The reason I'm interested in some of the lower regarded guys, is that I honestly think one of them could be the best QB this year. Here's why I'm not sold on guys: Not sold: Locker - Inaccuracy Mallett - Can look amazing, but too dependent on a clean pocket IMO Gabbert - Very low YPA. Senses pressure that's not there. Choked hard in biggest game of his life Newton - Intriguing, but this felon looks risky Dalton - Looks poor from what I have seen. Not a pro-style offense McElroy - Looks poor from what I have seen. Not sure: Enderle - Somewhat polished in pro offense. Not as good stats as Stanzi, but had worse situation. Great arm. Not so elusive. Clutch Kaepernick - Has a lot going for him, but the type of offense he ran makes it hard to tell. Devlin - Haven't looked into him yet. Kinda sold: Stanzi - Polished in pro offense. Great stats that improved every year. Great arm from what I can tell. Elusive. Clutch

That was actually the Shrine game. He threw for a touchdown and two point conversion. I don't think he's like Brown, because he played under center and I found multiple places that said he is good at going through his progressions. On the last second conversion to win the humanitarian bowl game, he said he threw to his second read. Skipped the tight end which was his first read. Clip is below (start at 3:00)

Thanks for the info, seems like this guy is pretty clutch. He won his last bowl game on two passes - last second TD and 2pt conversion! So far I like him but not as much as Stanzi. I see them as similar except Stanzi is better at avoiding pressure. It's a small point, but Enderle seems to have a weird "tell" on his play action fake by lowering his head way more than he does on his normal handoffs

I think his release is the same speed as Jim Kelly, see what you think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXtADpsGs5k (Kelly, first pass 2:14) ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4x2UUWgv1NQ'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4x2UUWgv1NQ (Stanzi, first pass 0:26) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4x2UUWgv1NQ (Stanzi, first pass 0:26)

Physically I think you're mainly questioning his arm strength. Pretty much all the scouting reports say something along the lines of it being questionable. Two thoughts about that... 1) I'm not claiming he has a world class arm but I've definitely seen him "snap" the ball out there. 15-20 yards, in the senior bowl, while running, with a defender right on him. 2) To me, most important ability for a QB is vision and having a "knack" for timing and decisions. Anything you can measure physically are just pluses and minuses that tweak that basic ability. I see it similar to a point guard in basketball.

Well he beat Indiana with 290 yards. He only had 22 attempts vs. Minnesota and zero picks. Compare that to Gabbert, who threw an ugly pick that lost the final game of his career. Ironically against Iowa
-
Right, he doesn't half-arse the ball fakes. He doesn't seem to get the ball knocked down near as much as Gabbert. I can't find any real faults like you can with everyone else. He's not from a spread so you don't have to guess his drop-back ability. The only "dis" I saw on scouting reports is they're not sure he has NFL arm strength, but from what I can tell he throws super hard when he needs to, into tight windows too. I just wonder if there will be another team that sees it this way, and grabs him earlier than everyone thinks. Like mid-second round

Not that I remember. It sounds like a question for Chris Brown
-
He had a throw at the senior bowl where he was running out to his right with a D lineman right on him, and zinged a 15+ yard frozen rope about 2.5 feet off the ground where only his receiver could get it. Agree about the charisma, IMO he should be a lot higher regarded

Give us Tom Modrak's Head to Keep Us Interested
Superb Owl replied to Gabe Northern's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great thread, I agree this should be done. I think the whole scouting department should be overhauled. The scouts are also responsible for the horrendous draft record. They are probably Modrak guys. Keep the good ones -
Can we continue to rely on misdirection?
Superb Owl replied to Superb Owl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree, as long as we don't resemble the knife juggling Ninja Indiana Jones shot I'm sure Chan is a better poker player than AVP. It will be veeery interesting to see if he can continue against Bellicheat & Ryan etc. -
Can we continue to rely on misdirection?
Superb Owl replied to Superb Owl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Last year the misdirection worked in the first game, but then they got wise to us, or we just stopped doing it, not sure which. I will be keeping an eye on it and see if we can keep keepin em guessing! -
I love the misdirection plays, but I'm honestly wondering. Is that something that can sustain us through the season, or must a good team eventually be able to line up mano a mano and blow people off the ball?

Thoughts on Arthur Moats???
Superb Owl replied to Merle Haggard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
guy forces fumbles, practice and games so far. recovered a fumble vs colts too. playmaker? -
I was blown away with how he describes what it's like to play in the NFL. He's just so unguarded with the way he explains everything. Most players just talk in cliches, he actually tells you what goes on. With his apparent dedication and results on the field, it's difficult to see how he won't make the team

Jesus...Jason Smith OT

On the videos around draft time, they don't come off as the brightest bunch -
Thanks! () I love it at about 11:00 4th Wilcots breaks down a Marshawn run and the audio and video has a glitch. It's hilarious because his voice starts looping and it sounds exactly like he's rapping. LOL

1) If you don't have a bittorrent program yet, download utorrent at http://utorrent.com/ 2) Go to http://leech.tenyardtorrents.com/search.php 3) Search for bills. The rams game was on the second result page earlier today. Click on it, then click on the link near the top of the table that has all the info about that particular download 4) Click open, and it should launch the bittorrent program which should download the game (the copy I got is 3.5 Gigabytes but awesome HD quality)

Explanation for poor running in preseason
Superb Owl replied to jahbonas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope that's true. You also hear a lot that Willis was slacking off in the preseason. Hope that's true too, and that he unleashes holy vengeance starting Sunday. But what you say is why the D is so important, so we can stick with the running game til it starts to actually work! A really low scoring first half would be a positive sign. Come to think of it we did best in the third quarter of games last year, which kind of goes along with your theory.... I don't really care how they do it though, if they will just be kind enough to win a fargin superbowl I will ask no questions -
First I have to say hi to the people on this board. I have enjoyed reading some of the threads. It seems like a lot of people on here don't take stuff too seriously Now, this might be too challenging for some, but I will try to handle two issues with this one thread. First, what would be a good nickname for Jason Peters? The only idea I've heard is Peters by itself. I thought of "Big JP" because I would call him JP but we already have one. Surely someone has a better idea. Also, I'm curious... does anyone know if there have been any great players that also had low test scores like Peters?
