  1. If I remember correctly Clark Gillies put a hurtin' on Dave Schultz.
  2. You go Francis!
  3. I don't know if they have done this before for college games. OSU is picked to win the CCHA and playing on (above) Lambeau Field should be exciting. http://ohiostatebuckeyes.collegesports.com.../092305aaa.html University of Minnesota has a freshman, Phil Kessel that is supposed to be very good. I am ready for hockey.
  4. Possibly, along with Two Guys, Lafleur and Lapointe! Biron and Dumont best stay where they're at...
  5. On the crate that Kate pushed out of the way it said legume (freeze frame) which is a French word for vegetable. I am curious whether there may be some French connection. I probably missed this but what is Rousseau's story about being on the island in the first place? Plane crash also? Her back story could be fascinating. Also, I believe it may have been in a conversation between Michael and Sawyer that there was a reference to the possibility of another nearby island? As for the henchmen that helped capture Walt, the leader sported the caveman look while the operator of the boat looked like he needed a chop but the two remaining men looked more tidy with shorter hair and relatively fresh shaves. Do these people also have a stash (razors and Apollo bars) such as like Desmond's or could they be fresh arrivals to the island or could they be regularly traveling to and from the island(s)? It is interesting how both Kate and Jinn seemed adept at being able to escape from being bound. I realize that Locke was the one who roped Kate but it is funny nonetheless that both were able to escape. Desmond may not be very smart. He should have had Locke rope Kate, then rope Locke himself then check to see how secure Kate was. Desmond made me think of Clockwork Orange with his use of "my brother". As for the shark, a previous post mentioned the shark possibly being an intended security device especially with the markings on the fin which made me wonder whether (in the story) the shark was mechanized. But when Michael shot the shark, blood splattered so who knows? As for the sickness, maybe we have already seen symptoms as with Jack's hallucinations of his father and possibly Shannon's siting of Walt? Enough for now! Good work everybody!!!
  6. Did anyone notice the talent at the Florida State - Miami game earlier this season? That kind of scenery reminds me of the days when televised football games used to include many more shots of the ladies in the stands. Nowadays, political correctness has got us the sideline reporters which can be nice but it just isn't the same... I mean with all those ladies at those schools we have to deal with Jack Arute. C'mon!

  8. I am still trying to accept the Michael Vick injury report.
  9. I suppose one could use the scoreboard unless it is the one at HBSC, knowing that one of those once came crashing down.
  10. Vick and the Falcons had the last laugh. It is too bad that the Bills didn't get a victory for us to feel good about. Vick isn't perfect. Neither are we.
  11. I don't know if you are right on this one but I do like the theory!
  12. This should be good...
  13. Last Sunday was a great launch for Losman. A lack of complacency by the team will help JP's confidence. A reliable running game would be sweet. And victories will certainly help...
  14. How about Charles the Bald...? http://historymedren.about.com/library/who...charlesbald.htm
  15. I wouldn't reject her unless there was a more enticing option. Might be fun.
  16. It is an amazing difference to see how Bledsoe can play with adequate protection. Parcells coaches players to do what they can do well not what they can't. Many of us have seen that Bledsoe needs consistent protection to perform well. Once the panic chip goes off, the system fails. Bledsoe can still drop the pill in a bucket from 60 yards away. He had a pocket most of the game. Expect Dallas to be very improved this year. Parcells may be the best coach that we will see for a while.
  17. It might be a good idea to keep the LA, Orange County, Oceanside and SD gangs apart from each other. Seriously, San Diego is filled with people from other cities. Fans get hungry to see their team so they are more willing and desperate to pay a lot of money on short notice for tix. The Steelers fans may have been bothersome (with thanks to their B team handling our A team) but try to imagine every home game populated with a sizable group of opposing fans. That is the reality at Charger games. There are some very good Charger fans but collectively they may be outnumbered. One thing that happened this year with the Chargers is that this summer they abruptly changed their timeframe for bulk sales which made it easier for walkup fans of all teams. The Chargers did this because they knew there was strong local demand for individual sales.
  18. I will enjoy the victory while I can as it was a great team performance but I can't forget the opening day win over the Pats a few years back and how that season degenerated...
  19. Well... First off congrats! Texas is a great team and your qb is a man among boys. It is frustrating to see what I thought was a choke by the Buckeyes. Not scoring a touchdown four times deep in Texas territory was misery. The Texas defense should get much of the credit for winning the game. The drop in the end zone by the Buckeye tight end is a nightmare in itself and Ted Ginn Jr had a couple drops too. However, the bottom line is that the game wasn't settled by a fluke play or a bad call just very good football. The Buckeyes were one series away from winning. Those are the worst ones to lose! Good luck with the rest your season!
  20. Did this commercial even run in the Buffalo area? I watched today's game in a sports bar in SD and I saw the Bledsoe version on other games but they ran a different version (involving the Vikings) during the Bills game. Bledsoe wasn't pitching to the king today. Instead, he toasted the Chargers.

  23. If anybody gives you a hard time, remind them that Woody Hayes also coached at Miami. There are always some gut busting Gomers who will talk their little town smack but most people will care more about the game than you. There are a lot of Grandmas and people of all ages but that is part of the tradition of OSU football. The fans are reactionary, they tend to wait for things to happen before getting into the game. Hand sitting can be contagious. If the game is tight or the Bucks aren't moving the ball or God forbid the Buckeyes are losing then the mood can get foul. However, I have never seen OSU crowds degenerate to anything close to the convict mentality in NFL stadiums. The students won't be in session yet as they are on the quarter system. So, the co-eds won't be in full force. Be cordial to your neighbors, talk football and things should stay cool. You should have fun as OSU football games are a great experience. There was / is a bar Out-R-Inn on Frambes Street, near High Street across from the campus that was fun. The powers that be eradicated many of the bars that used to line High Street which in part was a reason for the riots / bonfires of recent years. Here is a link to info about the bar: http://cityguide.aol.com/columbus/entertai...?sbid=105236557
  24. Reed makes sense as he has been on San Diego TV the last couple of years contributing on a weekend sports show. But as far as I know he still resides in SD.
  25. Agreed. The stats do not include many variables for quality of play such as distinguishing between a deflected pass or throwing into double teams or inexplicably choking the ball away. It is also true that offensive line protection can do wonders for stats and quality. Kelly could have played longer if he wasn't so beat up physically and mentally.
