  1. I like that starting LB core for the most part. Was Mitchell weakside last year? And Crowell is typically strongside? Not totally sure. Poz does need to step it up a bit...
  2. Believe it or not, Michael Irvin usually has a lot of interesting and insightful things to say. He used to be on the radio down here a lot, so my dislike for Irvin has subsided in recent years. Same with T.O. actually - he also had a radio show down here that I listened to every week, and you could see a different side to him, and I grew to like him as well.
  3. Wow - that was an awesome article.
  4. Yesterday I was completely in favor of giving him his money and signing him to make sure he stays a Bill. Today, after seeing his contract demands, forget it. Giving him over $11.5MM per year is going to restricted even further what the Bills do in future free agencies. For the amount of accolades this guy gets, I don't remember too many running lanes being open for Fred and Marshawn on the left side over the past couple years. Some of it was Dockery, but shouldn't the best left tackle in the NFL be able to do more for the running game than what we've had? Let's get some value for Peters and let someone else deal with this headache.
  5. This is probably the 13,564th time the video's been posted since the weekend, and the thread is even on the front page still.
  6. I hope we get to embrace his showboating at least 20 times.
  7. Not necessarily. Sure, saying "move Peters to center, Hangartner to RT, etc..." is flawed. But, there are some players who have experience in different line positions (Hangartner, Duke Preston). Ruben Brown played his entire college career as a tackle, but was moved to guard by the Bills as a pro. For an extreme example, Bruce Matthews, recently elected to the Hall of Fame, played all five positions on the line, and made the Pro Bowl as both a center and a guard. So, while it was good usage of the word "inherently", it was actually your argument that was flawed.
  8. To quote Marty McFly..."No, no....oh please dear god NOOO!!"
  9. I heard about it on two separate radio shows in Miami today; Jorge Sedano and Dan Le Batard....really is ridiculous.
  10. Wow - someone criticizing players from "Thug U" who has upstanding citizen DARRYL STRAWBERRY as their avatar. He's never had any brushes with the law.
  11. Yeah that was a tough game. I'm a UB fan first and foremost (alma mater), but I live a mile from the UM campus, so UM has become my 2nd favorite college team. I think they'll be an improved team again this year, but I'm sure if they'll ever be able to return to the elite status of being a #1 ranked team and national championship contender again. There's just too much competition for players in the state of Florida now. Hell, there's now another Division I school just eight miles away. With USF, UCF, FAU, etc, becoming respectable programs, and with UF's recent dominance, it will be tough for UM for a while to get their "swagger" back.
  12. Yeah they def don't sound too bright...a lot of the U's players grew up in Miami and they have a similar jumbled accent...listen to a Roscoe or Willis interview as well and you'll hear it's tough to understand them too.
  13. Okay, name two players that came out of Miami in the past decade (don't forget - we're talking about a current "Thug U" - Miami earned their nickname 2 decades ago in the 80s) that equal Chris Henry or Pacman. And to top this all off - you're nominating Rich Rodriguez's Michigan as the new Thug U, yet while he was at WVU, he couldn't have possibly brought in thugs? Well, at least they now have 2 well-mannered and intelligent athletes.
  14. She was so much better before the surgery.
  15. I've brought this up before in other conversations because I *hate* all the negative attention that the University of Miami receives for being a "bunch of thugs", when there are schools like West Virginia that churns out the poster boys of the NFL problem child. I'm glad someone else is mentioning it too.
  16. He deserves it - but damn, I feel bad for him.
  17. I really hope Norton asks him some different questions. All 4 of his Q&As thus far (Press Conf, Chris Brown, Toronto, Shredd and Ragan) have asked primarily the same questions. PLLEEAASSSEE something different.
  18. Even going into the pro day his issues were motivation and attitude. No thanks - he is Mike Williams Part Deux. And damn he had some awful man-boobs.
  19. I heard it on 790 as well, but it was some random caller with "a source who works with players." He also said they are working out a trade for Tony Gonzalez.
  20. Well we can agree to disagree - because I've seen it every time I've seen a Sabre in out in Buffalo.
  21. Errr...have you been to Buffalo in a while? Sabres players get a ton of attention when they're out at bars and the like.
  22. Don't tell that to the Sabres players - most of them really enjoy nightlife in Buffalo and are generally treated like kings. Sure the NHL is much lower profile....but they're young, famous, and millionaires nonetheless.
  23. I think it's actually a great scene if you're looking for good bars. I've brought friends that were born and raised in Miami, that are frequents on South Beach, to Buffalo for a weekend and they all had a blast. If you're looking for clubs...well, yes, very weak.
  24. Some might say that Level (on Chippewa) is kinda-sorta a club. There's a DJ, dance floors, lounge areas, etc...but it's nothing special. There might some other similar type places...but I don't know of them.
  25. Not many - but you can still build a big place and not charge outrageous prices. Nothing like it in WNY exists - so there is potentially a market.
