  1. I think this situation defines some fans to a tee: They will be unhappy no matter what. If the team is losing, there will be endless complaints. 1. If the teams goes 10-6 and makes the playoffs, there will be complaining about not doing enough to put the team over the top. 2. If the team makes the AFC championship and loses, there will be complaining about how the owner isn't doing enough to make the team Super Bowl caliber. 3. If the team makes it to the Super Bowl and loses, there will be complaining about how the team is a group of "losers" because they can't win the big one. 4. If the team wins one Super Bowl but doesn't make it back within four years, there will be complaining about how the team isn't "elite" Those on this board who were fans of the team from 1988 to 1999 will remember complaining levels 2, and 3. Enter the internet message board, and you've got complaining levels on steroids. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
  2. Nobody knows how many people the team has interviewed, and most of the "sources" regarding how many people have been interviewed are pure speculation, if not deliberately manufactured to get clicks to websites.
  3. Agree. This is a comment board about the Buffalo Bills. There is an "off topic" board for the political stuff. Use it.
  4. More like............. having the best cover corner since Deon Sanders. The guy is special, and may become even better becasue he doesn't have Deon's giant ego.
  5. Why would anyone care what Quadry Ismael said?
  6. He also might be the last owner in the history of the Buffalo Bills. Whoo hoo! Bills move to (city). Won't that be great?
  7. Once of the announcers said his fullback has been laying into him for the last two weeks, pushing him to be more physical.
  8. The more "reports" from "sources" are generated, the more clicks from drama queen Bills fans they get. I don't believe any of it. By the way....for what it's worth, we just hired a guy who used to know Bill Cowher when he was in Pittsburgh. He says the Bills shouldn't hire Cowher because Cowher relied on the Pittsburgh front office. He's not a "do everything" kind of guy. I could start my own blog and publish this as a "source". Is it credible?
  9. Seems like a waste of time to me, since everyone in the Bills FO is incompetent, stupid, clueless, etc. If they're all of those things, why would they bother responding to fan emails?
  10. You may be right, but there's a small problem with that: Ralph is the reason the Bills are still in Buffalo. None of the "new guard" owners would have kept the team here. It's a wierd situation for fans to be in. Nobody seems to like the guy, but yet still have him to thank for keeping the team in Buffalo. However, the minute Ralph dies, fans will have a lot more to worry about than who the coach is.
  11. Beat me to it. I would also add: "What's the point of starting another thread about this subject?"
  12. I live an hour from Cleveland and get a lot of Browns' coverage. Trust me, Lerner is not in the background. Holmgren is going to get regular visits from him. As far as stability.....what? They've turned over the front office staff at least once in the last three years. Holmgren is bringing in his people. And if he doesn't start winning within two years, Lerner will get even more involved.
  13. Then take off your maid outfit. Wear a Sabres jersey and go to their games. I understand that There are also a number of other entertainment options available on Sundays.
  14. Seriously, you should visit the Browns' message board. You'll be in good company.
  15. The draft is going to be key for them. If they have a good draft, they'll be dominant again. If not, they'll be mediocre for a while. I wouldn't be suprised if all four of those picks go for linemen and linebackers.
  16. That's because Ralph is an evil, cheap scrooge who never wants to win! Never! And he eats puppies.
  17. Exactly. Byrd's strength is ballhawking, and most of his picks came in the deep middle.
  18. Eventually the drama queen threads will die out. Especially if you use your ignore list. Anyway, the thought of Suh dropping to our spot makes me all tingly. I've been watching some cut ups on You Tube of this kid's play. Right now, he's easily a physical match for any lineman in the NFL. Of course we know that NFL line play is much more complicated that just physical matchup, but Suh is already off to a great start. Once he gets his hands under his opponent's pads, they're done. He reminds me of Reggie White in college. Right now he's still making some mistakes that coaching and film study can eliminate, like locking up with his opponent for too long, overpersuit, and getting suckered up the field on draws and screens designed for that purpose. But If he contiues to progress at the next level, he's the next Reggie White.
  19. Almost everything that's been reported about this subject has been second or third hand. No one really knows exactly who has been contacted, who has interviewed or who has or has not turned the job down. It's simple: The team wants to keep the process confidential. They're doing it that way because it's an essential part of the process. No coaching search in the history of the league has been done "in public". At this point, it doesn't who they hire, becuase no one (at least on this board) will be happy with it. If you're an "old timer", you'll recall that no one knew who Bill Polian was. Or John Butler. And of course, the ultimate reality: Winning cures all whining.
  20. Sue US x3. And by the way, anyone comparing rooting for a sports team to the struggle against Nazi Germany is either practicing his metaphors for a writing class, or just plain stupid.
  21. The minute Ralph goes away is the minute Bills fans can start sweating the loss of the team. Then you'll really have something to complain about. It's entertainment. Theoretically, entertainment is supposed to be something you enjoy.
  22. Welcome to the world of anonymous message boards, high speed internet access, and spare time. I especially like the drama queen blanket statements: All the good coaches are gone! Ralph is cheap! They're dedicated to mediocrity! They just don't care about us fans! I've been a fan of this team since my father took me to my first game in 1968. In the 1990's there was the same small group of whining fans saying the same stuff, except it was: Four trips to the Superbowl and we can't win! We suck! Fire Levy! Replace Polian! Except in this era, the same type of perpetually disappointed fan now has an instant avenue to express his hurt. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Personally, I like the "ignore" feature to weed them out.
  23. That's the rumor. Supposedly the NCAA is going to bring the hammer down on them. They're about due to make some sort of splash anyway. Hammering USC would definitely send a message.
  24. I doubt it. I'm sure Bill likes the attention.
