  1. We have had good fortune with a few from the past. Miller, Vanek and now Stafford... I am probably missing a few... http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&a...rticleid=298549
  2. There has been little mention of the second island since it was first revealed. The Others are up to something and as usual it isn't good. Also, there has been less emphasis on the island's various hatches. Why? Their contents have been revealed and that is it? I don't think so. The writers like to take characters, storylines and features of the story and stow them away. Then they get us to forget and wham they hit us with some variant from the past. Examples are Rousseau and Desmond. How many years has Rousseau been on the island? Fourteen? And they aren't picking this women's brain? Compare notes with this woman! What else can Desmond see? He keeps to himself but stuff is spinning inside of his head. It is amazing how forgiving the characters are after fights and slights. It seems like Sun is the only one who knows how not to forget (Sawyer). It is also amazing how something intense happens and the characters involved keep it to themselves. Hello Kate and Julia, you were just terrorized by an animated smoke signal. Do think you might want to tell somebody what you witnessed? I mean what up? Julia is the female Ben. She is also a master manipulator and her sexuality makes her even more dangerous. Julia rose in prominence within the circle of The Others because she can lead, charm and manipulate. She does more than wait tables. For Sayid to be suspicious of her is impressive considering Julia's powerful sexual allure. Kate is the one women from the survivor group who is most familiar with Julia. Women have a unique way of reading through each other and I believe Kate will soon have Julia solved. I believe Paolo and Nikki are alive. Otherwise what was the point of the circumstances of there downfall? The grave seemed shallow enough and the narrative possibilities of having them come back from the grasps of death are immense. It is possible that The Others were on their way to gas somebody else. Their adversaries? Whomever they are at war may be the next target if that is what is happening. I believe Locke has established trust with The Others and is going to find out as much as he can. Sayid will do the same with Julia. At some point Locke and Sayid will meet again to compare notes. Jack will (mis)lead the survivors into more trouble and less answers. I believe Locke's father was on the back section of the plain and he was following Locke to kill him. Locke is the only one who has his father figured out and that puts the father in danger. I expect the father to try to kill Locke.
  3. The guys who play this game suffer a lot of lifelong pain. Stingley's injury was tragic and sad. It is never what we want to see. We pop open our beers and watch these guys hit and get hit. After they retire, we don't hear much about most of them and of the ones that we do remember, mostly it is just a familiarity with their name. But these guys go on through life with serious pain. When I think of Darryl Stingley, I think of players of today trying to get better benefits for the players of yesterday. I hope they succeed. RIP Darryl Stingley.
  4. You are not alone. Made me wonder about how many takes they had. "No ladies, we are going to have to do it again. So sorry, honest"! Sick pups we are!
  5. In the show last night, Kimmel asked the Mayor if he might be left handed. The Mayor said no. Kimmel then said, "you might want to give it some thought"!
  6. Here is a video of the "event"... Local tv also covered the auditions but I believe most of the links expired... http://www.fox6.com/mediacenter/local.aspx...mp;navCatId=157 http://weblog.signonsandiego.com/multimedi...ves/008562.html A few years back, I was at this San Diego shopping mall (Fashion Valley) when I noticed a bunch of gorgeous women walking into this hair salon. Eventually, word got around the mall that it was the Charger Girls. Slowly, a mob started to form. I looked in the salon and they looked like a bunch of scared kittens. Pictures and videos do not do them justice. But that's all we get!
  7. The under 21 crowd goes to Mexico (Rosarito). Some go to Lake Havasu (AZ). SD is hot and cold this time of the year, good beach days and not as good.
  8. That was one of the Sabres best games of the season. Total team effort! The penalty killing was the best I have seen all year. Miller deserved a shutout. The Pens goal was garbage. He knew what he was doing. Nice acting job. I hope Ruff has the Sabres taking their remaining opponents seriously. The Eastern Conference is stronger than the West and most likely the Northeast is the toughest division. The Canes are done. In one game in 74-75 the Sabres beat the Capitals 14 - 2. Martin four, Perreault three.
  9. But can she dance?
  10. I have always wanted to crash one of these pretending to be a photographer for the newspaper... http://photos.signonsandiego.com/gallery1.5/album153?page=1
  11. The Big Ten Eleven?
  12. A big difference between the Sabres of this year compared to last is that they don't seem to get as many breakaways anymore. Coming back from the lockout, teams weren't expecting the Sabres to be very good. Now teams play up to the Sabres. And the Sabres do their share of playing down to opponents! Beating Jersey last week was important as Jersey has been able to hang withe Sabres. The Habs and the Senators are also competitive. But the Penguins are dangerous. The Pens have so much young talent. If the Sabres can get on the board first and not take stupid penalties they might win. The Sabres also have to stop leaving Miller out to dry. The Penguins could win it all. Can the Sabres put away a quality opponent when they need to?
  13. Once again. Review conference history. Not the first time and not the last time. It has happened numerous times in which one team or two teams beats one team but they all end up with identical conference records. Who is champion? Whichever teams had the best conference record. Fair? Not really. Lazy? Yes. But it is how the Big Ten deals with "conference ties". Since Penn State has been in the conference there have been seven out of eleven schools who had to "share" Big Ten conference titles. No tie breakers. If one didn't know that before joining the conference one knows it now. Don't like it change it. Or back to playing Pitt. History: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Big_T...tball_champions Northwestern has more to complain about than Penn State.
  14. Mike, Florida was simply a better team. Relentless defense and incredible versatility. A big difference was that Florida knocked down the threes and the Buckeyes did not. It would have been a better game if the Buckeyes hit more threes but they were way off. To repeat takes a lot of talent. There is so much pressure. Oden was impressive especially in showing he could stay out of foul trouble, play as much as he did and still put up big numbers. Congrats (again) Gators!
  15. The conference rules are pretty clear. They didn't just start awarding co-championships two years ago or just for the Buckeyes. Review comference history. Don't like the rules or the conference is too tough? Go independent.
  16. Run or politely reject them. If that doesn't work scare them or knock them on their arse! They are usually very pushy people who act like they and only they know how to invest and save for retirement. The last time I was quizzed by one of them she asked what I do with my money. I listed a number of things that I do ex: 401k, Roth IRA, Bonds, Stocks, etc. When she asked what stocks, I told her that I couldn't tell her or anybody else because then I would have to pay more when I bought more. Sometimes I get a little volatile when people try getting inside my head or try pushing me around. That is what started to happen and it was over quick. Invest on your own and get a broker, ex: Schwab or Ameritrade, etc. They won't answer all your questions but if you are a novice, they can help. But read and ask questions. Don't try to hit home runs with obscure stocks that are very dangerous. 401ks are useually well diversified but then again research. Know what you are doing. Invest in blue chip companies (well known companies who are leaders in their markets) that have consistent growth and earnings. Do not take stock tips from friends, family, co-workers, web sites and chat sites! But as for Primamerica, don't give them your money or your time. Use the spin move!
  17. Interference no, holding yes.
  18. I remember all three. Norseman had former Sabre Steve Atkinson (# 19 for Sabres?). I believe the Royals were exclusively in Buffalo at first. It was around the same time as the Philadelphis Freedom (team and song). This was a hard sport to sell. Doubles and mixed doubles just didn't / doesn't draw. Breski's and women's softball was in it's infancy back then especially when compared to the present. To have any of their memoribilia is impressive. I have an original Braves pennant and a Cincinnati Swords pennant (Sabres farm team).
  19. Somebody drafted John Gianelli didn't they?
  20. Would condoms be out of the question? Edit: For Willis I mean...
  21. Bruce's Red Light...
  22. Personally, I am not a tatoo fan. However, I am cool with freedom and individuality. I am not too crazy about conformity. The first ones getting the tatoos were trailblazers. After that, some of the tatoo aficianados were simply followers and wanabes. Conformity has it's place in the armed services, some jobs, athletics, etc. With a good number of tatoo people that I know, they are desperately trying to be a somebody. Having a tatoo has become a way of posturing for some of the young. It is a rite of passage for others. A couple of weeks ago, I witnessed a near fight on a San Diego street in the middle of the day because one guy said something to his friend about a group of heavily tatooed guys passing by. People get very upset when their tatoo does invite the response they were hoping for. Having a tatoo is supposed to have some level of prestige with certain people. I try to be fair with who I meet. Whether one has a tatoo or not doesn't matter so much. I try to give people a chance in life. The rest of a person's story is more important than the cosmetic. However, as for the ladies, it is their business what they do with their skin but I view it as a turnoff. Specifically, for the armed forces, if they want harmless tatoos, let them have it. They do more courageous things in various places in the world than I could ever imagine. However, I do wish the armed services could do something more to deter the lifelong anchor of smoking. The model of physical fitness for the enlisted should be a lifelong lifestyle (for all of us).
  23. Third and long... again.
  24. Andre was one of the hardest working athletes the Bills have ever seen. He left the league kicking and fighting. He was so competitive. He was so clutch especially in the comeback game against the Oilers. Put him in the Hall.
