They were the better team tonight. But they'll get smoked in the next round.

I eventually wind up seeing most of their movies, mostly when they air on free tv, but that one never interested me at all. I'm sure it's a good movie, but the whole concept of a movie full of talking cars just seems stupid to me.
Dumber than talking toys, bugs, or monsters?

Did he send porn to your email address?
"You sent this e-mail reply all. You hit reply all."

Good stuff. And it's interesting that people actually know what Whaley looks like. Nice going!

Disney/Pixar are back with "Cars 2". While collectively "Cars" is seen as one of Pixar's weakest movies it did sell a lot of toys. The plot involving Lightning McQueen entering "The Race of Champions" taking him and his crew across the world looks like fun and the idea of Mater getting involved with international spies sounds very amusing. Adding in the voices of Bruce Campbell, Jason Issacs & Michael Caine, should make this addition a delightful one.
I've heard this before and I just don't see why. It was a great movie with a lot of heart, sold a lot of toys, and apparently was good enough for a sequel. I'd put it right up there with "Monsters, INC." and "Toy Story."

Any player they take 3rd overall that busts will be a disaster.

if league revenue goes down...the salary cap goes down and thus the players salaries go down.
As long as there is demand, revenues won't go down. At some point prices may be too high, but where that is unknown/remains to be seen.
-
prices will go up either way...you can't just argue that the player's salaries cause the prices to go up. the players salaries go up because of the amount of money the league is bringing in. prices will go up as long as tv revenue keeps increasing, stadiums sell boxes, seats and ads. simple
Not quite. The biggest expense the owners have is the players. You pay them more, you need to make up the lost revenue elsewhere. Where does it come from? Ultimately, us.
-
Evidence to that affect?
What evidence is there that prices will even just stay the same if players get more money?
-
No, the difference between us is that I would not support my representative in DC if he/she voted in favor of a massive spending bill that they didn't bother to read or understand, but that ultimately FORCES me, against my will, to buy a service simply because I am a living American citizen.
You, on the other hand, are apparently waiting like everyone else to find out what the hell is in the bill before you decide if it's a good idea or not. Unfortunately, Obamacare didn't come from Costco or Nordstroms. You can't return it in 30 days if you find out it's not what you want. You get it, you like it, and you STFU about anything else.
Not my gig. Unlike yourself, I'm not real big on being anyone's B word.
Bingo. Although I suspect some people think that when it's implemented, it will be easy to "tweak" it to make it perfect.

prices will keep going up as demand keeps going up
Not as fast, though.

Could be a smoke screen.
Doubtful. It would be in his best interest to say that he's gotten lots of calls, even if he truly hasn't gotten any.

While this move was expect (by most sane people on this board) and is certainly a step in the right direction (read:saving the upcoming season), nothing will get done until after the appeal in St.Louis.
Still, for anyone who is a football fan this is a much better decision than had she ruled for the owners. That would have signaled a long drawn out process where all the power shifted to the owners and they would sit on things until players got desperate -- in other words, started missing game checks. This should speed up the process regardless of the final outcome.
Thats all fans can hope for now.
Fans? Giving more power to the players means higher salaries, more prices for everything, and it will be harder to keep the team in Buffalo/not move more game across the border. Just because more games might be played, it doesn't mean the fans win, when the long-term viability of the Bills/league is at stake.

not true. ive quit smoking. and ive smoked for over 30 years.
You're still an addict, but have will-power. Hopefully you continue to stay away from them.
Did he fail a drug test ever, and if so when, and where!
He admitted to several GM's at the Combine that he took drugs in college. It didn't see what/which.

If he was taking drugs harder than pot, forget him. Once an addict, always an addict.

all the guys mentioned are still in the league (and seemingly happy to be elsewhere). i doubt their current owners would appreciate them dissing wilson and they know that. why else would it take 4+ years, for stories that made the coaches involved look foolish, to come out?
overruling the head coach over a starting qb is the epitome of micromanagement. by implication, wilson has been very involved in football decisions. the lynch pick is just another example that supports this contention. and i can't imagine even you saying this was a good pick based on the outcome. pro bowl or not, the bills had miserable seasons with him on the roster, had much more pressing needs and saw his value plummet to a 4th rounder in his time here. strong work, wilson. it seems you"re content with this kind of stuff continuing (and it very likely will) but i truly can't fathom why.
Look, you can believe what you want. But if the best you can come up with is 2 examples where Wilson was more right than wrong (Lynch was the 2nd best pick of the 2 year Levy/Jauron error, regardless of how things ended with Lynch, while the Bills would have won that playoff game had the ST's done their job), while claiming that all the other stuff has been kept hush-hush for fear of "dissing" Wilson, you don't have much to support your contention.
This didn't really have anything to do with smarts, it had to do with getting the snap. This was only one of several botched snaps in the first half. This is pre season/week 1 type problems of the Center/QB getting it together.
Flutie had this down because he had been playing all year.
It WAS the pivotal play of the game. Titans got their only TD of the game after getting good field position due to the ensuing Punt off.
How many fumbled snaps were there in the Colts season-ender?

If you go by the value chart, newengland's* top 3 picks (17, 28, and 33) would roughly equal the 3rd overall pick. I'd take that trade in a heartbeat if i am Buffalo, but there's no way belicheat* gives up 3 top 33 picks for a single player. To anyone.
That draft value chart becomes moot with the move to more reasonable rookie salaries. There are only so many blue chip players in a draft, and if that blue-chipper isn't getting a ridiculous salary anymore, it makes the pick that much more valuable.
-
you truly believe an owner who makes the call for starting qb for a rare playoff game over the wishes of his coach would have any concerns about trumping the experts (gm and coaches) on draft choices? just ridiculous. in regards to flutie and the game, you and wilson obviously know better than the last bills coach to get us to the playoffs or the #1 receiver on that team.
it took a long time for those two instances to become public and even they weren't widely disseminated. does that surprise you? If there are 32 employers in your field, you try not to alienate one of the senior, "hof" owners. it's just common sense.
What do you consider "a long time," doc? Lynch was drafted in 2007. It's barely 4 years later. And the stuff about Wilson telling Phillips to start RJ came out about the same number of years later. How many years have passed since Polian, AJ Smith, TD, Phillips, Williams, and Mularkey have been around? Yet the most you've heard is that Ralph allegedly forced Levy and Jauron, who everyone has to admit were horrible drafters, to take a guy who actually made the Pro Bowl (which while a joke, is still a lot more than can be said about their other picks), and started RJ who left the game with the lead?
-
The Sabres will get some much-needed offense back with Derek Roy, and to a lesser extent, Jochen Hecht. Game 7 will be the Sabres'!
-
I'm excited to see what Wannastache can do with the defense. And if Maybin can't finally produce under him, his NFL career is over.
-
well it is a good example of wilson's meddling which you seem to deny exists. i remember walking into titans stadium and watching johnson warming up with the first team in disbelief...and cursing wilson.
It's one example of Wilson meddling. But that's hardly proof that "Wilson meddles," given the infinite other opportunities he's had to do so, yet we've only heard about two (and again, even if Ralph forced the Lynch pick, it was probably a better pick than what Jauron and Levy were thinking). Flutie's play was poor that season (5th worst in completion percentage, equal number of TD's and turnovers), the team was winning game thanks to the run and a great defense, and again, RJ left the field with the lead, only to see the ST's lose the game for the team.
-
To move into the top-5, the Pats would have to give up their top 4 picks, and probably more given that there will likely be modified rookie salaries, making the top picks more valuable. Can't see them doing that.
-
IMO, the Bills never would have been ahead with seconds to go. Flutie and the Bills offense ground to a halt the second half of that season. Defenses figured Flutie out by not letting him get to the outside and forcing him to throw from the pocket where he had ALL sorts of trouble finding his passing lanes. Just based on the second half of that season, Flutie wouldn't have done much, if anything, against the Titans.
GO BILLS!!!
True. He finished the season with a 55.2% completion percentage, 3,171 yards, 20 TD's (1 rushing), 16 INT's, and 4 lost fumbles.

Considering Chan was only asked about 2 players, I wouldn't read too much into it.
