Just how bad is Buffalo nightlife?
quikchomp replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That sums it up. There are no clubs in Buffalo that even remotely resemble the type of clubs you'll find in NY, ATL, or Miami. Maybe T.O. can build one! -
Donahoe arrived in Jan 2001; Reed/Thomas/Smith were released after the 1999 season (incidentally, the last time we were in the playoffs).

We'll find out tomorrow morning at 8:45 on 97 Rock. Kelly denies that Lynch is moving into the house.

Kelly sells house in OP and the buyer is Lynch

Damn, how could they have gotten that wrong? Someone really effed up. -
For or Against...tell me if you are wearing Bills gear
quikchomp replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just wore my Bills hat to the supermarket down here in southern Miami. -
There's an interesting story behind that one. He used to have a weekly radio show with Dan Le Batard in Miami, and they had listeners call in and give TO ideas for a TD celebration if he scored against the Phins. Sure enough he scored, and he did the celebration that someone called in with.

Is josh reed the next wes welker now that we have TO?
quikchomp replied to erikturk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. -
Where do you get that from? He signed a 4 year $34MM contract before last season, hence why the Cowgirls are taking a $9MM cap hit this year by releasing him. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3423170

Ive been curious about that. He said he was moving her mom to Buffalo and was gonna buy her a house, they talked about her bingo nights, etc....but last I heard she was back in Oakland. So I wonder if the family didn't end up moving to WNY.

Adam Schefter reports that there has only been one

That's exactly the most logical way of thinking. Anyone who feels otherwise just isn't being rational. -
It would be a great pickup for use against run-heavy teams...his coverage skills suck, but he's still a premier run-stopping SS. Bring him aboard for a year and let Donte roam free as the FS. Ironically, back in 2002 this was the guy I was hoping we'd draft at #4.

February 2010, Dolphin Stadium, Miami, Florida, 10:04 PM. Super Bowl XLIV in the books - Buffalo Bills 31, New York Giants 21. After a seven-catch, 124 yard, 2 TD performance, Super Bowl MVP Terrell Owens is handed the Vince Lombardi trophy to hoist over his head and proclaims: "I want to thank our Hall of Fame owner, Ralph Wilson, my teammates and coaches, and Bills fans across the country. This was a true team effort, and now the Bills and the City of Buffalo are champions." *snaps out of it* Okay, so that's not likely to happen. But anyone who thinks that T.O. doesn't bring us closer to that reality is without a clue.
-
Cool, I grew up in that zip code, a block off of the Blvd. near the DQ. As for a question - is there even a 1% chance the Bills will look into T.O.? Perhaps just to call Rosenhaus and see if there's interest? Rosenhaus has a (seemingly) good relationship with the Bills.

I just want the Bills to at least TRY. If he doesn't want to come, then he doesn't want to come. Apparently every player in the world loves playing for Dick Jauron. If we're stuck with him as the coach, why not use that to our advantage? Let him complain all he wants about QBs- the guy is awesome and would automatically give us a more dynamic attack. No other player available right now can transform an offense like he can. And you don't to give up ANY football assets!! It's a no-brainer. And let's face it - this fanbase needs some excitement. How many more years can they sell us on great character mediocrity?
-
What's the worst thing that can happen by signing TO? We miss the playoffs again? Let's forget about TO and go for another guy with a high motor and maybe squeak out eight wins this year. Forget about making teams gameplan against Lee Evans and TO and also have to worry about Lynch and Fred. That can't be any good for us.
-
I would love it if the Bills got TO. Trent can get him the ball just fine. We'd have an awesome WR tandem and an awesome RB tandem that not many other NFL teams could boast. It would definitely sell some tickets as well...

$500,000 per year is a ton of money, no matter how much these guys make. The average person on this board might make $500,000 in ten years. And over four years, that's $2,000,000 more. Let that set in. Two million dollars. People like us get jaded by all these big contracts, and all we see is numbers listed in a news article. These guys see it on their bank statements. $500k is a ton of dough and foolish to pass up. All of that aside - Jabari Greer is one of the good guys, and I'm really happy for him. Worked his tail off, made it against tough odds, gave us two solid years as a starter. In case no one's posted it yet, he had some nice things to say on the way out. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-6-21/...ew-Orleans.html

Could have, sure, for a discussion about if we could have gotten an extra catch or tackle. We were specifically discussing the difference between getting a Pro Bowl tackle and one of the worst draft picks in NFL history, which is a bit easier to quantify.
-
You could make a decent case we might have made it in 2004 with Bledsoe had we had McKinnie on our line. Everyone knows Bledoe's woes were he was a statue. Our o-line in 2004 was a disaster, yet somehow managed a 9-7 record and barely missing the playoffs. A top-5 or 10 tackle (which McKinnie is) could have made that small difference.

Anyone else hear Drayton Florence signed with the Bills?
-
It is alluring, but it's not as much of an advantage as you would think it is. Professional athletes pay taxes to each state where they play during the year. For example, if someone signs with the Cowboys, they don't pay taxes on at least half of their salary (8 games out of 16), but 1/16 of their income is reported in Pennsylvania for when they play Philly, 1/16 in NJ when they play the Giants, 1/16 for the Skins game, and so on and so forth. So it's still an attractive incentive, but not as much as most people originally believe.
-
This would be among the best moves the Bills could make this offseason. We need a defensive identity and leader. Even at his age, he is better than anything we have at LB right now. Just the attitude he'd bring to our team is more than enough reason.

Gruden next Bills HC?
quikchomp replied to Kettle Creek Football's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Uh, yeah, aside from losing the NFC Championship game by 5 points, he was never close to the Super Bowl. -
Bills in hall of fame game vs. Titans

I was hoping they'd wear their late 80s/90s duds. I miss those... -
Ralph's comments at the hall of fame press conference

Browns fans had the agony of knowing for the last few games that the team would be gone. Both are terrible scenarios, not sure what's worse.
