And if they choose to do so, all of those things will make it easier to trade away the #1 pick as well.

It's really not the best comparison, but I always think of Flutie when I watch Locker. He's an athletic guy, not the best pure QB or thrower, but he has a knack for making things happen and he makes people around him look better. While I think Luck and Mallet have more pure QB skill than Locker, I think I would take Locker over both of them for my college team. How that relates to NFL success....no clue.

Oh Boise A 2011 QB Consideration ??
Acantha replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nah, Winslow isn't an NFL QB. He's fun to watch at the college level, but he's a backup at best, and I doubt he really sticks anywhere for long in that capacity either. -
I imagine that would be a very peaceful problem for SDS. BTW, I'm still seeing about 95% of avatars.

Found a uniform worse than the Bills!
Acantha replied to Richmond_Bills's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Funny thing is, I never had a doubt they'd find a way to win. They're like the anti-Bills. -
Yeah, I can tell. All of your posts on the subject scream indifference.

Informed or not, they are opinions. The best GM's in the league with the best recruiters make mistakes all the time in the draft. Owners who have been doing this for years make mistakes with GM's. Peter King writes articles and doesn't get everything right...GASP!!! Get over it.

Yeah, pretty tough to go back and look on things after the fact. PK isn't an owner or GM, he's a journalist. He writes his opinions, that's it. Who cares after that?

Housh speculation finally over.
Acantha replied to Buffalo Billy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You mean that one thread where it was talked about for a little while and then went away? Yeah, thank god that is finally over. -
I agree. I think the fact that even as a homer I can't see a chance of the Bills making the playoffs, if Chan someone gets them there he certainly deserves to be in the race.

Use the Chat room NOT the Shout Box for the game...
Acantha replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are also those who can't get into the chat rooms due to various restrictions at work. I know we have some members in the military who are deployed and count on board and thread as their only real info on the game. Just food for thought. Along the top ribbon, just below the helmet. -
Dominique Byrd was a good prospect coming out of college, but hasn't done anyting in the pros. I was looking for TE's given our problems, his name stuck out. I'd assume the guys we temporarily signed are probably just as good fill-ins.

Annual Worst Version of Worst College Football Poll
Acantha replied to bartshan-83's topic in College Football
I wouldn't count ND out quite so much. I really became a big fan of Kelley the last couple years and watched a lot of Cinci games because of it. Even with the rough years ND has gone through, they have had some great recruiting classes. Kelley will have a FAR more talented team to work with this year than he ever had at ND. Any coaching change will have it's transitional problems, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Kelley get ND their first big bowl win this season. (and I wouldn't count a BCS bowl either). As I said above, Meyere has already proven he can succeed with a QB not suited perfectly to the spread. Brantley is also a better passer AND runner than Leak was. There's no way to replace Tebow, but QB isn't Florida's biggest problem. My guess is they lose 2-3 games this year, most likely because of poor defense. Not having Charlie Strong is going to hurt. I can't see them losing to Tennessee though. A loss is possible in any game, but Tennessee's is still in turmoil after losing two coaches in two seasons...Florida would really have to **** the bed to lose to them this year. I think LSU and Alabama will be tough games that could go either way. Until they prove me wrong, I'll never give Ohio St the benefit of the doubt again. -
Will he teach them how to fall? We weren't nearly effective enough at that.

I don't blame the cops as much as many here do. I don't think the way they went about things is exactly good, but I would assume for every case like this, there's hundreds where it's an abused girl in a horrible situation who is just too scared to say anything. While I can't say it's acceptable to falsley accuse someone of something like this, it's also very important to make sure actual sexual assault is dealt with immediately. That being the case, mistakes will be made. I find far more fault with a system that is too busy or too strict to take the full story into account. Much like the case of that high school football player that was sent to jail for having sex with his girlfriend who was like two years younger (can't remember all the details, but it was all over ESPN, Oprah, 60 Minutes, etc... a couple years ago), sometimes you have to let the dust settle and let common sense take the place of swift judicial action. When all the details come out in a case like this, the sex offender label should come off.

Maybe I misunderstood what you meant by "that isn't what the article was about." As you just said, the article did talk about kindergaten being tougher now than it used to be, and he just gave his opinion as to why. The article also does say that becuase parents are sending their kids to day care far more than they used to (due to two income households) that kids are getting that early education before kindergarten, so kindergarten has become the new 1st grade. While a lot of parents want to send their kids to school so that they don't have to pay for daycare, there are many that also worried abou the psyche of their kids going to school before they are ready. The article talked about a bunch of different mind-frames of parents, not just one. So the counter-intuitive argument doesn't make sense to me.

I thought so too.

I thought you had it last year? The gametime thing hasn't changed, it was the same last year whether you had it or not. I lived in Hawaii for most of the season last year, so with the time difference, it worked out well. During the time I was on the east coast, I usually watched the Bills before MNF started (no halftime or commercials really speeds the games up), and any other games outside of the Bills that I wanted to watch I went through later in the week. Didn't really care about knowing the score then. If you can stay up late enough, it's great to watch it after midnight. But since I don't, I don't expect to be able to watch the game without knowing the score. It's still worth it for me to be able to see the full games.

Actually, pretty much that exact things was in the article.
