Mario's toes are hurting him ....
Buffalo Proud replied to shoretalk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A second opinion of Bills DE Mario Williams's troublesome foot revealed "no serious damage," and he's expected to be "fine." Williams' health has been the talk of Bills camp, but it appears they've dodged a bullet. Buffalo's $96 million man should return to practice some time in the next week. Williams appeared in all 16 games last season, but was diminished as he played through a wrist injury. We did not address the TE position
Buffalo Proud replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here's a TE, does that mean you are going to post something positive/like the draft more Chief? Chris Gragg Strengths: Fluid and smooth athlete, moving like a bigger wide receiver. Able to gain free release off the line of scrimmage with the quickness to create separation in his routes. Improved route-runner with a strong plant foot to make sharp cuts in/out of his breaks. Tracks the ball well to extend and snatch it with his hands. Does a nice job catching the ball in stride to pick up yards after contact. Nice job making contested grabs and staying tough over the middle. Has done a nice job putting good weight on his frame and working hard in the weight room. Weaknesses: Lacks ideal frame for the position and needs to continue to add bulk. Still needs a lot of work as a route-runner and didn't excel on routes that weren't shallow crossing patterns. Has had some costly drops and appears to have streaky focus and confidence at times. Needs to eliminate the mental errors, something his coaches have pointed out. Struggles to sustain blocks and needs to develop his technique in this area to compensate for his leaner build. Durability is a strong concern after missing most of his senior season with a leg injury and a history of several other medical issues. Compares To: Lance Kendricks, TE, St. Louis Rams -
Reason we "reached" for QB in round one.

Mel Kiper is a fraud, just like most of the MSM: There are many like this , this one is from bleacher report: Pity the fool who pins his hopes on the future. Mel Kiper is a trusted expert. He’s also a blatant fraud. When the NFL Draft kicks off this weekend, ESPN’s well-coiffed oracle will have already plotted the career arc of every big name on the board—which in truth speaks less poorly of Mel than it does of all those wayward souls who actually take him seriously. Humility means admitting that a guess is just a guess. Hubris, on the other hand, means assuming that a guru is really a guru. I’d never fault a hack for doing his job. A con is nothing more than the figment of a sucker’s imagination, and Kiper’s disciples bear the blame for their own gullibility. But let’s not mince words about the scope of the delusion. In a league where every can’t-miss prospect is a bust waiting to happen, the only guarantee on Draft Day is that there are no guarantees on Draft Day. Pride goes before a fall. Positivity comes before a flop. If your team blows it by passing on that sure-thing quarterback, they can always recover by signing a stud like Ryan Leaf. Uncertainty is a fact of life in the NFL. Next snap, next Sunday, next season—it’s a series of blind bets, an endless flip of a faceless coin. The irony, of course, is that football fans love nothing more than to be told what to expect. Mel Kiper is a beacon of clarity in a painfully muddled world. No wonder he manages to attract such a loyal following of desperately credulous sheep. Faith is good. Skepticism is better. It’s fine to seek the counsel of self-styled sages, but you should probably start by paying a call on someone like Tony Mandarich. Every prediction tastes better with a grain of salt. To speculate is an animal impulse; to scrutinize is a human virtue. Mel Kiper’s dirty NFL Draft secret is that he’s just as clueless about tomorrow as you and I, no matter how much time he spends blow-drying his brain. Man’s lot is to glimpse his fate through a glass darkly. There’s scant reason to suspect that the view will get any brighter when the Lions go on the clock. I'm no scholar on the subject of probability theory, so perhaps you'll forgive me for speaking the language of the guy who wrote the book: Ce que nous connaissons est peu de chose; ce que nous ignorons est immense. Which is a bad omen for prognosticators of every stripe. Because ignorance is the price we pay for consciousness, and any mortal who claims to know otherwise is an undisputed master of only just saying, is all... -
This is how stupid CBS is, case closed. Per their own website: He has an extremely strong leg and ended his workout by kicking a 50-yard field goal. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com 41.35% touchback percentage in 2012. Their draft analysis of Hopkins: "The special teams run continues! Hopkins is an accurate kicker whose leg strength is very iffy for kickoffs, and who could have trouble punching the ball through Buffalo's swirling winds." So either their draft analyst is a moron or Gil Brandt is a liar. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1664151/dustin-hopkins

Don't worry about the "experts", says alot that no other QB's were taken in the 1st round, ESPN and CBS and their F grades can go pound salt. http://www.mattmcgee.com/what-nfl-experts-said-about-the-seahawks-2012-draft/ Gave an “D-” grade overall. Says Russell Wilson will “be lucky to be Seneca Wallace” and the Seahawks “are no closer to solving the QB situation now than they were before 2011.” Pete Prisco, CBS Sports Overall, he gives Seattle a “C+” grade. He calls Wilson a “strange pick.” Says Melvin Ingram, who was picked by San Diego at No. 18 and has one sack in 15 games so far this season, would’ve been a better pick. Matt Miller, Bleacher Report Gave Seahawks a “D” grade overall. Called Irvin a “grab.” Says Seahawks “messed up” by drafting Wilson. Says those two picks were “just bad.” Seahawks get a “C” grade overall for their “blah” draft. Seahawks were “bonkers” for picking Irvin. Says that Wilson “has a bright future, even if Seattle didn’t really need him.” Vinny Iyer, Sporting News Overall grade is a “D.” He says the Seahawks drafted “defensive head-scratchers.” Dalton Johnson, Bleacher Report Gave the Seahawks a “C-” grade. Says the Seahawks draft was “full of reaches,” including all three top picks — Irvin, Wagner (or “Wager”) and Wilson. You might be wondering what Mel Kiper — ESPN draft guru — had to say. His full grades are “insider” content on ESPN.com, but this Mike Sando recap says that the ESPN crew gave Seattle a “C-” grade — tied for the lowest of all 32 teams — and that Kiper said he had “huge questions” about the Hawks draft. To be fair, some of the writers above admit that it’s best to wait a couple years before really grading a draft, but that sure didn’t stop them from making some ridiculously wrong immediate reactions to what the Seahawks did. -
yeah this dude is definitely a troll.

Did every single person in Buffalo with a internet connected computer see this? Last chance......... It's not as funny as the 47th time I've seen it but it still makes me laugh. GO BILLS! -
I think Peters asking for 12+ million is just a ploy by him to hold out again so he can eat the entire country from a recession to a depression single-handedly.
-
He deserves the money based on his status in the NFL no question but he doesn't deserve it from the Bills based on his performance in 2008, ESPECIALLY because of the fact that he let himself get out of shape. If he was a Bruce Smith type dedicated athlete give him the money but obviously he's not. Let someone else get stuck with him and find a real football player LT who has dedication and give HIM LT money. Don't sign him!

FoxSports.com's John Czarnecki reports that J.P. Losman will start for the Bills. This goes against what coach Mike Mularkey and the Buffalo papers have said all week. We'd wait for further confirmation as we get closer to game time. Dec. 24 - 10:26 am et Source: FoxSports.com what's the deal????????

SF player Herrion is dead
Buffalo Proud replied to Buffalo Proud's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
An article in the Deseret Morning News in August 2003 said Herrion became a 3.2-GPA student at Utah, after not qualifying academically for the NCAA out of high school. Herrion told that paper that beyond hopes for an NFL career, he wanted "to get into corrections, work on my Master's and get my teaching degree and go back to my high school and just work with kids."
