The Bills would still have lost. The Titans were undefeated at home that season and after getting lucky and beating the Bills, beat 2 other higher-seeded teams to make the SB.
-
The Sixers just prolonged their misery. They (and the Whyners) ain't winning this series.
-
That's the last gift game the Whyners will get!

Not an inside source. It was Chris Brown. I emailed him about it and he answered. The email exchange was before DJ was fired, early in the 2009 season.
I understand the skepticism, I'd be skeptical myself.
Come on! It was Ralph who made the pick.
Actually, not hard to believe. Jauron was given greater (final?) say on personnel matters with his contract extension.

Which is worse? Not voting in the primary for 21 years or missing 24% of roll-call votes as a Senator?

Sorry about bursting your fantasy bubble.
What fantasy? I was commenting on how women (usually) hate to have their age revealed.

You sir are an ostrich.
Oh, the irony. Why not answer the question?
This is the same person who ordered Wade Phillips to start Rob Johnson in a playoff game because the QB beat Indianapolis in a near meaningless finale. I thought April fools was on the 1st. It's well known that RW wanted Lynch badly as well. Do you work for the team or something?
The Bills had that Titans playoff game won if not for a ST's gaffe, whereas they were struggling to win games at the end of the regular season. Not exactly the best example. And let's go with the theory that Ralph forced Levy and Jauron to take Lynch 12th overall. You realize that they took Donte Whitner 8th overall just a year before, right? Who did they really want? Timmons? Harrell? Quinn?
The obvious answer is that Ralph gives his input into the draft, but doesn't have final say. If all you can give me is Lynch, despite 40-odd other 1st round picks in the Bills' history, you don't have much.

I seriously hope you're joking when you revealed that she's turning 39.

More like "it ends [tomorrow]."

I don't know why you keep framing it that way. Of course Ralph isn't going to demand that Newton/Gabbert be taken at 3 if Nix & Co. tell him that they aren't worthy of a top-five pick. But that's not the issue - the issue is how best to build a team. I do believe that Nix could rate those QBs very highly, but be of the view that other positions are higher priorities to make this team competitive (i.e., Big Strong Guys), and that Ralph could overrule him in that sense. And that's where I get concerned. Ralph has PROVEN that he meddles, and he has PROVEN that he does not understand how best to build a team. But he has also proven that he knows what it takes to sell tickets, and winning isn't a condition precedent to that, at least not in Buffalo.
How is it "proven" that Ralph meddles? Offering his opinion, which might or might not be taken by the GM and coach when it comes time to select a player?

The defense is so suspect that I really cannot believe anyone would consider blaming Miller. If there's a playoff team that has a defense that makes more mistakes in and around their net than the Sabres, I accept nominations. Leaving pucks behind the net for the other team. Inability to clear the zone even to take an icing. Leaving the other team's best player wide open in front of the net with the goalie for 4 seconds. I mean, WTF?
The rest of the league thinks Miller is a stud. Only his own fans question him. It's like in the 90s when Bills fans used to call for Kelly to be benched in favor of Reich. Get a grip people. Enroth isn't the answer unless the question is: Who's the guy the Flyers hope starts game 5?
I agree. The Sabres are painful to watch when they're in their own zone. With a halfway decent defense, this team would be amazing.

I agree, all of the QB's have a degree of risk, but honestly, that's just about every QB every year come draft time. That being said, I would much prefer to go D at #3 (or trade back and pick up extra needed picks) and take a QB in the 2nd, especially because I think Mallet could fall to us there and he is the guy I think is the best passer in the draft.
I'd consider a QB at 34, but Mallet has major character concerns.
So the question is...How are Bills Fans going to feel if Fitz does not cut it, we still don't have a QB behind him, and we win just enough to have zero chance at Andrew Luck?...Remember...If Fitz falls off in 2011 there is almost zero chance he'll be around in 2012...And this is The Buffalo Bills we're talking about here...Preparing for the worst case situation should be S.O.P...
And if that happens I'm guessing ALL the Fitz backers would give their left arm for Gabbert at that point...
Not saying that will happen...Just saying...
If Fitz doesn't cut it and Gabbert looks good, sure it will sting. But that remains to be seen.
-
It's either sink or swim with Fitz this year. All of the guys coming out have major question marks, so reaching for one early wouldn't be smart. Give Fitz the full prep time as the starter and get him some more help like a RT and a TE.

Doc,
It's really not speculation as in something pernicious, it's the fact that they have turned the futures markets into something that allows anyone to bet on commodities via ETFs. Anyone can now buy an ETF which trades like a stock, but the value of which is based on futures contracts--paper, based on another piece of paper, based on the possibility of taking delivery...
The futures markets no longer function like they were meant to because they are now overwhelmed by these so-called "investors," which is pushing prices up. This is why the airlines are complaining. I can't see Wall Street losing this one though...
I agree with all of what you said. But even if it's a waste of money looking into it because Wall Street won't lose, I'd rather it be done than saying "oh well." There is no reason gas prices should be $4 a gallon when there is NO shortage of oil, and on the contrary, OPEC will be cutting back on production.

Loved this comment from Miller:
“Murder, huh? He’s just trying to start spinning something,” Miller said. “He’s a smart guy, has been around a lot of these battles and obviously knows some attention needs to be drawn to something. I think he’s trying to draw it away from himself.”

I wonder what Easley's blocking is like......
Nix or Gailey said that the 3 best WR's in the 2010 draft at blocking were Demaryius Thomas, Marcus Easley, and Donald Jones. And as an aside, since the Bills had a need at WR and Thomas went GT, I still maintain that he was the guy they were trying to trade back into the 1st round to get.
Also, drew passed on Miami and came to new orleans by choice. He didn't like how Miami handled the injury issue. Miami had a decent offer out there.
Miami never made Brees an offer. They didn't like his shoulder.

Buddy Nix said on his season ticket holder conference call that he thinks David Nelson might be a good pass catching TE. We gotta find a place for this guy.
That's what I've been saying. The Bills currently have 7 WR's (sorry Felton Huggins and Paul Hubbard) and will likely keep only 6. Having Nelson bulk-up and move to TE would be the ideal move. I don't know how he is as a blocker, but he's a good receiver and he's got the height for it.
As for Easley, I keep forgetting about him. I like the receiving corps as it is, but if he develops, it's like found money.

Completely missed the point as usual. It doesn't need to be a QB selection for RW to have "involved" himself in the decision making process. After all, Jerry Sullivan has mentioned that RW wanted Lynch in 2007 (cue the Sullivan rant) and I'm sure that's not the only instance he's been immersed in a draft pick.
But because it's someone saying something negative about the Bills, it's wrong and we conflate the argument.
Wow, Ralph wanted Lynch in 2007. That's damning stuff right there.
Who did Levy and Jauron want? Another safety?
-
As evidenced by the Bills drafting ALL those QB's in the 1st round these past couple decades.
Nawrocki.
-
The Sabres are the worst team I have EVER seen trying to clear the zone.
And holy goal-tending duel!

No amount of money spent on schools will help. Attitudes towards learning must change. Starts in the home.
Bingo.

Peter, Peter, Peter, and the rest of those here that keep beating this same old tired drum. Sham? No. Negotiating tactic, you bet. Yet you cannot continue to beat this drum without also adding that the owners over a couple years ago, planned for a lockout and negotiated TV deals that guaranteed them an income stream games or not.
Get real.....
Why is decertification not a sham but a "negotiating tactic," but the "lockout insurance" isn't considered the same?

Given the resources and sensitivity/importance, documents like birth certificates can potentially be fabricated. So you'll get the skeptics.
But while Obama may not have been born here, but since his mother was a US citizen and lived in the country most of her life, he was born a US citizen wherever he was born. Why this isn't mentioned more is puzzling.
