No Pettine, Kiko, or Byrd ... No problem

Until we go into a season where both Oakland and Cleveland do not have a head coach opening, we won't be safe. While I like Pettine, he was hired out of desperation. -

I had to look up 3rd down conversion % because it just feels to me that we haven't been very good in that category. Seems I was wrong. We're currently 6th in the NFL with 36.21%, better than last years 37.14%. Though yesterday we were 47.37%. Can't agree about Byrd. Like most safeties, he benefited from a better defensive front 7, but Byrd was good in run support as well. He had some outstanding open field tackles that made me jump out of my seat! Byrd was an excellent safety while he was here. While I would have loved to keep him, our DL is too good/expensive to pay a safety that much money. -
I was just thinking about that today. Kiko, Brown, and Bradham (especially if he can stop the stupid penalties) are going to be pretty great. If they can keep the DL intact, this defense has some really good years in them.

I thought it had more to do with Rick deciding to take the chance and go to Washington (to save humanity).

I KNEW he didn't kill him! I didn't mention it on here, but I won a bet with my wife that he was still alive. He stopped Carol from going in (obviously to keep her from killing him), but it still seems pretty unlikely though that nobody went inside the cabin while they were all hanging around after the meet-up, but whatever. It seems likely that is what the show wants us to think, but I can't figure out where it's going to go from there. If it's just a big reveal and they all die from eating him, that seems kind of anti-climactic, no? I'm wondering if they are going to introduce some type of new reaction to the virus. Some kind of zombie, human cross? Very far fetched, but that's all that comes to mind. Ya think? The windows and the pristine condition outside the church are what makes it interesting. I think instead of his whole church, it was mainly just the girl that he didn't let in. One person trying to pry the windows up, then used the knife (or whatever) to carve on the church. I think leaving your loved one outside to die, especially when there wasn't any real threat (if she had time to do all that she obviously wasn't running from zombies) is enough to feel guilty about. I think it all relates to the group and their, "protect each other at all costs" mantra. This guy is obviously only out for himself and will likely do something to get someone killed. Maybe even betray them to the cannibals? Not so much a clue as an obvious reveal. Definitely, that was made clear while Rick was talking to him and he asked him if he knew her. The Carol situation is interesting. She's not comfortable around the group anymore, but she's also very protective of them and I think she considers herself part of them. I assume this is just going to be a side, human drama story. I really like the idea of her and Darryl off to kick some ass! Can't wait for whatever twist comes with that.

Glad we cleared that up.

Homework? You made a clear accusation that the same people were saying "there's not such thing as a moral victory" AND this is a moral defeat. I'm just curious if you can back it up. I'm guessing not as references to quotes of "realist" don't really answer the question.
-
Do you have a couple of examples of individual posters saying both things?

Lot's of people have restrictions placed on them due to their jobs. As far as I know, right to travel by air (in a sealed compartment with re-circulated air) is not in the constitution. This isn't a concentration camp we're talking about here. Yes, she's certainly to blame, and I hope she's feeling the heat for her actions, but I don't see any problem at all with minor (yes, this is minor) and temporary restrictions placed on people who have direct contact with the bodily fluids of Ebola patients. If health professionals are not willing to deal with that, they can find jobs that don't require such "sacrafices."

This is probably my biggest "eye roll" moment win the show. Carol may be a bad ass, but quickly leaning a firework against a fence and then expecting it to hit a tank at least a hundred yards away was pretty stupid. But hey, it's a show about zombies, so I can suspend disbelief.
-
Isn't that just a matter of not going to sites looking for spoilers?

That's what the woman was explaining to Carol when they were in the room together, and the flashbacks seem to back it up. There's no mention of the other group being cannibals, so hard to say if it started there or if Gareth's group just started that up on their own after they took Terminus back. Either way, the whole point was to point out that so many people are just giving up trying to be "good" and doing whatever suits them, since being good only leads the "bad" people taking advantage of you.
-
Wow, I definitely did not put that together. I guess the rest of the season is wide open! I wonder how long the show will revolve around getting to D.C.?
-
Yes, this is what I meant. It was a flashback, but those people are out there and I would expect the group to meet up with them. I can't see any other reason for the flashback but to introduce that character for the future. I hadn't thought of Beth being with them Shrader, but I bet you're right.
-
I think it's more likely the group that initially took over Terminus (the one they showed at the end taking the girls out of the train car) will be the next big enemy. That one woman tell Carol, "they left" instead of saying we killed them all or something.

I believe Whaley will trade for a guard

I'd take Incognito in a second. I still don't understand what the deal with Urbik is. He isn't an all pro, but he always played better than Pears. Can't figure that one out. -
More likely Vereen. How many RB's have the Bills knocked out of games so far?
-
Don't get your hopes up? That is literally the only thing Bills fans can do! Of course the Bills can lose on Sunday. We HOPE they will win. How can there be any other way? If your hopes aren't up, you're doing it wrong.

If rather have a million yards and a billion touchdowns. What's the point? Orton isn't going to the pro bowl of this game, no doubt. But he came in for his first start on a fairly new team against a stout defense and threw the ball well enough to post 300 yards and help earn the win. Taking away from one stat and pointing at what could have been in another stat is pointless and as already said, sour grapes.

An empty 300 yards??

Jimbo Fisher says "I told you so..."

Not sure where the title of this thread came from. The article says this info is "according to sources." As far as I've seen, Fisher hasn't publicly said anything. -

I think the Marrone hire and Manuel pick are unknowns. I'm sure Whaley had his say, but I don't think there's anything out there that says he was in charge of those decisions despite Nix still being the GM. -
EJ: "I want to be a different player... cut it loose."

I just googled it...nothing about a pass play came up. -
By far. This ebola thing is long overdue.
