The fly-over state mentality
bills_fan_in_raleigh replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I love the comment " thats not Christianity that I believe in, thats not the Christianity of the bible", these are the sorts of folks that scare the heck out of me. Just like folks find and edit video and audio on you tube many faiths only teach certain aspects of what is contained in the bible. -
Some time ago I heard a commercial for a new book out about the Bills. I am almost positive Dobler was one of the refs and maybe Joe D and Smerlas etc. I thought I wrote down the title and google searches havent found me the book, It sounded like it was a new book. If someone knows the title please reply or PM.

The O-LIne at the end

I think Duke may be winning a starting job over Fowler. We seem to have had more impact when he and whittle were in versus fowler and him. Butler is struggling this year and not clear as to why I think he could be a stud. -
Obama Exposed, in his own words
bills_fan_in_raleigh replied to SD Jarhead's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So someone conveniently cut off what the actual question was that started the discussion. If you listen carefully and ignore the propaganda on the screen I think you will see he is arguing that the court wasn't radically and attempting to redistribute wealth. He later talks about redistributive CHANGE and never says anything about redistributing wealth. -
From Focus on the Family Action...
bills_fan_in_raleigh replied to buckeyemike's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
not sure about the hawks but the fiscal republicans and democrats that are socially moderate should form a new party. They would be the majority and this way the right wing republican party and the left wing democrats would get the 10% each really have as a following. -

I am republican and not very proud of the shift that has occurred. Maybe a major loss is what the party needs to shake it up. -
McCain's last hurrah?
bills_fan_in_raleigh replied to Max Fischer's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
But remember the Palin choice showed poor judgment and so di dthe way he jumped into the rescue package. Rethink that vote I really think he has no management capabilities and given his age/health likely Sarah will be fulfilling his term. -
First game of season seemed like they were on field together alot. Today seems like we never ran that scheme with both in and mixing up the play calling.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
bills_fan_in_raleigh replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We were outcoached and outplayed. How many times did McGee need to get beat before a coach makes the decision to yank him off the field, especially when he admits in the postgame he wasnt 100%. How many times do ya need to get beat on the corner and not make adjustments on defensive side. -

Why I will vote or John McCain

Great post. Its amazing how people still can believe the war in Iraq is about Terrorism, remeber Bush and company thought they had WMDs and than tried to make Iraq tied to 9/11. Afghanistan must become the focus on the war on terror. -

We still are a very divided nation. Look at this board, listen to the yelling on radio, red states and blue states. -

Why I will vote or John McCain
bills_fan_in_raleigh replied to scribo's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
10 things you should know about John McCain (but probably don’t): 1. John McCain voted against establishing a national holiday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Now he says his position has “evolved,” yet he’s continued to oppose key civil rights laws. 2. According to Bloomberg News, McCain is more hawkish than Bush on Iraq, Russia and China. Conservative columnist Pat Buchanan says McCain “will make Cheney look like Gandhi.” 3. His reputation is built on his opposition to torture, but McCain voted against a bill to ban waterboarding, and then applauded President Bush for vetoing that ban. 4. McCain opposes a woman’s right to choose. He said, “I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned.” 5. The Children’s Defense Fund rated McCain as the worst senator in Congress for children. He voted against the children’s health care bill last year, then defended Bush’s veto of the bill. 6. He’s one of the richest people in a Senate filled with millionaires. The Associated Press reports he and his wife own at least eight homes! Yet McCain says the solution to the housing crisis is for people facing foreclosure to get a “second job” and skip their vacations. 7. Many of McCain’s fellow Republican senators say he’s too reckless to be commander in chief. One Republican senator said: “The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He’s erratic. He’s hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me.” 8. McCain talks a lot about taking on special interests, but his campaign manager and top advisers are actually lobbyists. The government watchdog group Public Citizen says McCain has 59 lobbyists raising money for his campaign, more than any of the other presidential candidates. 9. McCain has sought closer ties to the extreme religious right in recent years. The pastor McCain calls his “spiritual guide,” Rod Parsley, believes America’s founding mission is to destroy Islam, which he calls a “false religion.” McCain sought the political support of right-wing preacher John Hagee, who believes Hurricane Katrina was God’s punishment for gay rights and called the Catholic Church “the Antichrist” and a “false cult.” 10. He positions himself as pro-environment, but he scored a 0—yes, zero—from the League of Conservation Voters last year. -

Nope not a bit. I am tired of this BS that we have seen for almost 20 years now. I am ready to give a party the rope and let them hang themselves with it. Than maybe Americans will wake up and rid washington of both of these parties and finally start electing social moderates and fiscal conservatives or start throwing the screaming radicals out.
