That's just incredible. So all riders are the same person? I don't have sympathy for idiots who put their lives at risk acting stupid on motorcycles, but intentionally putting thier lives (and the lives of others around them/you) at risk is just as idiotic.

Did Google 'Street View' car kill a dog?
Acantha replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
Or the dog tried turning back. If you keep following the car forward, the dog doesn't move as long as you can still make it out. Also, between the first pic of the dog and the one where it's lying in the road, the dog isn't visible at all even with a large viewing range. Based on where the dog is lying, it's likely underneath the car for that pic. Rough... -
8-20: Doug Marrone and GM Doug Whaley on WGR
Acantha replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get that, but I'm not really talking about how he's playing right now. I'm actually in the minority that doesn't expect rookies to be up to NFL speed and perfect. My question is more focused on what to do with the guy that appears to be number 3 on the depth chart (of course this is all assuming Marrone's remarks are true). So going on the assumption that Glenn and Henderson are the starters, should the team continue to groom CK as a tackle and let him be a rotational guy/backup to one or both positions, or should they try to get him in the starting lineup at Guard? -
8-20: Doug Marrone and GM Doug Whaley on WGR
Acantha replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Certainly doesn't always happen; I hope he keeps himself on the right course. Interesting quote by Marrone and stresses the question that has been being asked here lately, what do they do with CK? Marrone talked him up a bit, hard to tell how real it is, but no matter how he is currently playing, if the plan is for Henderson to start at RT, is CK going to just be groomed for a backup, or are they going to push him at another position? BTW, for those that are down on Marrone for his interviews, there is a clear difference between his press conferences and other interviews. I'll say it again, I don't blame him. -
Wanna bet?

I think he was clearly being antagonistic; and I don't blame him. Maybe he can train everyone to not ask the same question 6 times during the week or to put some actual thought into the what they actually expect to get out of these questions. Or at VERY least, prepare themselves beforehand so they aren't stuttering through questions and making very little sense. Have you listened to a BB PC the last couple of years? They're pretty simple and quick because everyone knows he's not going to say anything worth listening to anyway. Personally, I like getting a little more out of the coach, but I would likely do the same thing in his shoes. You're right though, the backlash will be severe. I honestly don't think he cares. The only person he has to be good with (for now) is Whaley.

I think that might have been my favorite scene of the season, and I laughed out loud during the Durant/Cheyenne lines. I know I'm behind but I don't have cable and wait for the seasons on Netflix. I'm happy to hear they picked it up again. I loved season 1 and was very disappointed in season 2 (except for the last two episodes), but though S3 was the best so far. Very curious to see how Bohanon is getting out of the Fort. Anyway...guess I'm out until next year to avoid spoilers.

The number one album in America
Acantha replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
Actually, there are more tools today (apps, message boards, etc...) to find the music you like than ever before. Once upon a time you had to slug your way through crappy album after crappy album, all based on what your local store had in stock. It could be a fun way to spend some time, but I rarely found any great new music. I haven't tried to listen to music on the radio in near 10 years. That's where the problems are and it's easy to avoid it. -
35 Guess it's not surprising that a team that hasn't been to the playoffs in almost 15 years doesn't have as many young fans.

Hot for teacher: Pittsburgh Style
Acantha replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
Two 18 year old students, with a substitute teacher, after their last day of school. Talk about a bull **** charge. -
Hard to say what makes good fantasy for you, but there are 3 series I'm currently reading that I think are excellent (each has two books so far): The KingKiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfus Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson Raven's Shadow by Anthony Ryan

I'll second Sunshine. I was really surprised by that one, thought it was going to be really bad. Pretty creepy and good though.

I tried that, but the shave isn't as good after taking it out. I've tried getting all of the oil off (baby oil and olive), but it still feels like it's gliding over my hair and not cutting as well. I use the fusion as well and go through razors like crazy; probably closer to 20 a year.

I agree and disagree. I've completely given up "irony/ironic" to the evolution of language. Literally so many poeple use it incorrectly, those that do are in the minority and people don't understand what I'm talking about when I say it. So banging my head against the wall about it is pointless. Literally is different though, and I really don't think it has anything to do with people not knowing what it means. It's just a word that has jumped into everyday language for no reason; similar to "like" (..I was like, what?). As for the original topic, I think the school is ridiculous for enforcing this rule over 1/2" with a couple of hours left in the day. I also never understand why this stuff makes the news. And a big yes to the reporter.

Truly bad movies you're embarrassed to admit you like
Acantha replied to Rubes's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Hudson Hawk is one of my favorites. Really, isn't the corny dialogue on purpose? I think I'd be a little dissapointed if it wasn't, but either way I'll still like it. I'm on board with liking Starship Troopers, but it's definitely one of those moveis that they should have just called something else. Naming it as they did was nothing but trying to get Heinlein fans in the seats. Didn't they recently make another one that was supposed to be more true to the book? I remember reading something about it, but never heard anything else. EDIT: Just looked around, seems it's an on again/off again type thing. When Total Recall bombed, they back-burnered it. -

That would only work if he had given away another patron's muffin. -
CV-22s have piles of mattresses ready for the same purpose.

That's how the article describes it. Ducks not in the road, she stops in the road to go get them.
-
Ridiculous speed? Seems he was going pretty much the same speed everyone I see on the road is going, about 10-15 miles over the speed limit. Should it be ignored? No, but not what I would call ridiculous. I can agree with the ridicule of a life sentence if it passes, but just becuase it's on the table doesn't mean she will get it, so I'll reserve judgement.. And frankly, stopping your car in the left lane of a highway is flat out stupid. She deserves some jail time.

Game of Thrones Part Deax: The Readers Thread
Acantha replied to Kevin's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Sounds like he screwed up and will cover for it in a later book. -
I think your "we's" are misplaced. As fans, trashing/bitching/complaining about our opponents is what "we" do. You're right, the players and coaches should focus on their gameplan to beat the pats*, but "we" aren't them. I have no idea what the in thing is...and it is in fact silly (I would have used a harsher word).
