  1. Just a procedural thing, delaying this: isn't there a two-week roster exemption for something like Peters reporting after the 53-man roster is set? That is, he can't play but no one has to be cut for two weeks?
  2. As I recall RJ didn't have a pain in the butt so much as he was a carrier.
  3. The media always predict last year's results, so the Patriots are still the best team in the AFC in July. Look at the Saints: in '06 they were good so sportswriters loved them last summer notwithstanding a tougher schedule, holes in the offense, etc.
  4. Does anybody here know who we took with the draft pick in '86?
  5. Poz questions for people who actually know the rules about these things: 1. I assume he's not eligible for Rookie of the Year. Is that right, or is it like MLB where you can play so many games one year and still be a rookie the next (for example, Jacoby Ellsbury)? 2. Is he eligible for Comeback Player of the Year, considering that at the moment he's a never-was?
  6. The real reason. Same-market teams never play opposite each other. You're good to go.
  7. 11. We will have one of the better D-Lines this year. 15. We will have one of the better Linebacking units. 16. We will have one of the better Secondarys too. We can all dream but this means overall one of the better D's. Based on the last few years, . . . er . . . um . . . uh . . . Huh?
  8. What I remember about Leypoldt is that he was a big guy and actually made tackles on kickoffs every now and then.
  9. My best guess: they want to call the pick on the phone before they announce his name. But that doesn't take very long either, so . . . . (unless they have to find his number). In other words, I don't know either.
  10. That's just a mistake. Playing the Dolphins late-season under a roof just throws away a major advantage. Make 'em play in the snow!
  11. How about we throw in London Fletcher-Baker and Troy Vincent? Oh wait . . .
  12. I met Tiki Barber his second year with the Giants at a promotional event. No question he's 5-8 no matter how he's listed. . . . which I suppose could mean Wolfe is really 5-2.
  13. FWIW: Tiki Barber's about 5-8. He was too small until someone else got hurt and the Giants had to play him.
  14. Whatever your affiliation, you have to think Lowell Republicans are pretty desperate to be thinking about this.
  15. FWIW, the usual pattern is to switch to the other side of the ball the next time a vacated/traded number is issued. In other words, the next #21 will probably be a defensive back. I know Roscoe got 11, but the Bills don't use single digits or teens on defense. They also don't use 90's on offense, which may not be permitted anyway.
  16. "Branch has the edge at DT in terms of potential, but Okoye gets the nod when it comes to production." This seems to be the exact opposite of everything else I've read. Has anyone else hear heard different?
  17. Rumor has it Denver's going to cut Plummer anyway. He's not exactly in high demand and Kubiak was his position coach in Denver, so Houston can probably get him for free (that is, without giving anything up fpr him) and take Peterson themselves if he's around at 8. So why make the trade to pick up a lesser RB and a QB you can have for nothing? Just for Denver's much later first round pick?
  18. Once upon a time the t-shirts were actually made by Trench Manufacturing in Buffalo. Trench had an outlet store on Seneca Street (I think) for seconds and discards where, long enough ago, you could actually buy this kind of stuff. I remember seeing a Denver Broncos Super Bowl Champs shirt there from the year Denver got destroyed by Dallas when Craig Morton was the Denver QB. (Yes I'm getting old . . . ) I'm pretty sure Trench went bankrupt and the outlet store is long gone.
  19. Jauron came here from Detroit. So you're saying . . .
