  1. I agree that WR is a need and if they thought it was a big enough need to go there before a position like OLB, fine. But even if that pick had to be a WR, I think there were guys who showed better play on the field, and did it for more than one year. And again, apparently Nix/Gailey see something in him that they like. Hopefully it works out, but that doesn't stop it from being an odd choice to me.
  2. I watch about 8-12 games a week. I don't rely on the talking heads or the stats to give me my opinions. And SC was weak for most of the year last year. Outside of a couple of big wins that came from really poor play by their opponents. The funny thing about the replies here are that I haven't even said that Easley was a "bad" pick. Just that I think it was strange given what was available. It's funny how people are so determined to jump up and defend anything the Bills do that someone can't even find a pick questionable without being jumped on.
  3. Yeah. Try watching some games before blindly looking up stats.
  4. And consider that there are busts in every round every year and that the people who do this for a living make mistakes too. I'm not sure I understand the desire to immediately trash ANY alternate opinions.
  5. So? Obviously Nix disagrees too. What does that have to do with anything?
  6. It's the same deal every year. Once they get to the 4th round the talk is very random. The "name" picks or more popular teams get the time. Nothing new.
  7. He's just a guy that was on a pretty bad team that never really stood out. Apparently his combine performance had him looking pretty good, but he just didn't look all that great on the field. I think there was some really good talent at other positions of need that could have been considered, but if they wanted a WR there were some guys that really showed more talent on the field available. There must be something Nix and/or Gailey like about Easley, I'm just no sure what it is. So for me, it's a strange pick.
  8. Might be well deserved this time. Very strange pick.
  9. I don't know anything at all about Skelton. Can't think of a single Forham game I've seen in the past 5 years. He's probably a project in the same line as Pike, Lafevour, Brown, etc... so I don't see a reason not to take a flyer on him later. I also have to edit what I said above about Norwood. The more I think about it, the more I feel like Arthur Jones would be my number 1 target in the 4th round.
  10. I've heard Armanti Edwards will be playing WR.
  11. Riley Cooper: Will be an excellent slot WR I think. This is a pick I'd really love to see. Tony Pike: A project, but worth a late pick Eric Norwood: There was a lot of talk about taking him in the 2nd which I was very much against, but he would probably be my top target in the 4th. Arthur Jones: Would fill the other DE position perfectly. Mardy Gilyard: I'm partial to Cooper, but Gilyard is a close second. Aaron Hernandez: Not a need pick and I would highly doubt seeing it, but he's very under-rated I think. Would help open up the offense. I've said before I don't know much about OL scouting, but based on pre-draft talk/write-ups: Bruce Campbell Selvish Capers Jason Fox Wow....Cam Thomas is still there? I don't think there's a place for him at this point, but I'm surprised to see him still hanging around. Even with the two DL picks so far, I wouldn't fault the Bills picking Thomas as well.
  12. And they gave NE a 2nd round pick next year to do it.
  13. And it's a smart move given the holes on offense. I think it's pretty simple, Nix doesn't think the offense players (specifically OL and QB) that are there are good enough to fill the holes. He does think the Defensive players can. Not picking OL or QB doesn't mean the team doesn't care about those positions, only that they don't think the ones that are there are good enough. I don't know much about O-linemen, but I am 100% in agreement about the QB.
  14. Another surprise for me, but a good pick I think. Don't know much about Troupe, but I saw a bunch of games with Carrington and he stood out. I think he'll do pretty well in rotation.
  15. No. He's pouting about Claussen.
  16. Had a 3rd round grade from who? The same guys that gave Claussen a top 10 grade? Yeah....
  17. Wow....surprise. Obviously got the guy they liked though, and it fills a huge need.
  18. There's a reason. This is an excellent example of why all the pre-draft talk should really be taken as entertainment and nothing more.
  19. NFLN is getting them a bit early.
  20. I very much agree. There's a bunch of players I will be happy with in this round, and I think given who's available there is little chance of disappointment, but I'm REALLY pulling for Cody.
  21. Maybe Nix was just worried ESPN was going to go to commercial during their pick.
  22. Screw it......Welcome aboard CJ!!!
  23. Outside of the Bills, Oakland is always my favorite pick in the draft. Popcorn time!
  24. NFLN is saying Trent Williams. EDIT: And he's on the phone.
