  1. I wouldn't rank him top five. I do think EM's output suffered after the departure of Peerless Price. Having Bledsoe flounder for his life didn't help either. Now, having an emerging Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish (please God!) and the continued success of Willis, should loosen up the double teams that Moulds has had in the most recent past. A quality, dependable tight end would be nice as would be a competent offensive line to further the education of one Jonathan Paul Losman. Did I leave anyone out? Oh yeah! Don't drop the bawl Eric! Squeeze de bawl like a bag of dinero!

  4. One entry found for schadenfreude. Main Entry: scha·den·freu·de Pronunciation: 'shä-d&n-"froi-d& Function: noun Usage: often capitalized Etymology: German, from Schaden damage + Freude joy : enjoyment obtained from the troubles of others Thanks for stretching me vocabulary! It was a wonderful story in the beginning.
  5. I like the optimism. I would like a Josh Reed surprise but his career has been an extended sophomore jinx... I can't wait to see how Lee Evans develops...
  6. Rigas Sr. owned the Sabres. His company (Adelphia Cable) made all these promises about building an office building in downtown Buffalo that was supposed to provide a bunch of jobs. Buffalo needs every job it can get. 215 years would have been better. All those jobs would have been best. Part of the story: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/A/ADE...UE&SECTION=HOME

  9. I opened my long distance phone bill a few months back to find that I was being billed for calls that I never made. In fact, one of the calls was made from a third party in place where I don't know anybody and I have never visited, to another place with the same qualities. I called the company and the guy answering the phone told me that he was in India. I explained my situation about three times and each time the guy put me on hold and finally said that he couldn't delete the charges from my bill. I sent a letter to my carrier explaining the situation and I told them I have dramatically cut back on my long distance usage as a result. It was only for about 75 cents but the principle is what is important. The phone operator in India wasn't rude but clearly he did not resolve my situation as I would like. I understand that our's is an economically integrated world and the US isn't going to have all the best jobs. I also understand that the people in India are just trying to make a living like myself but come on. The costs are low and the profits are high as long - as I am making the phone calls. But there will be no way that this company will be profiting from calls that I never made. The company is Everdial which is supposedly in the Midwest
  10. That was assault. I don't have that sort of restraint. I am also sick of the Tom and Kate pukery but if Cruise wailed on the guy I would see it as justified.
  11. And I would bet those 17,000 nights were between 1973 and 1976...!!!
  12. That is how I understand it. I used to collect the Dairylea milk coupons also but I didn't have anyone to take me downtown as I was a kid so they went unused. I didn't learn about the Knoxes hogging the best dates until I believe it got exposed in one of Rick Azar's final commentaries. I still remember that the Braves were wildly popular despite them not getting the best dates and they still sold the place out with crowds approximating 17,000.
  13. They robbed our Braves. I have scrapbooks of the Braves, Sabres and Bills from the 70's. 1970 was awesome with both the Braves and the Sabres as expansion teams. I used to "illegally" stay awake after my bed time to listen to both the Braves and the Sabres with an old classic radio on my nightstand and a transistor radio under my pillow while monitoring the sounds of the "inspectors" coming up the stairs! Sometimes, I would fall asleep with my radios still on and my mother would come in and throw a fit. But she know there was nothing she could do other than take away the radios! And that she didn't have the heart to do! I saw McAdoo score what I believe was 53 points at the Aud! THe series win against the Bullets was the Braves only series win! The Braves were very popular until John Y. Brown sold off the star players in his scheme to sell off the team to interests who wanted another west coast team.
  14. Hey Greg, I am sorry to hear about your Dad. It will be a roller coaster for a while. I lost my Dad when I was 3 and my Mom when I was 25. After my Mom passed away, my sister who is about 1 1/2 years younger than me asked me if I remembered our father. I told her yes that I have four images of him including one when he was dying in his bed. My sister told me that she did not remember our father. At that point, I realized that I was lucky and she was less so. Hold on to your memories of your Dad. Write your memories down and cherish them as they can fade as you age. The one about the Rockpile is a keeper!!! When the Bills lost those four and the Sabres their two, it was hard but they don't compare to losing my parents. I hold on tightly to my four images of my Dad. Hold on to yours! You are lucky! Prayers and peace!!! Spun
  15. In gratitude and for their safety, I tip a cold one for our armed forces...
  16. Let me include Anna!!! Her calendar shoot: http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2665988
  17. Absolutely hilarious!!! People look right at this puppet like it is actually doing the interview!!! Does anybody remember when they took Triumph up to Quebec City to get after les Quebecois? "Are you separatist?"
  18. Maybe Salma Hayek... Or Jennifer Love Hewitt... Or pre-diet Lindsay Lohan... I would change the wardrobe and the song of course but the movements, hmmm...not bad... I understand that some in the East and Midwest haven't seen this commercial yet so here goes... The gal riding the bull is also here... http://www.carlsjr.com/ontv To all the ladies of TBD, if you got this far I salute you. It can't be easy dealing with the locker room mentality.
  19. To quote a famous Kramden... "Humana, humana..."
  20. I have heard that watching football in Wisconsin - Packers and Badgers, is an experience. But no beer? Not even one...? C'mon, think about it...
  21. There are northern cities that thrive. Buffalo gets a bad rap for it's weather as if that is all Buffalo has to offer. Buffalo is not the only city with a winter. Buffalo's winter is just more dramatic. If, and that is very big if, Buffalo could make that long awaited transition from a primarily factory based economy then a renaissance could emerge. The affordability of Buffalo is jaw dropping. Bob and John's La Hacienda on Hertel has all you can eat spaghetti on Monday and Tuesday nights for about $2-3, great pizza, subs and wings. Incredible! Does Studio Arena still exist? If Buffalonians (in the city) can refrain from hauling off on each other things could be better. Two worlds exist in Buffalo.
  22. I am referring to TJ which is roughly 20 miles south, not San Diego. I live in San Diego. We have our stories. Nights in TJ are the worst. If you look like a tourist, you are viewed as having money by the honest and the less so. Come to San Diego, you will love it! If you haven't been to San Diego, what are you waiting for? I am just giving a heads up for those who may not know what it is like in TJ. Extortion in TJ is old news for some of us. It is worse today as is the drug and gang violence. The cops are not to be trusted. The SD Bills Backers do go all out for visiting fans. They are working very hard at making a party to remember. So bring it. You will love San Diego. The Bills Backers bar is a football toss from the ocean. San Diego is unreal, especially in November. Think living room with freezing temps outside or temperate, ocean breezes! If you feel a need to go to TJ, go during the day. For the most part, the only non-locals that visit TJ are the under 21 year olds who can drink, those who are visiting friends and family, the gamblers, those who are looking for trouble and the unsuspecting. I am concerned for the latter, especially the Bills fans.
  23. In California, we envy NY's cell phone law. At least you have one. For New Yorkers, it might be effective to consider California's three strike law. Maybe a trade? On second thought, we want both! Another thing to consider is the tailgating (sometimes necessitated by the cell phone users). Some of the time tailgating works as away to snowplow the car in front to drive faster. When I am tailgated, I lock in the cruise control. If that doesn't back them off, I use the decelerator button. Eventually, the tailgaters resign themselves to a safer distance and a lesser speed. I was at a four way stop yesterday when after letting the two cars perpendicular to me pass, this lady guns it right after I entered the intersection. If I hadn't slammed the brakes my passenger side would have been labeled. Since I have a '95, most likely the car would have been done when considering what little insurance would have done for me. The lady acknowledged that she was in the wrong but as an earlier poster expressed, concentration is seriously lacking on the road today. An underestimated cause of accidents is people not being awake behind the wheel. Coffee and / or a Red Bull could help people wake up a little better before getting in the vehicle.
  24. Avoid Tijuana. It is overrated and very unsafe. For some this is old news, for others you need to know that the situation in TJ is very desperate and getting worse. The corruption doesn't get a cop fired, just transferred. The saddest part is that good, honest, hardworking people of TJ suffer because of the loss of visitors. Read this unbelievable story: http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20...s_7m17hank.html
  25. Reggie McKenzie - phenomenal at opening holes... Fred Smerlas - constantly double teamed, great leader...
