  1. Sir Didymus!
  2. Pete, no matter the subject, you're the worst proponent I've ever seen.
  3. There's a lot of great information in the book. There's also a good bunch of over the top conspiracy theory. If you're the kind of person who can can separate the two, appreciate the good and ignore the crap, there's really not many better books on the history of banking and the Federal Reserve. Just my opinion, but most people can't, so the book either becomes garbage or another in a long line of anti-government hyperbole.
  4. Details...
  5. I was thinking 13 Monkeys.
  6. Well that was redundant.
  7. Out of curiosity, what is the hype everyone keeps talking about? Almost all of his fans, no matter how aggressive, simply say that they think he will succeed in the NFL. No real mention of breaking records, pro bowls, hall of fame, superbowls, etc... Yes, they feel he will eventually excel and win like he did in Florida, but I haven't seen anyone hype him up more than any other draft pick with potential. And those are his fans. Everyone else AT LEAST says that he has a big learning curve and will have a long journey to success. Most others say he has no chance to be successful. Those groups includes pretty much everyone in the media. There are certainly people that are excited by his potential (and when your a Denver fan looking only at Orton as an alternative, why not?), but I just don't see the "hype".
  8. Not to mention, it's far more surprising that she chose to wear that outfit. She had to be drunk to think she had any reason to wear that.
  9. College stats can be incredibly misleading. The game is just so different. If that wasn't the case, Colt Brennan would be winning Super Bowls right now. Even in a division like the SEC, teams play a bunch of cupcakes every year that pad stats. And even against the best competition, the odd offenses and different defensive games make comparisons impossible. Watching performance can give you the answer to why Luck will succeed in the NFL and Brennan most likely wouldn't (didn't). In a thread filled with non-sense, this takes the cake. Your history on the subject speaks volumes against that statement.
  10. There's a small, but important, disconnect here. These arguments are reading like they are being made about performance, but are specifically saying "stats". Those are two different things. I agree that big picture, stats mean nothing. Performance is different, and if anyone says that college performance has no bearing on NFL potential, they are out of their minds.
  11. I always thought running a play before the whistle was a penalty.
  12. Holding happens a lot, and you'll get different views about how often and if what the Bills are seeing is normal. I haven't been able to see the Cinci game yet, but I heard it was crazy. It was ridiculous today. I noticed 3 obvious holds on one play...no call. I saw a few blocks in the back very close to the plays...no call. There were shirts stretching, arms being pulled, and players being spun around and the refs didn't seem to notice. The refs were really bad.
  13. The article talked about the school pursuing other chargers; ones that make much more sense than child pornography. The kids who took the pics would still learn their lesson, just not by labeling them for life in a way meant for sexual deviants.
  14. I've spent so much time looking forward to draft position it's actually a little difficult to switch gears.
  15. Starts at about the 10:00 mark.
  16. Yep, that's exactly what seems to happen when he gets hit a couple times. He pouts and starts throwing bad passes. Not to say the way we did it has never been done before, but I don't remember ever seeing it. Big kudos to the game plan. Yeah, that's scary. You would figure without blitzes we'd have enough guys in coverage to slow down Welker and Gonkowski more than we did. I'm really not sure that if Hernandez wasn't hurt we would have been able to win this game. Guess we'll have a chance to find out at the end of the year. Hopefully we still have some CB's healthy by then.
  17. Can't argue with the result, but I'm completely surprised by the strategy. Obviously the only way we won that game was due to the turnovers, and I just don't think it makes sense to plan on intercepting Brady that many times without trying to knock him down. Again, can't argue with the end result, just flies in the face of the history of Patriots success. Guess that's why Gailey makes the big bucks.
  18. Don't presume to tell me how I would react to a hypothetical call. And making up statistics and using them as evidence is a wonderful way to make any argument. How about you try putting the shoe on the other foot for a second. That kind of straw man bull **** is exactly what you spend most of your days on this board calling people idiots for. Now it's okay? Hypocrite.
  19. Yeah, that 5 yards is an insurmountable distance to cover for a WR. However could he have managed. This isn't homerism, it's the rule book. Maybe there's no way in hell he ever catches that ball, but he was close enough to make a play on it. The DB wrapped him up while he still had that opportunity. I disagree that's is a rare call, but that's just two different opinions, so whatever... Like I said earlier, it doesn't look like the guy means to do what he did. I don't think Nelson had the time to think about doing it on purpose, but the fact that they were so close and started to get tangles obviously makes the guy do what he did. But how does that matter? The fact is he committed the foul. Rule book doesn't say there has to be forethought.
  20. Again, if you can't see the penalty there you're blind. I'm in agreement that it was a ridiculous pass, but that doesn't change the penalty. What is it about the play that makes you guys think it was a gift? DB's arms wrapped around Nelson. How can that be interpreted any other way?
  21. The second call was clearly illegal contact. Didn't look like he meant to do it, but the DB wrapped his arms around Nelson while the ball was in the air. Any chance of Nelson making a play on the ball, even if it was to just knock it out of the defenses hands, was taken away. Not sure how much more perfect example of penalty you can find.
  22. Not exactly, but if the Bills close their eyes and try real hard, they may be able to use this to get pumped up for the game.
  23. The entire drive was a gift? Is that they guy you want to be? Seriously, why do you get off on this over the top anti Bills spin on almost every topic? There was one questionable penalty in that drive, the first play, and given how protective the refs were throughout the whole game, it fit right in.
