  1. This is the normal course in the NFL. New head coaches bring in their guys. Guys they know. All the "name" coaches do the same thing. Parcells brought in his guys in Miami. Same for Bellicheck in New England. The NFL is a close knit network. When a team says it's doing a "comprehensive coaching search", it means they're calling people they know.
  2. I think the mistake that most people are making here is in the amount of control Ralph is going to have over the situation. Even if he tries to put some sort of iron-clad plan in his will, there's still no guarantee. Wills get busted all the time. There will be a lot of wrangling for this franchise once he dies. I also think it's a lot more complicated than people realize. It's not like he's willing his favorite tennis racket to someone. The potential value of the franchise, depending on how many people are after it, will be close to a billion dollars.
  3. I'm not sure Chan would be comfortable with that. Does anybody think Reeves is just going to be content to be a coordinator or some sort of consultant?
  4. And if Incognito can keep his hostility from boiling over, he mgiht fit too.
  5. And there's the ultimate reality. It may or may not be true that the only reason the Bills are bad is because of Ralph Wilson. But it is definitely true that the only reason the Bills are still in Buffalo is because of Ralph Wilson. I still don't get why some "fans" think Ralph is just a greedy old businessman. Actually when you think about it, Ralph's decision to keep the Bills in Buffalo was a bad business move. Especially considering that there have been plenty of opportunities to move the franchise to other cities, where his franchise value would now be much higher.
  6. It's a three year deal as long as they're winning. If they tank withing the next three years, he's gone and Jerry will buy him out.
  7. There are 32 of these jobs in the world, and plenty of coaches, both pro and college, want a shot at them. Any coach who has aspirations to be "one of the greatest" would relish a turnaround job. Imagine how you would be regarded in league circles if you can turn a bad franchise like Buffalo into a winner.
  8. Teams with bad records: St. Louis Cleveland Buffalo Detroit Washington Detroit Lions Tampa Bay Go to the message boards of those teams and you'll see the same complaints.
  9. Good. Now we're talking football instead of complaining. That said, I think the defense isn't ready to make the transition to a 34. My guess is that they will use the 43 as their base at least for now.
  10. Bills fans are very active. By that I mean on talk shows on both the local and national levels, and especially by email and internet. So companies like ESPN get a lot of response when they do Bills stories. Massive response makes them do more, whether the stories are legitimate or not. So any rumor started by anyone is going to get coverage.
  11. Yep, reported a couple of days ago. It's amazing to me how preliminary chit chat between people in the NFL who network with each other gets reported as anything other than what it is.
  12. Good to hear. It's also sounds like you have things in the proper perspective.
  13. Bye Bye drama queen........................
  14. Actually, his nickname was "The Pill", for Pillsbury Doughboy. Either way. Fat is a good fit too.
  15. You're probably right. The sad thing is the only reason the Buffalo Bills exist is because of someone named Ralph Wilson. When the old man dies, there will be a lot more to fret about than who the head coach is.
  16. A different perspective? What's that?
  17. Exactly what are you going "all in" with? Your feelings? It's a sport. It's entertainment. If it's killing you to follow the team, stop following it.
  18. Yeah, but Chan hasn't won anything! He's won nothing! Nothing. And his name isn't Cowher! I'm cancelling my season tickets, not buying any merchandise. I'm also going to avert my eyes every time I see a Bills logo!
  19. I think Parcells is either 70 or close to it. Not sure how old Huizinga is....
  20. You don't know whether he has a succession plan in place. If I were Ralph, I wouldn't let anyone know about the plan. You're right about one thing: It may be time for some fans to move on.
  21. I've been a Bills fan since 1968. Remember one thing......this is entertainment. Enjoy it. If you don't choose another entertainment.
  22. I'm assuming this is sarcastic.
  23. If you're going to throw 5k at something you don't like, that's your problem. Personally, I spend my spare money on entertainment choices that I like. I'm glad you love the team and want to support it, but remember that ultimately it's entertainment.
  24. I don't have a problem with what he's saying. I have a problem with the lack of percpective. That being said, he doesn't get paid to have perspective. But some of the fans of the team need it. There are other teams in the league that are in equally bad shape, with bad owners: 1. Cleveland 2. Oakland 3. KC 4. St Louis 5. Detroit And I refuse to believe that "nobody wants the job". There are 32 of these jobs in the entire world. Somebody wants it. In fact, I think that any coach worth his salt would love to take on the challenge. Obviously, not very many of the "name" coaches do, but to me that's meaningless. A coach has to make a "name" for himself to become a "name" coach, and they become "names" by taking bad teams and turning them into good ones.
  25. I have a copy of the game feed with no commercials, so I got a little bit of the comments by the announcers off air. They said the same thing......lots of blown calls for and against both teams. I remember a couplt of the Oilers complaining about the officiating, but most of the players took the blame on themselves. When you're up by over 30 points at halftime, you should win the game. I've to over 50 Bills games and that one was surreal.
