  1. If you make close to 6 figures (I doubt many people on this board make half that amount, I know I don't), full benefits, retirement and an established 401k, and you're thinking about starting up a business because your buddy makes a ton of money on the weekends and you're concerned with your job security? Dude, people would kill to be in your position right now with the economy the way it is even if there is some concern about your job security. Everybody has questions about their job security. Just appreciate what you have, be thankful you can make a salary like that and do the right thing for your family. It seems like you're doing this because your buddy is pushing the idea on you. Think of it this way, you admitted you don't know how to do any roofing so the burden would be on your buddy at first to carry the entire load and he could only do so much. In order to hire help, you'd have to guarantee a lot of business coming in. It's possible, but isn't that too big of a risk considering you have a kid on the way? I'm all in favor of dreaming big but perhaps you should wait on this idea. Seems incredibly risky. Just my opinion...
  2. Let's end this Charlie Batch non-sense. He's had one good year as a back-up and that was in 2006 when he tossed 5 touchdowns with no interceptions. Aside from that, he's been barely average. If that's your definition of "good in that role," fine but I'm pretty sure you could find someone who could put up those numbers who also has some potential to be a starting quarterback in this league. Batch has no shot at that. That's what I'd prefer as well.
  3. Charlie Batch? C'mon. That'll only guarantee Trent keeps his spot for another year. How about we bring in some real competition? Anyone over Batch, who might the most overrated back-up in the history of the NFL. Every Steelers' back-up is beloved on this board for some unknown reason.
  4. Don't be so sure of that. Royal played plenty of minutes (when he was healthy) at the end of this season. He'll find a spot somewhere in the league, like the Lions. Perhaps him and Michael Gaines can reunite in Detroit. I'll put it this way, we'll likely take the cheap way out and instead of pay a proven free agent, we'll draft both a defensive end (which I am not against) and a center. As for tight end, maybe we'll even take one in the draft as well, in the 3rd round and hope for the best. I'm not too optimistic about this front office bringing in a stud from the free agent market. IF we do, it'll be an middle-to-upper 2nd-tier type guy at best which I don't have a problem with, just as long as we don't give him Dockery type money. There could be a trade thrown in there somewhere but as for trying to predict who, what position and what team, I'll let you guys figure that out.
  5. Not to put words in his mouth but I think he meant 0-4 as Skooby originally posted. Thankfully, Skooby's been wrong with just about every prediction he's had, so that means we can expect another 4-0 start.
  6. Best-case scenario: Bills don't draft a tight end, instead we draft a difference maker at defensive end, a franchise center and a good linebacker to replace skinny man Ellison. Then, Derek Fine turns out to be the answer at tight end next season, resembling guys like Cooley, Dallas Clark and Jason Whitten. Worst-case scenario: Gresham eventually turns out to be the best tight end ever and we were a year late because we finish 8-8 next season and he's picked in the top 10. Also, we re-sign Robert Royal for 3 more years. Most realistic scenario: We don't address the need for tight end, and draft a cornerback in round 1 for some inexplicable reason. To silence the fans, we draft a tight end in the 6th round who is somehow related to Schouman.
  7. You're the one who fell for: HEHE. How embarrassing. No matter how many times Crayonz does it, he gets a few every time.
  8. Perhaps the fact that the Bills don't spend near the cap room they have contributes to us not making the playoffs. I have no doubt the Ravens and Colts use most of their cap space, if not all. Think about it, it's not that they are putting such a strong emphasis on acquiring Special Team players, it's more about them not going after more free agents. Ralph doesn't like to spend too much money. And if the team continues to operate the same way, it would be foolish to get away from the best thing the team has going for itself.
  9. Earth to Mr. Sensitive, it's a message board. If you know anything about message boards, you should know negativity is commonplace. It's what keeps you coming back...
  10. Not allowed to make out with chicks who have kids?
  11. No idea what you're on about. Chicken Salad and Alex Van Pelt? Yeah, he probably doesn't eat a lot of that. I'm guessing he's more of a burger/fries guy. In case you didn't read it properly, I like the idea of our former back-ups being quarterback coaches around the league and here.
  12. Nate Davis didn't do himself any favors in his last 2 games with Ball State..
  13. If only he wasn't apart of Polian's racist inner circle.
  14. Why would he want to do that? I think Frank would like to make some money.
  15. Sup with new guys just quoting the original poster without any additional content? And give it up to the idea of former back-up quarterbacks (of the Bills) being quarterback coaches.
  16. Continuity. Does this mean Robert Royal and Chris Kelsay are entrenched in their spots as well? Great.
  17. It's all good. I can't understand all of the love for Leftwich. Nodboy was inerested when he was available last off-season after his failed tenure with the Falcons. Now because he's holding the clipboard for Big Ben, people love the guy.
  18. Hmmm.. you must have not gotten the point of my post. Someone pointed out their lack of faith in Edwards ability to stay healthy and I was simply questioning the logic of signing someone who has proved to be as injury prone as our starting quarterback. K?
  19. And you have faith in Leftwichs ability to stay healthy?!?
  20. Do you think it's a coincidence they had an extra 5-6 possessions? Dude, they beat the hell out of Carolina. I know you are judging them based on some of their games in the regular season but give credit where it's due, they ran the ball effectively in both playoff games. I'm not debating whether Philadelphia will beat them, I'm telling you that they ran the ball almost as efficiently as they threw it.
