  1. That wasn't actually his name...and that wasn't using it in vain.
  2. I didn't say it "gets them off the hook". I didn't even say it was a bad pick. My point has nothing to do with the pick itself, only the attitude so many seem to have that Maybin wasn't considered a very talented player who was going to go fairly high in the draft (from what I saw, most considered him a top 15 - maybe as low as 20 - pick). As for your point, teams whiff on pick all the time. It's certainly not a rarity. And Maybin hasn't even been given the chance to prove he's a bust yet! Horrible first year, but you don't judge a player off 1 year. Not to mention their next 3 picks were just as good in their first year as Maybin was bad. So far things don't look good for Maybin, but he's about to come into his second year, going through his first full training camp, hopefully with better coaches (a big hope), and switching to a new position that on paper suits his physical make-up and talent better than DE did. Anything can happen.
  3. Okay? I didn't say everyone....I said a lot. Good for Mayock (who slotted Maybin to us in his mock draft, so it wasn't too shocking to see someone take him so high).
  4. A few days ago I went into the Archive and was looking at posts from this time last year. Before the draft there were A LOT of people on board with the Maybin pick, both fans and "experts". There were a lot of people who said we had to have him with out pick. Many more who said he wasn't their first choice (usually because they didn't want a DE), but wouldn't be upset with the pick. And most people agreed that he was a top talent in the draft. There were a few people who said he was too small and didn't have enough experience, but those numbers were low. It's an easy search, check it out. It's funny how many people here act like the Maybin pick came out of nowhere.
  5. The original post (or it's date) has nothing to do you making up random things to support your arguments.
  6. BBK hasn't let facts get in the way of any of his posts. Why start here?
  7. I love this time of year, when we get to hear how nobody is good enough to go to training camp for one of the worst teams in the league.
  8. I remember him being a solid contributor at LSU. Not dominant, but made plays. Given his track record I imagine he's camp fodder, but with all the holes this team has, I'm just glad to know the front office is out there looking for players.
  9. I'd add The Game with Michael Douglas. I'm not sure it fits as a "twist" because the whole movie you're basically trying to decide between two possibilities, but it fits the category as well as a lot of those listed in the link. Good movie and one of the few Michael Douglas movies I ever really liked. EDIT: Also add Frailty.
  10. I don't think so. Even if we go in to the season with same 3 guys we have now, I think Brohm will beat out Edwards.
  11. Why? We'll bring 4 QB's to camp anyway, what's wrong with Trent being one of them? If he's not good enough to win the starting job, who does it hurt?
  12. Unless there really is a concerted effort going on by the front office to reduce payroll, I don't see any reason to get rid of Edwards before he has a chance to earn the starting job in training camp. Early on, Edwards showed that he had the ability to play very well. At this point I have basically no faith that he's going to be able to get his mojo back, but I don't see any reason to deny him the opportunity.
  13. This whole long post, yet you made a decision about a player based on a picture.
  14. Who is that guy? Please list those times. I asked these questions before but they may have gotten over-looked in the thread. I'm curious to find out the answers. Thanks!
  15. I agree that McClain is a great LB, but he was a better player because Cody was in front him. Anyone who doesn't believe that doesn't pay attention.
  16. What were those times?
  17. From what you've heard? From all those inside sources you have? Message board chatter and mock draft write-ups don't make for factual source material.
  18. It surprises you that the biggest guy at the combine is at the bottom of the agility and speed drills? Kind of scraping of the bottom of the barrel for things to B word about, aren't ya?
  19. Have you checked out the message boards on Beachbody.com? This is the P90X forum. The threads are a little different. Some are just quick questions or discussions, but a lot of them are more like groups. One thread can be hundreds or thousands of posts of one group of people (early morning workouts, military, single x'ers, etc...). It's a GREAT place to look around and get involved while doing P90X. They have every question you can think of and always a bunch of people having the same experiences that you are. It's they type of place that can't ask a question, no matter how stupid you think it is, that hasn't been asked at least a dozen times before. Everyone's also very upbeat and can get you motivated to keep going.
  20. CrossFit is god stuff. You don't have to have a trainer for it, though it's better to have someone pushing you. This website isn't put together very well, but there's a ton of info and workouts on there.
  21. Ahh, Gander..... I spent a month there one weekend.
  22. Yeah....it's about that time.
  23. Quit yer bickering. GOOOAAAAAALLLLLL!!!!!
