First, a preface: I am a police officer. I have a Taser, a PR-24 baton, pepper spray, a gun, and a K9. I have been trained appropriately in the use of these tools, and have been exposed to the Taser and the pepper spray. I am also familiar with my agency's policies and procedures on the use of these tools. Now... Please, find a source to educate yourself on topics other than the media. Your opinions on the Taser are clearly a result of the input of sensationalistic media. You have absolutely no idea what the legal justifications for Taser use are. You have no idea how the Taser works (My guess is you have heard how many volts are in a Taser shock, but don't know the amps. You probably also don't know why volts vs amps are important). Yet, you assert that the officer is fat, lazy, and is going to get sued. Well, I will reiterate that you are wrong. "I would have eaten less doughnuts and caught the guy". Right. How many times have you chased down, tackled, and then tried to handcuff a resisting subject? Never, you say? Ok... it isn't as easy as you see on TV. Once you chase, and then tackle the guy, now you are on the ground. The last place that I want to be as a police officer is on the ground (unless I have to be). Being on the ground is a position of disadvantage. I want the subject to be on the ground, and I want to be standing or kneeling over him/her. Ok, now that we have tackled the person and are on the ground, we need to get the handcuffs on them. Most likely, they don't want to be handcuffed (since they just tried to run from you) and will be trying like mad to keep you from doing this. Now, we are on the ground rolling around and wrestling with the person. Now, it is easier for him to get my gun. It is harder for me to retain my gun. Therefore, it is easier for me to die. So, assuming that job #1 for me is to go home safely to my family after a long day's work, what am I going to do? If given the chance, and having the legal authority to do so, will I tase the bad guy and therefore put myself at a position of advantage and the bad guy at disadvantage, and virtually assure that I will be safe? Or, am I going to chance getting hurt and hurting the bad guy worse just so that some ignorant Buffalo Bills fan won't criticize me on a message board? I'll take the former, please....with a dozen doughnuts....

Wrong. Simply wrong. The Taser is in no way/shape/form a substitute for deadly force - despite what the media would have you believe. I like how you criticize the security as lazy. What would you have done? Lets just say that you happen to become a police officer and are bestowed the legal authority and responsibility to uphold the law. Now, in order to accomplish this mission your agency gives you certain tools (i.e. a gun, handcuffs, a baton, pepper spray, and a taser). It also gives you the authority to use these tools under certain restrictions. Now, lets say you find yourself chasing a little punk around a baseball field in front of 35,000 fans and you are given the legal authority to a)keep chasing and eventually tackle, b)spray (keep in mind you need to be in front of him to do this, since it works on mucous membranes such as the eyes and nose), c)striking with your baton, or d) tasing the punk. Which would you do? I'll give you a hint - the Taser is the quickest and safest way to end the incident. So, I guess it does make the officer "lazy" after all since he chose to end the incident quickly and efficiently.

How about a 20 gauge to the nutsack? Sounds appropriate to me...

Buddy Buddy Buddy, Nix Nix Nix..

Does this offend you? Do you think that you know more about player evaluation and the players on this team from watching the team on Sundays, than they do from being around the players on a daily basis? They get paid a pretty penny to eat, drink, live Buffalo Bills football - you don't. Therefore, I think it is safe to assume that they DO know better than Bills fans. Er, at least they should. -
Yeah, it sounds as if they knew who this guy was and of his violent history. Kinda strange to have such a complacent attitude on the traffic stop - especially if you know the threat posed. Once the fecal matter hit the rotating oscillator though, you could see the training come through for the officer. Move to cover and eliminate the threat. I especially liked how he checked himself for bullet holes at the end of the video! I like how the bad guy is described in his obit... "a big teddy bear with a heart of gold". http://missoulian.com/news/local/obituarie...1cc4c03286.html

Nelson will have a pro bowl season!

Clearly, you didn't watch the same games that I did. The offensive scheme most assuredly catered to the talents of at least one Buffalo Bill. Jairus Byrd had many more opportunities for interceptions. -
Who cares what Oakland thinks. Aren't they the ones who still think that Jamarcus Russell is a QB?

ESPN Thoughts on Brohm when he was drafted
Sig1Hunter replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This video is a shining example of how the crap these windbags spew on ESPN is for entertainment purposes only. It's not because they really know what they are talking about. "Brohm will be the starter in GB two years from now. Rodgers doesn't have the potential to be a big time QB" (paraphrasing). Two years later.... Rodgers is a top level franchise QB while Brohm is a 3rd string QB. -
NFL Rookies choose their jersey numbers.

Unless we get another Spiller on the team, I wouldn't expect a first initial. -
Awesome! Al Davis coined the phrase "Just win baby" while Buddy coined the phrase "Show me the baby". Can Ralph make some banners with that motto on it to plaster all over RWS like Al did in Oakland?

Looked to me like he just couldn't grab it and he was swaying backwards...eh, who cares. Dude was effed up and now is a youtube sensation. Young people, take heed...your path to fame is right in front of you!

I concur. Pretty sure that wasn't a hallucinogen. The issue with that dude was not that he was seeing things, its that his equilibrium was shot. Hallucinogens aren't known to mess with your balance like that. Add in the fact that he was wearing a Hurley shirt, and I can just about guarantee the source of that man's impairment was mostly, if not completely, alcohol.

If we dont trade Marshawn...
Sig1Hunter replied to Chi-town Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or, keep two in the backfield and split the third RB out in the slot. They always talked about splitting Marshawn out, and now they talk about splitting CJ out. I think, at least in this case, that this may prove to be "too much of a good thing". -
OJ is technically an innocent man (at least of the murder of his exwife and her boyfriend). What is your point? Innocent until proven guilty is for the courtroom. Out here in the real world, we can use our brains and common sense to make judgements. Whereas, judges and juries aren't allowed to.

If only NFLN had Schefter still, I wouldn't even think about ESPN. But, that LaCanfora dude just sucks and I really can't stand him. Those chameleon eyes freak me out a bit too. So, because of him, I'll probably split it 50/50.
