  1. A Raider fan friend of mine and I drove in from PA for that game. He was wearing a Woodson jersey and we had seats way down front. When he stood up, some guy a couple rows back would scream SIT DOWN, WOODSON!. After a few times more people started picking it up. By the second half every time he even looked like he was going to stand up about a dozen people would scream SIT DOWN, WOODSON! I assume this is a "you had to be there" situation, but it was hilarious. Obviously he ended up with the last laugh. I moved away a couple years later, but every time Buffalo/Oakland plays the winner still texts SIT DOWN, WOODSON to loser. It's the only thing we've said to each other for over 10 years!
  2. It's the Bills; how could you not be concerned about EVERY game.
  3. Those quotes sound like they could be coming from Rex.
  4. It should mean that he's healthy, but not necessarily that he's ready to start. He's been out most of pre-season and season; he may not be ready to jump into a starting position and play a full game. I'd like to see him rotated in, but no reason to rush it the week before a bye.
  5. My guess is he won't start and won't play much if it all, but it's still great news. Use the bye week to help him get back up to speed and figure out where everyone fits best.
  6. Hey Josh, I appreciate what you're doing here and trying to do for your company. I'm currently in the middle of the two week trial, and honestly I don't think I'll stay. There's just so much info out there, it doesn't feel worth it. I can't think of a way to list out subject material that would make that change, but here's one thing I know (that has already been alluded to): If Tyler Dunne were still on staff, would pay the money. I would pay more. I clicked on every article I saw his name attached to, and that's true even though I often very much disagreed with his opinions. This isn't mean to imply getting him back. But if you're familiar with what he did, it can probably give you an idea of what many are looking for and why his name keeps getting brought up.
  7. Just checked NFL.com again and they say it's 4 and 5. I dunno. Based on performances so far, I expect 3 wins there. But I'm not worried about this Defense handling anyone's offense outside of Brady. Good or bad on that side of the ball is one thing, but if we're as awful at moving the ball as we were against Carolina (against these two higher rated defenses) it's still going to be tough going. If Glenn comes back it will help.
  8. Outside of an elite WR dropping out of the sky, this is the best possible news for the Bills. Here's to hoping he can stay on the field and they find the best way to utilize Glenn and Dawkins at the same time.
  9. Current scoring defense rankings: Jets: 22 Carolina: 7 Denver: 9 Atlanta: 19 I think those defensive rankings line up pretty well with how well our offense has performed against them. Not great news for the next two games, especially considering the loss of JM, as Cinci is #5 and Tampa is #4. After that the difficulty loosens up, except our two games at the end of the season against the #2 Dolphins.
  10. He's right, especially when looking at how severely thin this team is at most positions. But... That's really the key here. For the Bills (fan base), a wild card game is a Super Bowl. Consistent defense and a little luck can get them in, and that's all it takes for an outstandingly successful season.
  11. I only go to the theaters maybe once a year, but I'm looking forward to this one streaming. I've liked all of Aronofsky's movies and I doubt this will be different.
  12. IMO, yes. It's not that these guys can't have talent and absolutely can't transition to the NFL, but the offenses they're playing in do not work in the NFL and only work in college because the defensive talent is watered down. It's almost impossible to watch their play and have any idea if they will be able to play well in a more pro-style system. In other words, they're an enormous gamble (yes, even more than the already enormous gamble that every QB is) to bank the future of your franchise on. You're basically trying to build your future on a guy who can't be scouted/graded on one of the most important aspects of the game.
  13. A buddy and I were discussing this this morning in regards to the Browns. He was saying that even though they are 0-3, they're not playing too bad this year. I disagreed, saying that playing up or down to your opponents but still coming out with a loss is not a positive thing. The Bills have been through that type of team multiple times throughout the drought. I do believe that a losing mentality really can set in on a team. The Browns and Bills have it. There are a lot of people here who were demanding a complete rebuild of the front office for just that reason. IMO, it's even more important in the roster. I agree with what you said at the end, and at some point the Bills will need those star players, but those guys have been brought in before only to be totally consumed by the black hole that is the Buffalo Bills. The roster needs to be purged; the message changed; then the final pieces put into place. Even though I like what I'm seeing so far, I still fully expect a rough couple of years while this transition happens. I hate the idea of losing for even one more year, but I'm really glad that the guys in charge seem to know it's a necessity. Anyone not fully on board has to go, one way or another. All that said, I don't know if that has anything at all do with Williams, and as an outsider I'm on the same boat as the rest in being surprised and annoyed by the cut.
  14. There's a big difference between rating a college QB on how he's playing college football and scouting a college QB for how he might play in the NFL. The Heisman vote and the #1 pick are two totally different contests.
  15. To preface, I in no way consider myself any kind of talent evaluator...but just for fun: My take so far watching some of the games and all of the highlights I can find, Rosen is the guy I would take first. It's close with Darnold, but Rosen just seems to have the NFL QB feel to him when I watch him play. I think Darnold has the better arm (odd throwing motion aside), but Rosen seems to be a better NFL fit (again, this is just a general observation, not a scouting breakdown of their play). Allen is the kind of QB a team like Pittsburgh should take a flyer on in the late first round (unless Ben decides to retire after this season). He's got the potential, but rushing him on a bad team would likely be a disaster.
  16. Maybe if the Bills hadn't knocked a ref out of the game, the penalty would have been seen. Announcers were really bad. There was at least half a dozen times they screwed up someone's name while talking about a play. One time he couldn't remember the players name, stumbled around it for a few seconds, then just dropped the whole topic and moved on. Really bad. It does seem that way, and there's no excuse for it. This is their actual job; they should have a solid baseline knowledge on every team.
  17. The whole idea of this Panthers D is the speed and talent of the LB's, and apparently, the Bills' game plan is to attack that. Nice.
  18. Seriously, WTF are they doing right now.
  19. Carolina didn't seem to.
  20. Oh good, at least our D will be nice and tired out for the next drive.
  21. I think he was overboard trying not to get a flag for a late hit. You see him pull up as soon as Cam's arm started moving.
  22. Gotcha! I appreciate it. When I turned on CBS about half an hour ago it was showing the local Buffalo pregame. At 10 it turned to the CBS national broadcast, so I'm not sure what will happen at 11. Hoping it stays with local Buffalo feed. Sorry...I'm talking in my local time. 12/1 east coast. Edit: They just cut away to local broadcast and they're still on Buffalo. Looking good.
  23. I'd like to check it out. Out of curiosity, if it's youtube, is there a reason you can't post it?
  24. I agree. I left young and never wanted to go back to live there, but over the last decade or so each time back is better. I can't really move right now, but if I could I would likely move back to Auburn.
  25. Aaaaand dead....
