We went after the wrong insurgents.

The Sabres could use some "diamond in the rough" defensemen. Those odd man rushes have become chronic. Two seasons ago, the Sabres were the ones getting the breakaways. It is time that the Sabres start raiding rosters like other teams have done to the Sabres. Losing to the Leafs under any circumstances is pitiful but to lose to the Leafs in a game in which they really needed the two points is disheartening. Then to cap it off in a colossal collapse against the Sens. The Sabres have completely lost control of the Northeast division. If the Leafs pass the Sabres, somebody has to pay.

Anybody know anything about these guys... http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?articleid=35823...mp;service=page It is time to look towards the future. At least the future that doesn't include the Sabres in the 2008 playoffs (I hope for a miracle). I think the Sabres have practically emptied out the Amerks. And who will be the next farm team? Portland?

Chatsworth? Woodland Hills? Different kind of tailgating...

What do you guys think of this movie in production?
Spun replied to K-Gun10's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I think it is a little early to be doing a biopic on W. He still has about ten months to go. My guess is that Stone wants to get this done before someone else does. If there wasn't bad to go along with good there really wouldn't be a good reason to do a dramatic piece. There is no no doubt that the last seven or so years have been intense. I could do without fabrication and slant. I don't mind a thought provoking presentation. Has anybody asked the prez what he thinks of the film? Does he care? Would W give an interview for the writers? I wonder what sources the writers will be using. I think a post presidency documentary might be more interesting. Even more interesting will be whatever becomes de-classified over the ten or so years after W leaves office. -
If the storm is that bad go see the ballet, no? No grill, ghetto cushion, yikes. I'd walk to the ballet.

There was a time when les streetwalkers crawled up to Elmwood around Lafayette. They may still be up there. They would walk up and try to open the car door. Lock your doors while driving as often times the "ladies" will try to rob you. A number of years ago I was at this intersection at a red light and a "lady" try to open my door and I had to run the light avoid her. Friends of mine had a similar situation happen and the "lady" grabbed a wallet off the dash. They chased her down and recovered the wallet. I used to live on Lafayette for a short while. I don't think I would do that now. They changed Chippewa after they completed the "subway". Gennesee St. is supposedly where the "industry" gravitated. The lawyers soon followed. Now, Chippewa has restaurants and bars. The Chippewa scene is popular with people who are into the nightlife. It would be cooler if the nightlife district was near HSBC or vice versa. However, in contrast to how Main Street has become so barren, it is nice to see some life downtown. One of the coolest things about Buffalo is visiting the City Hall observation deck. From the top of city hall you can see the streets branch out from downtown, Niagara Falls, Lake Erie (of course) and Canada.

That Danielle and Ben thing was just too good to be true...
-
Back up and start over. Then who are Alex' parents?
-
Her name is Tania Raymonde. I think her character, Alex is safe unless she gets a better gig. Danielle (Alex' mother) was an interesting character when she was first introduced but the writers have let her get too vanilla. Danielle was better when she was capturing Ben (Henry Gale) and kidnapping Claire's baby. If Danielle is still alive, they need to make her more creepy (again). I wish they did a flashback of Ben and Danielle hooking up. Talk about a freak show. Tania Raymonde even has a unofficial fan web site. http://www.taniaraymonde.net/news.php

The pretty ones left?

Some old blabla, blabla. Blabla, blabla. Blabla, blabla. Al Windbag, focus on the real mistakes that real people make at their own expense so that they can get ahead while they are alive.

Is that a boar or a groundhog? Think you had a bad day? Ask Eliot Spitzer about his bad day! Thanks for refiring the rockets!
-
Spitzer had a lot going for him. Something has to be very wrong mentally to take such chances at losing his wife, alienating his three daughters, killing his political career, possibly going to jail and lastly potentially being in contention for the presidency down the line. This guy went on and on about helping Buffalo. Wasn't he labeled the upstate governor or something like that? I wish Governor-to-be Paterson the best of luck. I just hope all that hype about helping Buffalo turns out be more than words. John Rigas and his lofty plans for Buffalo come to mind...

It is amusing. Too much pressure in a very tight race seems to be getting the best of the Dem's. Say what you want about the current administration (and people do!) but the inclusion of (qualified) people of various races was more than just a staged event at the 2004 RNC.
-
I agree. Ferraro stated the truth although, I don't why she bothered to bring it up. Of course some people are supporting Obama in part because of his race. And Hilary is getting some support in part because of her gender. And McCain because of his race, gender, age, experience and politics, etc. But conversely some are not supporting Obama because of his race, Hilary for her gender etc. To think anybody is elected purely on political perspectives is ignorant, naive and uninformed. What makes the current run for the presidency so intriguing is that a black of any gender and a woman of any race are seriously competing to be prez. Ferraro was right to think the way she did because Obama getting support (from people of various races) in part because of his race is accurate. But Ferraro is hypocritical if she thinks that Hilary is not getting some support from people who want to see a woman prez. Ferraro and Clinton should have displayed more spine. I know people who have expressed their desire to support Obama because of his race and Hilary because of her gender. Obama could have acknowledged this. If Obama believes that this type of support doesn't exist then he may not have his fingerprint on the pulse of America. Political correctness takes precedence over harmless free speech. By the way, Jimmy the Greek was also right.

If the pregnancy angle is so important to the research then we can probably expect more (forced) pregnancies. Look out ladies. Who would have such significant data on supposedly random individuals? A government? A corporation? Juliette's role seems to be one who can create and cure chaos. She can be viewed as demon and savior to elicit information and further experimental quests. What will Desmond see next? What role will the disgruntled Others (Rousseau's daughter) have in future episodes? Who else is pregnant? Rousseau's daughter? Who and what else is being watched in the various pre-island origins of the castaways? If Walt and his powers were so important can we assume that the Others really let him go home? Why does Vincent get more screen time than Rose and her hubby?

The comment made was very specific about the Rutger's women's basketball team. The ladies should be upset. The ladies did nothing to deserve this. What the ladies did to get into the headlines was have a great basketball season. Imus should and did apologize. Who knows if this apology is good enough. Damage was done. Money will decide the fate of Imus but who listens to him anyways? If Imus gets fired, I could care less. The ladies from Rutgers didn't bring this situation upon themselves, Imus created the uproar with a careless attempt at humor. I believe All in the Family and the Jefferson's wouldn't make it today. Censorship has blurred the difference between what is insensitive and what is humorous. In some cases, people become hurt because they believe that they are supposed to act hurt. What did so and so say? Oh yeah, that is supposed to be insensitive so now I am hurt. In some circles laughing has become taboo. I find Al Sharpton more offensive to African American people and poor people everywhere than Imus. Who is Imus anyways?. Instead of addressing some dos and don'ts about getting ahead in life, Al Windbag prefers to criticize other groups and individuals who have very little to do with the every day lives of people who need to do better and can do better. That is, if people stopped listening to Al Windbag and started pointing at themselves for life's solutions. Al Windbag exploits the poor. Al Windbag is a civil rights misleader. Personal accountability and responsibility. Catch it. You too Windbag.

Sabres will face either Leafs, Montreal or Islanders

I would add Ottawa. The Sens are the one team I don't want the Sabres to play. I hope someone else takes them out. -
MSU just knotted it up with about ten minutes left...

Do you see Turner as a fit? I don't. For what, a first and a third? And what did the Bills get for Willis? Trade up and get a young stud. If we have a good enough offensive line then it should be worth it. I will be honest, I haven't seen enough of Turner to know what he can do.
-
I am very proud of the Sabres. I hope Ruff and the Sabres can take it up a gear and keep it there. Click on this site (English or French) and then the downtown (Le centre-ville) link. This is one of Montreal's busiest streets, St Catherine. It is almost dead. http://montrealcam.com/ I am listening to a Toronto radio station The Edge 102.1 and the dj is so down on the Leafs. No confidence at all. It seems like a wild game, 5 - 4 Habs after two. Ryder already has a natural hat trick.
-
I like the idea. I think RW has a lot left in the tank. But I cannot see Miami wanting to play against him twice a year. If RW worked out it would help the Bills and hurt the Fish. I think the Fins would trade him to an NFC (southern) team... Who knows how RW is coping without the buds? And the future? The Bills have surprised with big moves in the past so I wouldn't rule it out. If it does happen, I would be amped about the possibilities.

Sabres will face either Leafs, Montreal or Islanders
Spun replied to millbank's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Do or die... This game could be a classic. Toronto has been playing desperate hockey for the last couple of weeks. Huet is the ace in the hole. If Huet is hot the Habs have it. I would prefer that the Sabres play the Islanders. Montreal and Toronto have both improved a lot this year. The Habs and Leafs play the Sabres physically to slow down the Sabres speed. -
Yes, Patrick Kane's name has come up a few times on this site. He is another South Buffalo kid! He is supposed to be drafted in the top five this year. He led the OHL in scoring with John Tavares in second. There are also four Buffalo area products playing in tonight's Frozen Four. Tim Kennedy, Michael Ratchuk and Chris Mueller for Michigan State and Andrew Orpik for Boston College. Not bad!
