Every QB to ever play in the NFL has said "You don't learn anything by sitting on the bench". Start him and keep him in no matter what. If he sucks all season and never improves we draft high and take another QB next year.

He's the guys that went 0-32 in the first round of he draft!

Rd 1, Pick #16: QB EJ Manuel - Florida St.
MikeSpeed replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am one who thinks that there are no first round QBs in this draft. That said I was glad that we traded down, it took the sting out of the pick. Now that EJ is a Bill I hope he excels and quickly. BTW Will teams PLEASE stop helping the Paties by trading with them!!!!!! -
Whaley Bullish on Jones: the Landry six

Throw the top 7-8 QBs into a bag shake it up and draw one out. Look at your hand, look back in the bag, shrug your shoulders and walk away. -
WHY is everyone mocking a QB @ #8?
MikeSpeed replied to Flutie7Flakes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe my read between the lines sensor is on the fritz, here's what I've gotten from this thread... 1. We should draft a QB in Rd1 because they have the best chance of being good. Not just QBs but all positions in Rd1 have the best chance at success because teams are selecting the best players in Rd1. QBs in Rd1 are better on average because they are supposed to be the better QBs coming out of college. They are NOT better because they are drafted in Rd1 they are drafted in Rd1 because they are better. 2. So we draft a QB in Rd1, even if there is a possibility he's going to suck, because even if he does suck we can pick another one next year? The good old desperation pick. This has burned more team than it has ever helped. If the Bills are convined there is a QB in this draft worthy of being the 8th pick they should grab him. If not then they shouldn't. Simple as that. Wow I can see next years post already if they draft a QB out of desperation and he flops. Especially if they could have drafted player X, Y, or Z who made the pro bowl as a rookie. The same posters who are asking for a QB at all cost would be calling for Nix's head on a plate. -

Buffalo where the only good draft comes from a tap. -
Donald Jones is a New England Patriot

I hope DJ plays lights out and the rest of his team plays like @#$%. -
With the first pick in the 2014 NFL draft the Buffalo Bills select...Hmmm?... the card says they would like to defer to 2015 because there still isn't any QB worth the first pick in the draft.

We trade our first this year and next to Washington for Cousins.

Very rare does a player "test the waters" and not leave the team he is on. Once a player feels he's not worth the extra effort to keep them, pride kick in and they walk. Letting him go is worst than letting Byrd go IMHO. He's been the only foundation this o-line has had since he came to buffalo. Played where ever they have asked and held his own. Guards are supposedly easy to find, but football players aren't.

Did anyone else notice that no other QB is taken in round #1? So if we pass on Geno does that mean he'll fall to round 2? Most likely someone will trade up into the bottom of round one with the Paties giving them extra picks and take him. !@#$$%% Paties!

Here is my mock draft. Disclaimer: I have never and should never do a mock draft. 1. Matt Barkley 2. Ryan Nassib 3. Tyler Bray 4. EJ Manuel 5. Zac Dysert 6. Collin Klein One of them should show some promise. This years QB class is lacking, but I do not see much improvement in next years class. Arron Murray? Taj Boyd? Not sold yet! Anyone else? I can't wait until 2015.

It sounds to me like he was trying to temper those rabid fans that want to take a QB at 8 more matter what. They know there isn't a QB worthy and he is doing preventive damage control.

BREAKING: Bills release Nick Barnett
MikeSpeed replied to SBUffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It seems every year we do this. What I don't understand is why NOW. Are they due roster bonus'? We have no idea who we will get in the draft or in FA. Even if we did there is no guarentee they are going to perform well. Why not wait until after the draft at least to make sure we get the guy we are targeting? I don't really care about them being able to find a job on another team and neither should the Bills so that shouldn't factor in. My point is they are the best we've got (not saying much) until someone takes their spot. And don't give me this BS about "anybody could take their place". If that were so then why weren't they replaced during the season last year? I just don't understand the timing? -
Bills contact Fitz to Restructure
MikeSpeed replied to justnzane's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Excellent. Thank you sir! I knew there had to have been, but I couldn't think of who. I was more surprised that no one else commented on the orginal post I commented on. I just couldn't argue because I couldn't think of anyone. Now I can. -
Bills contact Fitz to Restructure
MikeSpeed replied to justnzane's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow I read through all the posts and I can't believe someone didn't comment on this. I can't argue the fact because I can't remember the last black player to restructure. Pay cut wise. -
Without hope all is lost.

The OP is absolutly correct I really had a hard time understanding her. Being a musician, I believe that the sound man had way too much mid-range on her voice. This tends to make the sound muddy in large venues. Not knowing much about her (not my style of music), I did find it rather interesting that in many of her songs her back up singer sang the chorus' while she just danced. Rap artist do this a lot for obvious reasons, but she can sing so it seemed weird.

Can We Get Rid Of Aaron Williams Quick Enough?
MikeSpeed replied to BuffBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Twitter, Facebook those are more personal than TSW. This place is a fan forum for posting your opinion of a player performance. It is what it's for. If a player comes here and reads something he doesn't like that is on him for coming into our "home". But a player's twitter or facebook account is their home, and is on par with sending hate mail. If you want to tell the player himself how you feel about him, say it to their face don't hide behind your keyboard. If you want to vent about a player to your fellow fans your in the right place. -
If it isn't a QB, I hope it's...
MikeSpeed replied to Wings and Beer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well if history really does repeat itself then... Marcus Lattimore RB South Carolina It's been too long since we drafted a RB with a major knee injury in the first round. Seriously, I don't want us to draft a QB anyways because selecting one of these guys is like asking what color Pinto do I want to buy. So I say Keenan Allen WR Cal. -
Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse
MikeSpeed replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A former scout on the Ross Tucker show this morning I think his name was Rush Lindy??? said that after talking with other scouts at the senior bowl that it may turn out that Nassib may go #1 to the Chiefs. He also said that he most likely will not make it out of the top 10. For what it's worth... -
Expected Superbowl matchups and winner?
MikeSpeed replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as it makes me throw up in my mouth... Paties over 9ners. I would like to see Tony Gonz get a ring before he retires, but Atlanta just doesn't have the horses. -
I agree that we need some play makers on D. But I have also observed that when the opportunity to make a tackle was there we were pretty sure at it. The thing I noticed about this D was we were so out of position during a play, and never generated any pressure. Those things I believe were coaching issues more than talent. This is coming from a comfirmed pessimist.
