  1. The Star Wars movies have no chance period. I'm sure they'll do fine financially, which of course is all that matters in the end, but they will be ridiculed non-stop from every direction no matter what happens. The fanboys, which is damn near everyone it seems, are just too horrible. Hell, they had a 30 second trailer that set off half of the internet because of a 2 second shot of a new light saber. Star Wars doesn't have the opportunity to be on the same grading scale as anyone else. It could be the greatest movie in the past 50 years and it would still be crap to many.
  2. I liked Kelly, but with the trade and now the rumors that he's going to trade up for Mariota, I'm starting to think he might be kind of off his rocker. He needs to move on from Oregon.
  3. Not really. You can say the Vikings got rid of him for the two low draft picks, or you can say they got rid of him for the two low draft picks and 4.75 mil of cap space a couple of days before FA starts. That's at least a slight bit more than nothing.
  4. Actually, he's worth 4.75 mil.
  5. And he's worth every bit of it! I don't expect much from him, but this is a good deal for the cost.
  6. So very little in the end. Very good deal IMO.
  7. Won't be much left IF they are trying to sign Hughes as well.
  8. That's only the question if you are trying to gauge against last years team. The real question right now is this: is player X better than Tuel or the QB we could have gotten with the picks we gave up? Since we don't know the picks yet the answer to the first part is of course yes. While Cassel isn't great, he's likely better than anyone in the draft after the top 2.
  9. The same type of argument can be made for Kiko. The Bills wouldn't have traded him if they thought he was that good. In his one season, he played behind one of the best DL in football, which made him look great. I think their both good players.
  10. The reaction to CJ is crazy. In the past couple of weeks I've seen quotes from him ranging from "I want to be a Bill" to "Money will be a factor" to "It would be pretty great to work with Gailey". Last night he was quoted along the lines of, "I would have like to have the option to come back to Buffalo." The option? Like if it didn't work out better anywhere else? I like Spiller, but he wasn't treated badly. There was a source last night that said this deal went down in like 20 minutes (probably an exaggeration, but the point being it was fast). I'm sure they let Spiller know as soon as possible after making the deal instead of letting him find out about it on the street. Not their fault it just happened to be right before he went on TV. Tough break, but the "Chip's got my agents number" comment was great for CJ.
  11. I watched all of Spartacus and let me tell you, you're spot on!
  12. I said the same thing on the first day, but it was proved wrong. Someone copy and pasted it somewhere else and it was an "I". Also, it seems Leroi HAS cleared up lmo gate in his most recent comment in the other McCown thread where his sig now reads "IMO". http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/176133-josh-mccown-anybody-update-is-a-brownend-of-story/page-56?do=findComment&comment=3473229
  13. Exactly. Rex knows EJ. He was in the division! He game-planned for him. They drafted Geno the same year, which means he evaluated EJ during that draft process. Rex knows what he's got in EJ. There is certainly hope that EJ can do more in his career and I definitely understand the opinions of everyone who thinks this is the wrong move, but thinking the coaches do not having enough info on EJ to form their own opinion is pretty ridiculous.
  14. So far, I'm on the side of thinking this doesn't make sense (I may be swayed by what happens in FA and the draft), but to your point, a QB competition requires splitting reps fairly evenly in camp (each QB getting around the same snaps AND with the same personnel groupings). As I said earlier, IF Rex/Roman feel that EJ would be going in to camp as number 3 and they don't want to waste time with the three QB's in a competition while also trying to implement a whole new offensive scheme, I can certainly see why a competition is not an option. Also, as someone else pointed out, if they plan on drafting a project, that guy will need all the reps he can get in camp, and EJ is taking that away from him. EJ would almost certainly beat out a project draftee for the #3, but if that's the guy you want to move forward with then it doesn't matter, EJ has to go. Obviously I'm delving into wild speculation at this point, but I just can't agree with everyone saying there is no situation where this makes sense.
  15. I wish we knew how much of the EJ pick was on Whaley. I know he came out and said it was a team decision, yada, yada, yada, but that's all just media speech. Either he was a big part of the pick or not. From the outside looking in, that pick wreaks of reeks of Nix, but I'll admit that may just be my hope. Either way, I won't crucify a guy for one bad pick, but it just looks especially bad when the opinion of EJ was overwhelmingly low from all outlets. More to the point of you're question, it may be out of his hands. Rex reports to the Pegulas, not Whaley. If he wants EJ gone and a clean slate, Whaley might not have much say in the matter.
  16. If this goes down, the only thing that buffers it a LITTLE is the trade down/Kiko pick. But yeah, it would still be pretty horrible.
  17. Not that I agree with it, but one reason I can think of is training camp reps. If they are going to bring someone in and the expectation by Rex/Roman is that McCown and the new guy will go into training camp #1 and #2, it might not be worth it to keep EJ around as a distraction (with the media if nothing else) when he'll only be taking #3 reps, which likely won't give him much opportunity to prove himself. Or maybe they want to give him a chance to catch on elsewhere as a backup; it's not unheard of for teams to let guys go early for their benefit.
  18. There is a link in the OP, it's to the post made by Leroi. Leroi has gotten the scoop on the national media twice that I know of, so a link to what he said is as worthy to a tweet by some national reporter. This isn't to say it's not true, but calling for the thread to be closed is wrong IMO. EDIT: Scooped them 3x actually...he called the Marrone to Jax as OLine coach pretty early on.
  19. Just for the record: Lower case L = l It's not IMO, it's LMO (all lowercase).
  20. And everyone else suffers. From the Terms of Service: Rules and Guidelines: The do's and don'ts of the TBD message boards... Do NOT post: Personal "crusades" (posting the same information/opinion in an excessively repetitive manner. We want posters to share opinions not bludgeon others to death with them.) Meanwhile, nothing about duplicate threads.
  21. I would. Your obsession with this is insane.
  22. I would bet on two picks. Later one this year and maybe a 2nd or third next.
  23. That looks like a pretty awesome addition to my OTA, Netflix and Amazon Prime, though I would probably only get it during football season. I'll definitely be looking into it around August. EDIT: Actually, I may check it out sooner. I've been looking into getting a Roku 3 for a while and they have a deal going on them. Subscribe to their service for 3 months and get a Roku 3 half off. That puts the total to about $110, while the Roku by itself is about $95.
  24. HBO is going to be a big loss for cable and will get the ball rolling on bigger changes, but ESPN will be the biggest game changer. They already stream most of their stuff anyway (for cable subscribers), so it likely wouldn't be a big jump for them, but I haven't heard any talk of it.
