  1. No denying they do it mostly with defense. But Flacco has no interceptions, no sacks in the playoffs. Give him some credit. He made some big throws. Harbaugh also has something to do with it. How about that challenge? Great challenge. But my point was, continuity is overrated.
  2. Tell me their record last year with the same defense. Actually, I'll tell you: 5-11.
  3. And they're doing this with a rookie head coach and a rookie quarterback. Continuity, huh?
  4. I thought you could challenge that. No???
  5. LOL. That play clock was on zero for a long time. Talk about getting all the breaks...
  6. The definition of a game manager: Joe Flacco. If we could only swap defenses with Baltimore.
  7. You are absolutely right, not a single replay, not a single mention by the announcers. I'm not sure why but I'm rooting for the Ravens.
  8. How close was Flacco to stepping out of bounds in the end zone? That looked close!
  9. And guess what.. just as I post that, the Titans turn it over again! WOW!
  10. Truth is, Collins threw a boneheaded interception off his back foot, and L. White fumbled near the red zone trying to do too much. Don't forget all of the penalties the Titans have taken. Considering the defense they are playing, they're lucky to be in this game. Baltimore's offense has done their team no favors either. Loving this game...
  11. How about all of these injuries? Brutal game in the trenches.. Titans look like a different team without Johnson. That being said, despite the turnovers and bad field position throughout the game, they're only down 3 points.
  12. Fair enough. You're a guy whose viewpoint I often agree with and I was just caught off guard with the statement that he doesn't understand/respect football. I was hoping you weren't one of those guys who insist that you have to play the game in order to have an opinion on it. I can't speak to his columns from back in the day because I don't remember any of them but I agree with most of his stuff now. As you said, the Bills have been so poor, for so long, his points (I wouldn't call them attacks) are easy to agree with. I remember a few of his radio appearances with Schopp and the Bulldog, and he made his allegiance to the NBA pretty clear.
  13. He neither understands, nor respects, football? Is that because he didn't play the game? I hope you're not another one of those guys. It's not difficult to understand football, so please explain why you think he doesn't get it?
  14. I wouldn't mind Winslow if he can be had for a mid-round pick. I wouldn't trade away an early round pick or anything. He does have some durability issues and some baggage, but there's plenty of upside if he can stay healthy.
  15. Best movie I've seen in a bit. Loved it. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for something to do.
  16. Call it. If you need help deciding, here's some help.
  17. You are correct, he only beat one 3-4 defense this year, the Chargers. Here are the statistics I've got: -------------------------------------------------------- AGAINST THE 4-3 DEFENSE - (SEA, JAX, OAK, STL, KC, SF, DEN) W/L: 6-1 129/197 (65%), 7 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 1508 yards AGAINST THE 3-4 DEFENSE - (ARI, MIA, NYJ, NE (twice), CLE, SD) W/L: 1-6 116/177 (66%), 4 touchdowns, 8 interceptions, 1191 yards -------------------------------------------------------- This is taking into account that Trent only played the first few plays in the Arizona game (I still counted that as a loss and included the minimal stats) and only a half against San Francisco. He missed 2 complete games. I was hoping to find a big difference between the two but besides having a much better TD/INT ratio against the 4-3, everything isn't as far apart as I expected. In fact, his completion pct is higher against 3-4. Make sense out of that. The one thing I noticed is Trent hasn't thrown for more than 2 touchdowns in any game this season. That's not good. Statistics aside, Trent is 6-1 against the defense he is comfortable playing against. He is an abysmal 1-6 against the defense he isn't comfortable playing against. Aside from trying to keep the kid healthy, the coaches should be doing whatever they can to help Trent learn the 3-4. Then again, consider this: the 4-3 defensive teams he played this year had a combined record of 33-79, which means just about every quarterback playing those teams had success. The 3-4 defensive teams he played went a combined 63-49. (counting NE twice) Again, going into this I thought there would be a much larger discrepancy between the two categories. But the truth is in the numbers. When your quarterback throws more interceptions than touchdowns, your team is going to have a hard time winning. And yes, the argument can be made that Trent's victories came against weak competition.
  18. I never played football (I hope I'm still allowed to talk about it), so I don't know much about defensive schemes but someone answer me this: 1) What was Trent Edwards record against the 3-4 defense? 2) What was Trent Edwards record against the 4-3 defense? I'm aware that Trent performed much stronger against the 4-3. I'm also aware he played like crap against the 3-4. But I'd like to know which games he played against the 4-3. Someone with this knowledge, please inform us and we'll move onto the point of this thread.
  19. I stopped reading when you had the Bills draft a wide receiver with their first pick. The team has so many other pressing needs, it angers me that you think if they draft a wide receiver, their problems will suddenly be fixed. We desperately need the following: DEFENSIVE END CENTER TIGHT END LINEBACKER Those positions should be the priority. Not a wide receiver who won't make a damn of a difference, especially if we aren't sure the quarterback is good enough to get him the ball.
  20. I can't believe how many of you have given up on the kid because of a 'sore shoulder.'
  21. I'm all for the idea of drafting Rey Maualuga.
  22. He's good at the collegiate level, no doubt about it. Not sure how he'll do at the Pro level. I keep thinking about a kid who also attended Ohio State, played the linebacker position, and had a ton of hype going into the draft: Vernon Gholston. He's had a hard time living up to that hype.
  23. Thank you. I think the kid is overrated as well. If the football thing doesn't work out, he could always do what his father did; become a professional wrestler.
