  1. To the extent that the defensive problems are personnel-related rather than systemic, they are more easily addressed during free agency or trades than the quarterback position is. That said, Fitz has played well enough to win five out of seven games.
  2. I get your point, but that was Sean Payton before New Orleans, too. Still, everyone has his price.
  3. Nah, I've lived in that stuff, too. For years. I really, really like it. But again, I'm not willing to trade Buffalo for it.
  4. As dominant as Alabama has been, it really hasn't produced quarterbacks in the last four decades. I don't think McCarron is any better than Barker, who didn't merit NFL starting work. It's been one Jesse Palmer (Fla., I know) after another; the best may have been McElroy. If the Bills spend a fifth or sixth on him (after taking someone better in the first or second), I will not be upset.
  5. I would rather have hot and sweating the minute I walk outside. But I'm not willing to trade Buffalo for it.
  6. Yep. I couldn't stand my old house, but I don't show up and tell the new owners about it! Outside of the weather, I'm happy here. I wish I could get into skiing or something so I would at least like winter, too, but I just can't. Oh well; most places don't have perfect weather year-round.
  7. Seriously, who are the !@#$ expatriates who are insulting this place? They should go to a forum for whatever city they live in and talk about how terrific it is, and stay away from here. We're doing just fine, and, it seems, we're better off without them.
  8. Elected to stay? I left for a decade and then moved back. Being part of the solution is a lot more productive than sitting somewhere far away and criticizing.
  9. No double-digit spread in the NFL is a lock, ever.
  10. 1. And then I read the answers, and there are about ten that I should have had. The one that I got had to do with the team colors. There's no shame in honesty!
  11. I'm not saying it's aliens, but...
  12. You got nothin'. I understand. Dareus MUST be worse than your six favs.
  13. Maybe because people have to post overly-provocative topic statements just for the sake of doing so. I'm not going to answer your question. It is a stupid question. After 1.5 years, who was the smart "keep?" Chris Doleman? Al Toon? Bruce Smith? After 1.5 years, who was the smart "keep?" Sterling Sharpe? Keith Jackson? Thurman Thomas? See the problem? It's a stupid question after 1.5 years. I don't care how freaking good Julio Jones was last year or this. It means nothing long term.
  14. Do you honestly think any GM in the NFL gives "final grades" on a guy after one and a half seasons? And if so, that those grades on Dareus would be negative? Right!
  15. Perennial pro-bowl players. What would you have thought of Mario Williams after 1.5 years? Is that what it takes for you? Two pumps and a shake?
  16. Stop it. Even with your math, which probably includes guys like Christian Ponder, everyone from that class is unproven. There is nothing to suggest that Dareus is a bust (which, because of, and not in spite of, the OP's thread title, is EXACTLY he was suggesting), much less that he was drafted too early, at this point in his career or in the career of anyone else in the 2011 draft class.
  17. But imagine him at DE! It would only be the fifth or sixth position that we're told he can play.
  18. Out of this year's crop, it's Wilson and Jones, for me. Wilson is personally doing okay absent Petrino, but the team sucks, and I like quarterbacks who win. Jones is winning and winning and winning, but I worry about him against pro defenses.
  19. It was a delay of game for spiking the ball, and not a personal foul, but I get your point.
  20. Someone should start a thread about how the Bills didn't go for two or something.
  21. There's got to be a way to negatively monetize this, too. Because while it isn't the most expensive defense in history, it has to be up there.
  22. He was anticipating having to make a tackle. It would have been great had he caught it.
