  1. Apparently, I can't go two post without somebody making a comment.....Love it.
  2. Actually they were talking about how much money has been generated from the Big Ten network and that its close to being broadcasted on basic cable in all its viewing areas. The Big Ten receives 40 cents per subscriber to the network which last year generated an extra $6 million per school. If they go to 16 teams the viewing area will be so big that the teams in the Big Ten (or whatever the hell it would be called) could very possibly be generating more money than ND does from its NBC contract. There is talk to that the 40 cents per subscriber could be closer to $1 in the next year which would mean big bucks. Money talks i guess.
  3. Thats the word round here, they are targeting the "NY Market"...... Syracuse, Rutgers, possibly Uconn. Of course ND would be the big fish. There's talk if its 5 teams Mizzou would get an invite because it geographically make sense. Don't know how I'd feel about that, I like my Big 12 rivalries.
  4. "Spent all my money on a cardboard and a marker"
  5. Well the interlock's would most likely be set at legal limit (.08 for every state I think, could be wrong) so you'd have to drink a sh*tload of robitussin to trip the interlock, and if you were over a .08 on robitussin you still shouldn't drive. As for mouthwash, I'm assuming you don't swallow it, but alcohol that is not consumed into one's body and is just on your breath will only last for a matter of minutes....a quick rinse with of your mouth with water would be enough to rid your breath of the alcohol.
  6. No it doesn't, its about $75 for an install right now and then people pay about $50 a month for the service of renting them from the company that puts them in (another way of generating money). Those interlocks record data that is downloaded monthly and sent to either a court or Probation officer and many of these people will get revoked from probation if any alcohol is detected at any time. That would not be the case for the general public, there would be no reason to record the data because it wouldn't get sent to any court or probation officer.....the car simply wouldn't start. Don't you get that a court can charge whatever they want if someone is convicted of a crime? Courts generate money from criminals, and good for them. You simply can't compare what somebody who was convicted of a DUI has to pay compared to what the general public would pay. If these devices were massed produced and mandatory they would not be that expensive.....I would estimate < $300. Sorry I don't have an exact dollar amount.
  7. Honestly the technology is old as dirt so I doubt you'd even notice the increased cost although I'm sure whatever the costs are they will be passed down to the consumer. It's something that would not save a few lives though but would save thousands of lives every year. Its crazy to think with all the safety features and mandates on cars that we don't already have this legislation in place.
  8. Thanks for the review, I thought it looked funny but convincing the fiance to go is still going to be a task. Think I'll have to go check it out now......if it sucks I'm blaming you Sage.
  9. The piece of mind that drunk drivers aren't on the roads with you or your loved ones isn't enough? Its an extremely inexpensive technology.
  10. No thats my girl.....she looks a lot better when her teeth are in. She kind of has the Wade Phillips thing going for her, what can i say.....I'm a diehard Bills fan.
  11. Sounds like some one needs to smoke a bowl and relax.
  12. GREAT! I'VE FOUND A NEW WAY NOT TO BE IGNORED........IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM.
  13. I want someone to answer my point about ignition interlocks for alcohol being mandatory on all new cars. Would you be for/against this and why? I'm just curious to see what people think.
  14. Sorry, I came into the argument a little late.....agree to disagree.
  15. Ok so you're afraid of stoner bike riders? As for doctors, dentist, and financial planners don't you have to use your own judgment anyway when choosing to use those individuals or their services. I mean if they were going to smoke weed, they are probably already doing it...illegal or legal. Hell if you are going to use that argument, aren't you scared of a drunk dentist or doctor working on you. I guess I choose to go to professional who I know aren't under the influence while on the job...and if I thought they were I'd go somewhere else. I guess I just rely on that thing I have called good judgment and common sense.
  16. 3. You'd get rid of most the violence/crime involved with the illegal drug trade (the marijuana drug trade anyway) as the illegal marijuana drug trade would no longer exist.
  17. 1. It would create a lot of jobs. 2. You could tax the crap out of it. Those two alone are enough for me.
  18. Umm I did, that's why I asked the question.
  19. What the hell kind of rational is that? What about my proposition to make ignition interlocks for alcohol mandatory on new cars? Would you support that?
  20. Really in what way could a pothead harm you aside from driving a car?
  21. So Chef, read my above post about ignition interlock devices. Can someone tell me why these aren't mandatory on all cars? If they could develop a device for Marijuana would you be OK with the legalization of Marijuana?
  22. So you think alcohol should be illegal too?
  23. Sorry to here that Dean. My condolences to you and your family.
  24. Yeah, maybe I'll PM you when I harvest them and I can overnight you 1 or two. I was introduced to Datils when I lived in St. Simons Island, Ga, just north of St. Augustine. We used to get them at a restaurant I worked at (shipped from St. Augustine daily) to make our own Datil Sauce. Datils are probably my overall favorite chiles. Love those things. I've grown a lot of chiles from seeds but when you factor in the time/money factor, I've found that ordering live seedlings is the way to go. Just this year I had about 70-80 Jalapeno seedlings that I had grown from seeds, after about 2 months of babysitting the little fuggers i put them outside in a mini-greehouse trying to "harden off" the seedlings (a process that gets them adjusted to natural sun light and windy conditions). Came back an hour later to find that my 7 month old german shepherd had gotten out and knocked over the whole greenhouse and they were all dead . Anyway, so I just order live plants from this place......... http://www.chileplants.com/ Last year I ordered just a few datils from them bc i got some bad seeds from another source and my seedlings never sprouted.....the plants I ordered were nice and healthy. They have great customer service too....if you get a dead/damaged plant she will just replace them (from what I've heard.......http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/pe...44330348.html?5). Happy Growing Everybody!
