Adams Mark is isolated. You probably noticed. There's nothing going on at the very far end of downtown, so the likelihood for petty crime is greater.
  5. That was the worst throw I've seen since Mathison was the quarterback. Good on Bills fans for letting Fitz know what is acceptable and what isn't. Keep it up; the team is 1-0 when we let Fitz know!
  6. Team had 5 sacks. That's partly due to MW being there. MW had a fumble recovery. The defense looked incredible from about the fifth minute in (they were shaky at the start) until the game was out of hand. What do you want? Do you think KW and MD have the game that they had if MW wasn't there? No way. It's a team, it's a front four, and they operate as a unit. And MW was fine.
  7. I don't love the stadium experience for many, many reasons, but in the Bills' defense, they did put out press releases stating that metal detectors would be used and that fans needed to get to the gates earlier than in the past. It was well-publicized. This one is on the guys who wanted that last Genny out of the twelve-pack, and not on the organization.
  8. Technically, yes; realistically, no. I remember Wilfork rolling around in a playoff game against the Colts years ago. No penalty, and he was right in next play. Then again, he always was a cheating !@#$.
  9. They shouldn't charge you for soda refills if you are eating. That's ridiculous. Sorry to hear that.
  10. 52-0. Ugh. I had to stop watching in the third.
  11. Can't recommend TuneIn enough. I have just the free version and I use it all the time.
  12. Actually, while I'm fine with bench seats, you identified the biggest problem with them: the people who take up more space than what is allotted.
  13. Tempo is a very nice modern American restaurant on Delaware Avenue. I don't know too much about what is near where you are staying, though. Good Lord, no. We want his wife to enjoy her time here. Chef's has "fantastic Italian food and sauce" if you're German, Irish, or a tourist. The food, actually, is quite horrible, and they actually ask you if you would like your spaghetti "parmed." Think about that. The owner is one hell of a nice guy and a great community participant, but that is NOT Italian food.
  14. If you really want wings in the City of Buffalo, try Gabriel's Gate. Much, much better than Anchor, not as good as Duff's. If you want a nice dinner, well, we're going to need to know more about where you're staying.
  15. Well, in the immortal words of Cosmo Kramer, "I'm out!"
  16. No, it worked fine for me on cable.
  17. For quite a few years, the Bills radio network broadcast on two stations in Buffalo, 97 Rock and 103. One was synchronized to the on-field action; the other, to the television broadcast (so that people watching at home could listen to Van, and later, Murphy, rather than the CBS announcers). Is there a similar arrangement in place now?
  18. Discussed above, but OP is in DC, not NoVa. It's a long drive out to Jimmy's, and (less so) to Grevey's.
  19. No one from DC wants to drive to freaking Herndon, though. Same was the problem with Grevey's. It might as well be WV instead of VA.
  20. A complete exhibit as to the worst things about this site. Everyone just has to get on each other. You're all so, so smart. Anyway: Anyone read the book, which is now a few days old? Is there any way that Kelly actually wrote any of it (doubtful, in my mind)? Or even meaningfully contributed? (Again, doubtful.) And if I ever want someone to show me how to throw a football, Kelly is the first man I'd pick. But if I ever wanted someone to show me how to be a better dad, well, he's not even on the list. (Not that he's a bad father, but not that he's a good father, either. How would I know?)
  21. That looks like a great place to hang out.
  22. It's been almost ten years, but McFadden's was a great gameday experience.
