I didn't express it very well, but that's what I was saying was a possibility in my second statement.

Reasonable possibility, but doesn't fit the history. NGU has never gone out of his way to get attention or tow the company line. He just states what he knows. Getting in to that thread was out of character for him, but it read more to me that he was just surprised at how much attention it was getting and felt the need to interject. But I'll admit it's possible that this was a big enough story that someone who has built up credibility with this site felt he needed to use his cred to try and squash it. Could go either way. I hope neither of these guys gets butt hurt enough over this to stop posting here. I like JW's opinions on the football board and NGU certainly has the inside info on a lot of topics. No reason for this to change any of that. I think the only way you get equal footing in this case is for both sides to reveal their sources. That's not going to happen, so not much point in all of this.

It's not really that simple though. JW is a reporter that uses anonymous sources, as he just did with his report on Jasper. NGU isn't a reporter, he's a source. TBD is his reporter. It's not the same situation. But again, I don't think NGU is right to call out JW. As an anonymous source, he should stick to that, which he did acknowledge.

In the other thread JW did call out NGU for being an anonymous name on a message board and calling him out behind that name. I don't care to take sides in this as I think they're both in the wrong at this point. But given that JW uses anonymous sources all the time, I don't think that's a fair argument.

I was shocked over seeing his name, so I started looking around more. Looks like they got the name wrong and meant another Jones on the team.

I was one of those who was seriously rooting for Jasper (beyond reason), but he showed NOTHING in pre-season. I'm still surprised that a guy with that much size, strength, and athleticism showed such little pop out off the line and so little ability to push people around or separate from his block. I thought his problem was going to be the playbook and technique, not strength and power issues. He may make the practice squad, but I think there was enough young talent that deserve it more.

Considering Jasper has apparently been cut, might not mean as much as you think.

Looks like last years champs might fall to Utah St...in Auburn. This could be another App St/Michigan. EDIT: Well, Utah St falls apart in the last 2 minutes and lets Auburn get 2 TD's in less than a minute.

I have no idea what Jean-Gilles has done in the NFL, but I remember I really liked him at Georgia and was hoping we would draft him. Obviously not doing too great having been cut by a couple teams. And I can say this about every QB being cut today....I'd rather have McCown over Thigpen.

I was too. Not to the point where I think it's a huge deal, but I think Aiken had that developing look to him. I got a very similar feeling about him that I did watching Stevie his first couple years. Hopefully the results will be similar and Aiken can stay on the PS.

Yeah, I read that too about the ToGo. I pretty much feel the same way about the app. If it was a finished product, it would be available already. There's no reason to hold off so long on this; it only hurts them. I think between those two things, I'm out of this. I already know that I'm going to be on the road for 3 Sundays, and most likely that will turn into 5-6. Without the ToGo option, it's just not worth the price, especially for a product that will likely be Beta this year.

Here's the answer I got from Playstation: I went to the blog and the only official information there is the exact wording in the email. Found a user on their message board (everyone just as confused as we are) and one of them posted this: Between the wording form the Playstation rep saying, "viewers who do not currently have access to DIRECTV..." and the Direct TV rep saying, "non-DIRECTV customers can get NFL SUNDAY TICKET on their PS3 if they can’t get DIRECTV at their current address." Guess we'll have to wait until the 6th to find out, but it sounds like it MIGHT not be what we thought it was. May just be another way to access the ticket for those that can't get Direct TV.

You always do a great job on these so I'll give you a little slack on this mistake. It's very well known that this star studded movie features Dustin Hoffman, Rene Russo, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, and Donald Sutherland. No further info needed. This is obviously the movie of the year.

It was a good comeback and Nassib really turned it up in the 4th and did a good job finding receivers and making those throws on rollouts. But the team and Nassib are going to need to learn to hold the pocket and make the throws from the middle of the field. You can't beat good teams with a passing game that only uses 1/3 of the field.

I just don't get how he could look good in KC a couple of years ago and now look SO bad. I never expected him to look great, but figured he'd be at least serviceable. Chan just said it's possible that a player could lose a job by playing poorly in this game. I really hope Thigpen falls into that category. As he's played this preseason, he's a liability back there.

I think there's about as many posts in this thread as there are people at the game. Thigpen is going to be the scariest backup QB we've had in a long time....and that's really saying something.

Hopefully they're getting this sloppiness out of their systems!
