  1. Anthony Hargrove looked good because he was on an illegal substance. Let's see how good he looks when he's clean, if he can stay clean. I liked his energy but I'm not sure how much of that was authentic or just drug-induced. And I think EVERY team craves 2 mean defensive ends that the opposing offense fears. They aren't easy to find. But that goes without saying.
  2. Ah, he can have it both ways you see, he's paid by the Buffalo Bills. You don't expect objectivity from Chris Brown, do you?
  3. Who remembers when Mike Schopp tried this for a Sabres game against the Rangers? He was fed up with them spending money on players and tried organizing a walk-out for a period of time during the game. Didn't really work out all that well.
  4. SteveInAtlanta2008 all over again. Add another to the list.
  5. We could just stick with Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned...
  6. I enjoy reading Jerry Sullivan's articles. A lot of people have a problem with Jerry Sullivan and I'm not sure why. Some people just hate the fact that he's a Boston RedSox fan and not from around here. I could care less about that. Some folks can't stand when he's critical and forget when he praises the team. If you can't stand criticism of this team, why don't you just read the company line on BuffaloBills.com? And what are you doing reading this board? He's one of the very people who works for that paper that actually has an opinion. Bucky Gleason occasionally chimes in about the Bills. Bob Dicesare too. I understand why they limit the opinion columns on the Bills, but I can only tolerate so much of Mark Gaughn and Allen Wilson. They offer nothing of any significance.
  7. Don't get worked up over the schedule. Every year someone says the next years schedule is going to be tough. Truth is, we won't know how difficult it is until midway through next season. Every year some good teams become bad teams and bad teams suddenly become teams on the rise. For example, you mention Tennessee, and they have an interesting situation on their hands in the upcoming off-season. Kerry Collins is a free agent. So is Albert Haynesworth. Since we're playing the hypothetical game, what if they both leave? Suddenly, Tennessee isn't impossible to beat. You said Jacksonville COULD be much improved. By the grace of god, so could the Buffalo Bills. Any team could be much improved. The Jags looked like crap this year. Who's to say that will change? Tampa Bay finished the season off in disastrous fashion. Who knows if they decide to roll with Jeff Garcia. Houston has improved but we have them at home. That's a game you should win. Indianapolis and New Orleans are coming here and they are definitely really good offensive teams but will both quarterbacks be healthy? How about their wide-receivers? What if we acquire a pass-rusher opposite Aaron Schobel? As for the division games, we were in both games against the Fins and Jets. New England will always have our number (as long as Dick is here) but the other teams aren't difficult to beat. See what I mean? For every situation you lay out, there's an opposing question. We just don't know how difficult the schedule will be. It's all dependent on how well our team performs.
  8. bull sh--. Fred Jackson and Jabari Greer only got a chance when the guys ahead of them were injured and they had to play. As for your Edwards claim, guess how he got his first look? When JP was injured. How about Steve Johnson? It only took until the end of the season to realize that he's more effective than James Hardy. It was clear to everyone that Hardy wasn't grasping the system early in the season and because of his draft status he was getting more reps than Steve Johnson, which contradicts your point.
  9. Of course Kelsay supports Dick. No other coach would start Kelsay. He wouldn't be on many rosters with that salary either. I'm so tired of Chris Kelsay speaking for everyone. It's not like he'll be starting again, unless they're forced to stay with him because of his salary, and if they do - get used to more of the same from this defense. There's been 2 clearly defined needs (on the defensive side) going into the offseason; pass rush and a play-making linebacker. Unless Schobel is traded or cut (neither likely to happen), Kelsay is almost guaranteed to sit.
  10. The only thing that will make the fans forget about this decision (or not focus on it) is if they spend a lot in free agency and in bring in at least one BIG name, whether it be Haynesworth (won't happen), Suggs or Peppers. Not likely to happen. Consider every free agent move we've made recently and ask yourself, was there one single guy that was on top of the free agents list in that position? Yeah, we threw a ton of money into the offensive line, but it doesn't mean some of those guys were hotly sought after. We just paid a ton to get them here. There hasn't been an acquisition near the level of Haynesworth or Peppers. Doesn't mean that's the right or wrong thing to do, it's just that we don't do that. Best we can hope for is an incredible draft and a few bargain free agents that fill some of the gaping holes on this team. As far as not watching, it's not happening. We'll all watch no matter what. Not watching won't make nearly the difference that not renewing your season tickets would.
  11. No. The dude couldn't cut it in San Francisco. What makes you think he'd make it here with his pass happy offense? You know how everyone complained every time Turk decided to pass in shotgun formation on 3rd down and short? Yeah, imagine that frustration times 10 with Martz as your offensive coordinator. It's the worst idea possible, aside from sending an obit to the news about the Buffalo Bills organization. On 2nd thought, maybe it's the worst idea possible.
  12. Stop creating threads every 5 minutes. You could have kept this in any one of the 15 threads you've created today.
  13. Unfortunately guys, it won't make a difference. The deal is signed, they aren't changing their minds. The only difference that will be made is if they lose a significant amount of season ticket holders. At this point, who knows if that even matters because of the affiliation with Toronto.
  14. LOL. Best post of the day. These SKOOBY jokes never get old. In all seriousness, it could be about DICK's contract. Ralph could be desperately trying to get out of it. That would be disappointing if that was the news. I hope it's something good, if it's anything at all.
  15. Just a few thoughts/questions; I was thinking about Matt Cassel's successful thus far in the NFL and compared it with Trent Edwards, and it made me wonder how much coaching can affect a quarterbacks future and how critical good coaching is. Bill Belichick and his coaching staff put Tom Brady and Matt Cassel in positions to succeed. I understand that Brady is probably the best quarterback of all time, but he didn't just become that overnight. He wasn't amazing in college. I think he became the best with proper coaching. Of course the coaches don't throw the ball for him or make those clutch decisions, but I don't think he's nearly as successful if he is under any recent Bills' staff. I also think that holds true for Matt Cassel. Can you imagine if he was the Bills starting quarterback? Or the Chiefs? How about the Lions? Do you think he'd have half the success he's had in New England? I say it wouldn't be close. And don't tell how much talent New England has on their roster. They have plenty of really good players on IR. Hell, they had to get Junior Seau and Rosevelt Colvin (meanwhile we sign Lehman) after injuries on their linebacker group occurred. Which leads me to my next question; are there more Matt Cassel's out there that just aren't being groomed properly? I was going to ask if there was possibly more Tom Brady's out there but he's likely a once in a lifetime type quarterback. And when I mention good coaching, I'm talking about an underrated aspect of a quarterback's development; playcalling. Josh McDaniels didn't overload Cassel at first. Cassel looked incredibly average his first few starts. But they protected him, groomed him, put more trust in his abilities to throw the ball and look where he is, on the verge of becoming a multi-millionaire. One could argue he'll be someone's franchise quarterback because of the season he has had. That's incredible if you consider where he was drafted, how much he played in college and how much he played in the pros before this season. Just think about quarterbacks like Trent Edwards, David Carr, Patrick Ramsey, Derek Anderson, Sage Rosenfels, Billy Volek, Matt Leinart, Kyle Boller and Alex Smith. Think about some of these names; some of them were high round draft picks, some of them have shown flashes, and some of them have flat-out disappointed. You can't tell me Matt Cassel was so much better than these guys coming out of college. He had the benefit of working under a great coaching staff. Would some of those names have similar luck as Cassel if they sat behind Brady for a few years, and work with that type of coaching staff? Seems like a simple answer but I'd like to hear your take on it.
  16. lol. Sweet video aside from that terrible music that prompted some "What the hell are you listening to?" questions.
  17. I thought he was one of the better hosts. It's a shame he's decided to leave..
  18. He works full time for NBC as Sales/Marketing guy. Good paying job and stuff.
  19. Where the hell have you been, VABills? Last time I saw you was your "Temper our enthusiasm" thread (which was right). Too much PPP'ing?
  20. At least he knows what he's doing in the regular season. Maybe his reputation reflects the opposite point of view in the playoffs, but at this point I desperately want a team with a competent coaching staff and a playoff run. It wouldn't crush me to lose in the first round, just as long as we get there because I think we could all agree that with the current line-up, it seems so far away. We need a guy who knows talent. Marty wouldn't tolerate 2nd stringers like Kelsay, Ellison, and the list goes on. Guys who are capable wouldn't be waiting until the 13th week in the season to start.
