  1. I like it.
  2. I thought they were pretty clever. And I liked "Jack Hammer's" wistful style.
  3. No. There doesn't even have to be inappropriate conduct. Correct. Add sexual orientation to that list, in this state. Correct. You also can quit for any reason. It is an at-will employment state, not a fire-at-will state, like most of the country. It means that absent a contract, an employee can quit or be terminated for good cause or for no cause. Discrimination laws still apply. Or if he stayed inside that day and was engaged in no conduct at all. He could have been fired just because someone else was in a bad mood that day (not that EMA is that type of place). Source: I do this for a living.
  4. Damning, yes, but his attorney is trying to work out compensation with the Bills without a lawsuit.
  5. Best post in the thread, even (and maybe even especially) after the video came out.
  6. I caught that this morning, too. Lots of hubris for a .500 team.
  7. Oh, enough of this **** already. The guy wasn't great. He was just ok.
  8. He will start 48 NFL games or fewer.
  9. Wow, the first page of this thread is some of the dumbest stuff I ever have seen on this board. I can't even read the next three pages.
  10. mike freeman ‏@mikefreemanNFL 45m Broncos-Chiefs tweet is in reference to Week 13!!!!
  11. No, I think he played better than this in four of the first five games.
  12. Yep. For my part, he obviously was disappointing today, and I'm hoping it's rust. I think we all know he can play better than that.
  13. There are industries, much more sensitive than the sports industry, using iPads. You can bet that what you wrote is the absolute minimum. Probably, the whole machine is wiped, and I mean WIPED.
  14. I'm old enough, but I don't remember it.
  15. Exactly. It's not like Jimmy Graham is on the bench waiting for an opportunity to get in the game.
  16. Fair point.
  17. The Bills absolutely should have tried this at least once, from the spread formation, on that 1st and G.
  18. How freaking bad is Oakland that it lets Filly hang 49 points by the end of the third?! He's wiry.
  19. I recognize the importance of that play, but I'm not putting the defeat in Chandler's hands, nor am I giving up on him for a new TE. That man has been money in the bank in numerous situations. I still don't know how he ends up uncovered in the front of the end zone every other game--don't teams bother to watch film of the Bills?
  20. 8: Chandler had a rough day, but he wasn't the problem, and it's not his fault that Goodwin (?) blocked a nice first down pass to him. 10: Marrone/Hackett had some boneheaded play calls; I'll go with these: (a) First and goal from the one, try a sneak out of spread formation. Same for second. Same for third. Never tried, and that INT was the result. (b) Running Spiller into the line at the end of the first half. Look, if you want to go for yardage, by all means, take a chance. It's not supposed to be a playoff year anyway, so some sideline routes might have been nice. If you want to kneel, that's ok too, I guess. Know what's NOT ok? Running your half-injured star running back into the line for no reason whatsoever. But all in all, I like Marrone. A LOT. He's learning. I'm not as sure about Hackett. And there was some very good play calling, too, that doesn't stand out, including the brilliant run strategy. 11: I actually thought Gilmore was very, very good.
  21. That's true. And if the league wants to maximize the TV money, it shouldn't be using blackouts. I don't really know the solution, but I sure know the problem.
  22. Neat stuff. Thanks.
  23. I agree, and it will continue that way until the game day experience is improved. Sitting through consecutive two-minute TV timeouts is brutal. Notice that the continuous action sports (basketball, hockey) have TV timeouts at predetermined intervals to prevent this nonsense. The other stop-action sport in the US (baseball) only goes to commercial at the end of a half-inning or when a pitcher is changed. There's no TD, XP, 2 minutes of commercial, kickoff, 2 minutes of commercial, replay, sponsor's message, first down. That's an awful lot to sit through at the game.
