  1. I was about to bring it up, but only to show Bartshan that great Christmas songs are still being made!!
  2. I have to say this is a very disappointing thread.
  3. This is what I do, canceled my cable subscription about a year ago. I do plan on paying for Hulu Plus soon, though. The only downside is sports, and for me mostly just college football (the Bills are hardly ever on TV anyway and I have no plans on paying for Sunday Ticket). I was out of the country this year during most of the season, so I didn't have to worry about it, but next season I'll have to figure out what I want to do. May have to sign up for cable for a few months each year. Though I may be able to get what I want between ESPN 3, sports bars and the occasional streaming site.
  4. Nova Scotia? Ummmm....okay.
  5. I'm just really excited to finally see some Newton talk around here!!
  6. There's a big difference between that "wow" factor in college ball and what it takes to be an NFL QB. IMO, Luck is the most sure NFL prospect since Matt Ryan, and in fact I think he's better (though his transition would benefit greatly from at least one more year in college). Those types of players don't come around very often. The difference is what happens after those 8 games. Luck may start out as the 4th best on the roster (I don't agree...he would be at worst 3 by the times games started), but assuming that at some point any of these guys take over for Fitz, Luck would be able to take things much further (of course assuming he lives up to his potential which at this point is all we have to base him on). I agree with you that due to the mess this whole team is in, QB is not the route to go with the first pick. Most of the picks should be focused on defense and a RT if a good enough one is available. But dismissing Luck because we have other young guys on the roster doesn't make sense to me. While I don't think it's the right way to go right now, there is a very valid argument that no matter what you have on your team, you never pass up on a franchise QB. I think it's better for the team to address the defense given how well Fitz is playing, but that wouldn't keep me from being very excited if he's picked.
  7. So is the fact that someone that thinks power rankings are worthless takes the time to post about it in every power rankings thread.
  8. Short term, it sucks. Long term, it could be the best thing that ever happened to him. Hopefully he reacts to it the right way.
  9. LOL. Crazy how this has taken off. I think it was on every late night show last night.
  10. I couldn't believe they didn't pull him at the end.
  11. Johnson had 7 catches for 68 yards and kept us in the game. McKelvin had a solid game and gave us incredible field position with a 49 yard kickoff return. Kelsay made a huge play that kept us in the game and was getting pressure throughout the day. Believe it or not, there were more than 3 plays yesterday. There's a reason they went late into overtime against a team that was supposed to be far superior.
  12. Are you kidding? The media is going to try to do whatever they can to make a story bigger than it is. It's just what they do. Not sure who asked the question at the press conference yesterday, but they seemed to be trying to make some drama out of Stevie not paying attention to the game after his drop. The only thing I can guess is that they wanted to say that all he cared about was himself and gave up on the team after the drop.
  13. Yep, it's a good move on both sides. Right now TCU will pretty much have the run of the conference and it will give the big east coaches some face time in a big recruiting area.
  14. He didn't do much today, but he did have double coverage on almost every single play. I kept waiting for him to draw single coverage, and I only noticed it twice...one was a run play.
  15. He was shiny.
  16. Thanks everyone for the help!
  17. Thank you. From the link you provided, would you say about where Shadow Ln hits US 20, or even before that? California?
  18. I believe I've parked there before, that's just down from lot 1, right? Is there a better direction to come in and get out? Does it fill up if we get there late? Thanks for the help.
  19. I'm heading to NY tomorrow to see some family and just found out that my father got tickets for us to the game Sunday. I've only been to the Ralph about half a dozen times, and each time I got there really early and stayed for a few hours after the game. In other words, I didn't really care about traffic or where I parked. My father doesn't really get out that often and really just got the tickets because he knows I'd like them. He wouldn't really be in to tailgating, so I'd like to get there later and just get right into the stadium. Same deal for leaving...quick departure so he can get home if he's feeling a little Can anybody give me any ideas for the best places to park to achieve this? I know it's going to be crazy traffic no matter what, I'm just looking for good options. Like I said, I've haven't been there that much, so specifics (road names, landmarks, etc...) would be helpful. Don't mind walking a bit, but if it's a ways let me know so I know how much time to give him. Thanks!
  20. Seconded.
  21. I'm not sure who would have been able to call that timeout and I don't think they had time to do it, but everyone saying the play isn't possible should look at the play RIGHT BEFORE this play. 9 seconds left on the clock, run play up the middle, an immediate time-out, 5 seconds left on the clock. When the 1 second was added to the clock the ref did say Cinci called their final timeout. Again, that last play took a little extra time as the pile was being pushed so I find it very hard to believe everything went down perfect enough for Cinci to call the TO, but it could happen.
  22. The libertarian in you wants the government to tax something?
  23. Toss my name in the hat!
  24. I saw a similar thing happen once. The kid wasn't hurt, and got to ride in the ambulance with his father (next day's paper said he ended up okay, too). Being pissed doesn't win fights.
