His specialty is the electronic film work. Breaking down game "film" is now a digital process. Instant look-up and retrieval. you sort of have to be a real specialist to do this stuff. Can't just walk in get it done. Plus he works 18 hour days almost every day of the year. Like Bobby April, he likes what he does and is manic about it. So that's why he is always there, but sometimes (like another post discussion) you get too good and noone wants to promote you.

Age means absolutely nothing. Guys have heart attacks at any age. Marv is fit and has a nice resume. I mean he's not being asked to play is he? Or sing the national anthem? And if an 80 yr old white guy can't relate to 21 yr old black millionaires, well neither can Dick Vermeil. Good people are good people.

BTW, Greg just signed a 3 year extension. He is now off the clock.

Inside info says - Modark is GM, Levy is Pres/consultant, - AVP out, Kelly if he wants to put in the hours (but prob not going to go for it), and Levy will take the time to look over the org and select/right the ship and ship captain. We'll see - tomorrow at 3. One other thing, Kelly has spurnned requests in the past. Now this may be all "common knowledge" to us here, but it is indeed the most official there is right now. First things first - and that is GM. All else is speculation. ie even Ralph doesnt know right now. Coaches take a bit of time. Look at the Herm Edwards situation. KC is going to have to give pick(s) for him if they want him. And with Williams off the table, there is going to be some shuffling. Should be another off season that is more exciting than the regular season!! So allow me to be the first (??) to say, Get 'er done TM.

Would you support Crowell taking Posey's position?
PatPatPatSack replied to billsboys's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aren't we a bit ahead of ourselves? Who says Spikes is back as his old self. Other than him and his agent. I recall a domanint linebacker that we once had that couldn't work through injuries, Cowart, and let's see, how about Conlan? I'll bet neither was as severe as what Spikes is working through. I think putting Spikes in is 50/50 to play on opening day, much less to play at a high level. -
Donahoe to be fire today?????
PatPatPatSack replied to billsboys's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right on. However, the fans always eat thier young. Goes back to the Romans and the emperor with his "thumbs up, thumbs down thing". I think picking NFL talent is a lot like picking stocks. Everybody wants a "professional", a genius. And when the GM picks good he's the man, when the stock picker picks bad, he's just ripping you off. Both guys know the one thing that we already know, but are too weak to believe. That it's a crapshoot and you might as well be throwing darts on a dart board. So go ahead and kick TD if it makes you feel better, that I guess is his final entertainment value. And bring back the old days of sports. -
Mike Marz...say what you want....
PatPatPatSack replied to billsfaninnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Without sounding like a broken record, I'd see MMartz as OC. I don't think he is HC first choice - unless it's a desperate stinkola team like Houston or Ariz. Or Cleve. But is Ariz in the market for a HC? -
Reminds me of another famous Bills QB debate which has been pretty much summarized as - "yeah, bottom line - they both stink" Them and this OL is a dead end. We will need to do some serious tinkering in the off season. Mike Martz is my choice for OC. Getter done - TD, i mean, Marv, i mean, Ralph, i mean??

Bills move McGahee to land top prize Bush...
PatPatPatSack replied to COACH85's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gayle Sayers behind this line would look like OJ Simpson behind this line. And both those guys would not be appreciably different than WM behnind this line. Reggie Bush would just increase the cost of the stiff running the ball IMHO> -
I love the guy. I mean I love Steve Tasker too, but I ALWaYs thought that Paul M. was a quality announcer. Steve is still not ready for Prime. But any ex-Bill is fun to listen to doing a Bills game. And it is still about being fun...

The only thing that this tells me, is that the team failed miserably in their goals - and there is plenty of off season steam blowing to come. Expect this attitude from anyone who really gives a rats hat. I personally enjoy it when players say, "throw me da ball!" To me, that is the right attitude. These are competitive professional atheletes, not corporate cubical drones. Sure they have to pull together, but I want my guys all standing up and talking tough. When they stop, it's time to get the fork out and stick it in.

Coaching Changes Around the League
PatPatPatSack replied to Amstel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't quite know if I follow your entire argument. But while we are always going to be in a quandry of "the coach or the players", still when a team achieves greatness over a number of years, head coach and coordinator are responsible. So while we might differ over the Billick=Defensive greatness part of the equation, what team would not froth over the demotion of Martz to OC? At times his offenses haven't worked, but even the great Jim Kelly KGun had good days and bad days. I think a return to those kind of performances is a good thing for this club. Those performances didn't come from Kay Stevenson and they ain't commin from MM either. MM (Mike Martz -- oh oh I see the problem already, MM = MM) however, is capable of putting up numbers for you. -
Coaching Changes Around the League
PatPatPatSack replied to Amstel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brian Billick has proven! that he knows how to be a head coach and can put together world class defense. Not just cause of his "killer" players, but those defenses are just awesome. I would say though that his approach to offense has been due to a lack of talent. And his offesnse cant be any worse. So that seems to be a good deal for us - a return to defensive greatness, which I think i ours for the taking, and we keep our special teams, and promote either Bobby April or pay him a bit more. Then (ok - why not dream??) Martz for Offensive Coordinator? That would be a dream team in my book and ready to start in the NFL and make a difference in year one. And lastly would capitilize on what we still have here. couple that with the promotion of TD to business only President and to Tom Modrak to GM in charge of talent and we are back in the super bowl hunt on day one/. And everyne is happy and continuity is maintained (which is super important to sucess). -
OK, tell me that if you did a search and replace on Parcels to make it - "Donohoe/Mularkey" and from Bledsoe to "Bill's QB of the Day". Then tell me that this is not the same thing we hear over in these here parts. Column: Cowboys Fading Down the Stretch 2005-12-21 A month ago, everything was lining up so nicely for the Dallas Cowboys. They were 7-3 and turnaround artist Bill Parcells was being praised for working his magic again. He even had the added satisfaction of his favorite defensive scheme and old pal Drew Bledsoe being major reasons for the success. Now look at them. The Cowboys have lost three of their last four games, kicking them from division front-runners to wild-card outsiders. The dismal stretch has prompted questions about how much longer Parcells will stick around _ and caused some fans to declare they're ready for him to go with a year left on his contract. Of course, many of those same fans might be screaming for an extension if Dallas wrangles its way into the playoffs. That's could still happen, though it will take a victory Saturday at Carolina to even be possible. The way things have been going, Parcells has no idea whether his team can save its season. "Why would I?" he said. "Any coach would worry about all of that. Anybody that says that he's not worried about it wouldn't be telling the truth." Since skating through the first 10 games with three lopsided wins, four narrow wins and three narrow losses, Dallas sure has looked like a team moving in reverse and building speed along the way. _At home against Denver on Thanksgiving, the Cowboys missed a short field goal midway through the fourth quarter, then lost in overtime. _On the road against the New York Giants, with first place in the division on the line, Dallas trailed 17-0 shortly after halftime. A quick rally made it 17-10. The Cowboys got the ball back five more times without being able to tie it. _Following a hope-salvaging home win over Kansas City, the Cowboys went to Washington and never gave themselves a chance to win. A 35-7 loss was their most lopsided ever against the Redskins. On Monday, Parcells blamed his players' immaturity for the meltdowns against the Giants and Redskins. He noted that there were only three mental mistakes in the loss to Washington, "so you know what the rest is involved with." Injuries and a lack of depth got them into this mess, too, especially on the offensive line. Having enough blockers for the block-needy Bledsoe was a concern all summer. It became a reality when left tackle Flozell Adams was lost for the season in mid-October. The Cowboys already had been using an extra blocker to help rookie right tackle Rob Petitti. Then they needed another to help the fill-in on the left side, Torrin Tucker. Defenses have figured out how to exploit that lately, sacking Bledsoe 15 times the last three games. The line hasn't been much better at opening holes for running backs, even if that hasn't stopped Parcells from trying. Dallas has the fifth-most rushing attempts in the league despite being third-worst in yards per carry. So how about shaking things up? Parcells refuses because the backups are three recent additions he doesn't trust yet and a second-year player he may never trust. "Just putting somebody in isn't going to make it better," said Parcells, who has whiffed on several OL draft picks and has yet to pluck a reliable blocker in his constant in-season "churning of the roster." Regardless of how this season finishes, it's fair to assess how far the franchise has come in the three years since Parcells took over. After all, three years is the longest he gives a player to prove himself. At 24-22 so far, he's way ahead of the 15-33 record Dallas had in the three previous seasons under Dave Campo. So even if he walks away tomorrow he can say the franchise is better than he left it. But Parcells can't be satisfied with what he's done, not considering the cellar-to-Super Bowl rises he oversaw with the Giants, New England Patriots and New York Jets, and not after going 10-6 and making the playoffs his first year with the Cowboys. Going 6-10 last year was a big step backward, except it convinced Jerry Jones to let Parcells mold the team his way. He put in his beloved 3-4 defense, stocked the roster with rookies and free agents suited for the scheme, and aimed for an offense that would burn the clock and not make mistakes. Most predictions had Dallas going around 8-8 this season. It seemed logical that they'd start slow and improve as things went along. So when the Cowboys started fast, expectations zoomed, perhaps even Parcells'. Now reality may be settling in, with this bit of uncertainty looming: Will the 64-year-old coach wants to try again next fall? For now, at least, he's only getting ready for Saturday. "I bumped into him this morning and talked to him a little bit," Bledsoe said Tuesday. "I didn't get a sense from him at all that he was overly tired or worn out, or any of those things that would kind of lead you to believe that it's getting to be too much for him." The next two weeks sure should be interesting.

Yeah! Ain't he an attention seeking jerk?!! 21!!! Good times baby...

Whatever EM was listening to at halftime

OK. I am a terrible person. I watched it twice.... -
I hear Dan Marino is GM caliber talent. Got experience too.

Yeah, darn shame you can't execute the coaches.

Difference is that we Pay Money to get the sully scope. He is a pro, and we should get pro quality from him. No one has ever called him out for insightful opinions. If I want dumb-a$$ opinions I can get them here! Which is why I'd rather pay for high-speed from Adelphia, than a subscription to the news. Not that the DA opinions are cheaper here, just that you get more of them for your buck. And sully doesn;t have a clever siggie or avatar either.

Another truly insightful comment. Brings alot to the debate.

It was a good write and a good read. Exposes the seamy underbelly of the TBD site and the trucullent goose-stepping that usually follows when someone writes an opinion that goes against the allowable parameters of the site. I've had relatively innocous stuff (to my thinking) wisked away by unfeeling moderators and I hardly EVER post. But besides, anyone who takes that much time and energy to attempt to communicate should at least get a hear-hear! out of this supposedly intellectual gang. This ain't no WGR here. Since to say your piece on this show you do have to know how to type. Maybe someone could do some stats on this and tell us how many metaphors per paragraph and isnt this some kind of record? Maybe thinly-veiled references per post? Or facisist accusations per pixel? There are some records here for sure. Good Post. Hear Here!

Just thought I should post. TIA.

This just in Theodore J. Bruski has changed his name. He will now be known only by his symbol - which is described as looking alot like an ! Theorodore or as we now say, ! - refuses to give it a sound saying only that he will known by this symbol. The press has decided for the short term to dub him the "Patriot formerly known as Teddy Breuschi." until a proper sound can be associated. Leading candidates for a sound involve noises made by blowing against your naked upper arm after getting it kinda wet first.

Teddy Bruskee came down off the cross and kicked the crp out of the Roman Soldier that tried to poke him with a spear. After that he ascended into heaven and told God that to take a hike as he was the new Brewski in town. Later he arm wrestled the holy ghost and just for laughs he took the devil and his minions and pushed them all into the pool. Don't look now, but he dug up Marilyn Monroe, performed a boob job for her - and now they party all night at Trader Vic's. Nah, just kidding... He only assisted on the boob job.

and Teddy Bear have a stroke.
