Source: EJ Manuel to start Sunday for Tyrod Taylor
Acantha replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Have to admit, as much as I was hoping TT was healthy enough to start, I'm actually kind of looking forward to see what EJ will do. -
Holy crap I'm going to London for the game!
Acantha replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Outside of fish n chips, which I don't like, London really doesn't have anything to offer (that you can't get here). As far as Europe goes, it's the only place I've been where there wasn't an excess of things I wanted to try. -
Either that or someone in the town is blowing the horn because the wolves are coming and they have no other choice (all the guns and tough guys are on the road and Alexandria is easy pickings). No way the wolves set up the quarry as a trap. It would have taken forever for that many walkers to find their way there, and there was no telling when the blockade was going to fail. The wolves are obviously going to be the big enemy this season. They have to build up to that and I just don't think they're ready to bring that on so soon in the season.

Tyrod's Tell with His Mouthpiece - Anyone Else Notice This?
Acantha replied to goynahan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A long time ago someone posted about a WR leaving the huddle a little bit early on running plays (may have been Eric Moulds). Emailed the team about it and got a response back saying something along the lines of "We'll check it out". If it's really happening, you should let them know. -
That's an argument better saved for the off-season. Players rising and falling during the season, while they are actually performing and giving everyone a chance to evaluate them, is exactly what's supposed to happen.

Should have said "astrix".

Zebra Report Week 4 - NJG vs. Bills
Acantha replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First, thanks for the write-up. I've gone back and looked at the penalties too, and while I don't agree with all of your opinions, it's great to see them all written out. Frankly, I think this is nonsense. It's possible for a team to have a bad game and still win. The refs absolutely impacted the result of this game. Sure, a team can come out and play absolutely perfect football in an attempt to overcome the refs bull ****, but what team plays perfectly every week? The Bills should have had a chance to overcome their stupid penalties and flat out bad play/scheme through the first 3/4 of the game, but the refs wouldn't let them. I've heard in the past that every team is reviewed each week. Never heard what happens when they discover a horribly called game. I know those refs wouldn't be chosen to officiate the Super Bowl or the like, but outside of that it doesn't appear (from the outside looking in) that a whole lot happens. -
I make them at home all the time. They're insanely better. Crisp english muffin, extra sharp cheddar, and thick cut Canadian bacon! Yep, it's been a while since I worked there, but it was regular eggs at the time. Tube thing sounds fake.

Losing 2 of your first 3 home games...
Acantha replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMO, there's was no reason for the fans to not believe in this team. The talent is top notch and the coaches should be competent enough to win the games they are supposed to win. Losing those games is a killer though. We were supposed to take care of those so we could have a little buffer for a tough road stretch. Doesn't look good. -
Yeah, Incognito is stupid. He just needs to make sure his block are the really mostest legal that he can make them!
-
Yep. And in both cases, it was in the worst way in my opinion. Our offense came into this game with a plan to run, apparently no matter what, against the best rush d in the league. In the NE game, Rex went into the game with a plan to NOT blitz the best QB in the league. Just craziness.
-
That has NOTHING to do with the rule!
-
So no more double teams? Kind of a dramatic change to the game, don't you think?
-
Replay showed the play from the other direction. Much better angle.
-
I'll ask you the same question I asked someone else and didn't get an answer. What is the highest point a player can hit and be considered "low" in your definition?
-
That wasn't a planned block that was in the game plan, it was a double team after the initial block.
-
From the game thread so I don't have to re-type it:
-
I was thinking this is the worst game plan I've seen since Mike Mularkey.
-
He changed the game plan after the game was out of hand. He was still calling a one yard out into the 4th quarter! The redzone calls were insane. Regardless of the adjustments, coming into a game vs one of the strongest run defenses and weakest pass defenses and running the ball on 1st and 2nd down is amateur hour. The short passing was consistent through the game and never worked. It wasn't until the game situation absolutely took away those option that the team finally started consistently throwing intermediate routes that were previously successful and then abandoned. I agree with everything regarding Hughes. IMO, he needs to be suspended for his crap. I would say benched, but that doesn't hit him in the wallet. Not sure if you can suspend a player for being a douche bag and hurting your team on the field week after week, but I doubt it, and it's too bad. As for the chop, I think it's crazy to ask a player not to make a legal block during a game because it may be called incorrectly. How can a player make that kind of adjustment in the heat of a play? I said it earlier and I'll say it again, when you have an athletic QB that runs like TT does, there is no time that you shouldn't be looking around for a block. Yes, it was it ended up being unnecessary, but Incognito doesn't know that at the time. For all he knows, the play is breaking down behind him and TT is getting ready to run. He isn't engaged so he finds the nearest guy and engages, LEGALLY. It was good play and is what everyone on that OL should be doing.
-
Every time.
-
Oh, so lunging is wrong now? You guys are a trip. A clearly legal block called a penalty and Incognito is at fault. Wow. I don't care if he was doing the limbo...the block was HIGH.
-
He didn't dive. Are we watching the same play? Answer the question, where does a player have to hit to be considered "low"? Below the knees? Waist? Neck?
-
When you're an offensive lineman for a QB who can escape and run like Tyrod does, you never stop blocking and looking for blocks.
-
The replay clearly showed a hit above the hip. What do you consider "low" exactly?
-
I would say the offense was way more than slow to start. I'm honestly floored by how bad the scheme and play calling was. There have been a lot of differing views about Roman, but this was horrendous. If that game plan was on him, he doesn't deserve a job.
