    The '91 AFC Championship Game (51-3; greatest game ever played by Bills) was played in Buffalo in January. This cover is from the regular season game in Oakland the following season, in December of '91.

    Maybe we're all misunderstanding this: "What will it be like to have [former Jaguars defensive tackle] Marcus Stroud coming back this weekend? It's going to be a homecoming, with a butt whipping. Did I say that right? A homecoming, with a butt whipping. Yeah, yeah, I like that [laughing]." Maybe he meant Stroud GIVES the butt whipping. Ya think?

    This could be crucial. With the expected heat and the difference in playing style vs. Seattle (with Taylor and Jones-Drew, Jax can be expected to run more) the Bills probably need a four-man DT rotation next week.

    This is the Bills we're talking about. Peters won't count against the roster for two weeks, if he's even ready to play by then. It's GUARANTIED that before he's activated someone will get hurt and go IR. Then it will only be a question of depth.

    Well, I'm jealous. I'll be stuck in Bergen County watching Jets/Phins ( any way they can both lose?) or St. Lou at Phil, with the Bills game updating on nfl.com.

    Just a procedural thing, delaying this: isn't there a two-week roster exemption for something like Peters reporting after the 53-man roster is set? That is, he can't play but no one has to be cut for two weeks?

    As I recall RJ didn't have a pain in the butt so much as he was a carrier.

    The media always predict last year's results, so the Patriots are still the best team in the AFC in July. Look at the Saints: in '06 they were good so sportswriters loved them last summer notwithstanding a tougher schedule, holes in the offense, etc.

    Poz questions for people who actually know the rules about these things: 1. I assume he's not eligible for Rookie of the Year. Is that right, or is it like MLB where you can play so many games one year and still be a rookie the next (for example, Jacoby Ellsbury)? 2. Is he eligible for Comeback Player of the Year, considering that at the moment he's a never-was?

    The real reason. Same-market teams never play opposite each other. You're good to go.

    11. We will have one of the better D-Lines this year. 15. We will have one of the better Linebacking units. 16. We will have one of the better Secondarys too. We can all dream but this means overall one of the better D's. Based on the last few years, . . . er . . . um . . . uh . . . Huh?

    What I remember about Leypoldt is that he was a big guy and actually made tackles on kickoffs every now and then.

    My best guess: they want to call the pick on the phone before they announce his name. But that doesn't take very long either, so . . . . (unless they have to find his number). In other words, I don't know either.

    That's just a mistake. Playing the Dolphins late-season under a roof just throws away a major advantage. Make 'em play in the snow!

    I met Tiki Barber his second year with the Giants at a promotional event. No question he's 5-8 no matter how he's listed. . . . which I suppose could mean Wolfe is really 5-2.

    FWIW: Tiki Barber's about 5-8. He was too small until someone else got hurt and the Giants had to play him.
