LeCharles Bently Radio Interview
RochBillsFan replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it all comes down to "how are you going to afford this guy". I think a logical approach is to release Williams, pay Bently, immediately upgrade the line and you really have not lost any money. Essentially and Williams for Bently swap. Where do you go wrong with that? -
...thre is sooooo much he can teach Favre....
-
if: Mcgahee Parrish Everett express interest in trade or free agency to leave Buffalo to go back home. These 3 represent the better part of our high round draft picks for the past 3 years.... I don;t think McGahee or Parrish really care too much about Buffalo (other than it's a media vehicle for them, the NFL) and if Marv is looking for character he may decide to move them to get talent that he KNOWS wants to be here long term.
-
I was more in the Sherman camp.....but I think the Bills picked the right guy (although I REALLY wanted Haslett. Something must be up with that situation). Our problem is that the Buffalo fan base is so frustrated and jaded that NO DECISION will be the right decision until they become a winning team.... So, I think Marv is on track. Let's let him do what he needs to do.
-
Sherman as head coach, Jauron as DC and Assistant HC.
-
nobody is talking about him...
-
He is projected to be going to the Lions. I do not even see him being listed for coming into the Bills for conversation despite "informal contact". I know that the board participants are roughly 50/50 on 'like him' vs 'don;t like him", but I gotta believe the guy is worth giving the opportunity to talk. It seems to me that he's probably already been told by Marv that they're going in a different direction.

If you read Levy's book, he's pretty specific about how you go forward and build a winning organziation that can stand up against time. It centers around young talent and patience. MM is a lame duck coach who HAS to win this year upcoming. If he does not, he is out and his prospects are greatly diminished. So, right away, the GM and the Coach have different agendas. To MM credit, he recognized it and opted out...which is to everyones benefit.
-
Am I the only one left that would like to see Peters at TE. The success that Levy had with Thurman can be tied to Pete Metzalaars...can you imagine a 350lb TE clobbering people to spring McGahee or, even catching the ball with his 4.5 speed? I think we waste him within the OL

Is it the Head Coach or the General Manager?
-
We are absolutely LUCKY to have Marv -
RochBillsFan replied to IndyMark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess if I have to place my chips on the table, chosing between another "can't miss GM' and Marv.....I'll take Marv. Especially after listening to him at the PC -
1. Ralph is looking for a experienced, well regarded GM 2. It won;t be Modrak or Levy 3. That person will decide the fate of Mularkey 4. He already has someone lined up but can not announce yet. or, am I stating the obvious?
-
I caught that too! They can say that there is, but I am sure there is no confidence in this coaching staff. Too many players are shaking their heads. If Ralph has been talking to some of the players over he past 3 weeks, he'll have heard this and that will point to MM's demise.

Ralph's Comments....between the lines...
RochBillsFan replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One other thought.... I think Ralph is so P*ssed about being taken to the cleaners by Mike Williams...and having been sold on this by Tom Donahoe.....that there will be no more blank checks. I don;t blame him. A LOT of money went out the window with Williams.... -
Ralph's Comments....between the lines...
RochBillsFan replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the end, I think the only person Ralph has trusted to tell him the truth is Marv Levy. I think Marv comes back to the org in a high level capacity and, with Modrak, start to rebuild some of the scouting personnel/depth as well as overall coaching staff. Even with Spikes and Pat Williams gone, we let a 3-12 team score 30 points to beat us yesterday (okay....one special team score). I think the entire coaching staff is suspect (expections: McNally, Krumrie) and the staff needs to be in place before the personnel moves can begin. -
whattaya say we go back to our 1990's uniforms and dump these new pieces of garabage that we have NEVER been successful in. I never like 'em anyhow.

What GM Would Be Interested in Buffalo
RochBillsFan replied to RochBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Per NFL rules, the Green Bay situation of a 'Community Owned Team' is no longer legal. Probably has something to do with the ability to move them in the middle of the night, should they choose to do so.... -
when Tom Donahoe is so highly regarded in the NFL and was ridden out of town. Finding a quality/star GM to come in to replace TD may be a VERY difficult thing to do. If I were a Ron Wolf (or someone like him) I would think that I could be in a better geography and position to win with teams like Houston or, even, Detroit... So, the Bills will 'make do' by elevating Tom Modrak (which is not a bad choice). But if Tom M fails, then forget ever getting a established GM of significance to come to Buffalo.
-
Has Donahoe already been fired?
RochBillsFan replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. WHY would Ralph WIlson come into town to make this decision when Tom Donahoe supposedly has these responsibilities as President and GM? Where have been Tom Donahoes supportive comments or management of the issue. I agree. I think Tom Donahoe is gone already. -
he said it, he admitted it. the was absolute dislike of Hank (he was a Greg Williams kindaguy...completely unrelenting...and was always right).
-
Remember in the mid-80's when Hank replaced Kay Stephenson and the players sabotaged him? Maybe that's what we're seeing here. The players recognize that poor decisions are being made and have made up their minds that their not going to go out of their way to make things successful. I remember hearing the story about Bruce Smith, when the heat was really hot on Hank B, going into the huddle and telling the defense that "...whomever makes the tackle is going to get the sh-- beat out of 'em" ...ahh those were the days.
-
I don;t have a problem with Haslett...in fact I think it may be good. I think the bigger issues are players and OC and DC
-
Can anyone clue me in as to what the issue was?
-
This is absolutely insane ...
RochBillsFan replied to daquixers_is_back's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But I think that was a hold over from the schemes and org that Gray/Williams/LeBeau put in place. I want to believe that Jerry Gray was responsible, but am having a hard time concluding that after watching this defense (and, I'll admit, Spikes, Williams leaving has had a bigger impact than I would have expected). On Nate, I guess you're right..... -
Missing The Point....Today Was a Good Thing
