And as I said, I know nothing compared to the guys making the picks. And if we blew our drafts based on reaching for Whitner, then they would have done the same reaching for Justice.

I finally got to listen to the interviews, and I don't think it's as simple as this. I'm betting on 3rd downs we see McCargo and Tripplett in there together, and they will be splitting time the rest of the way. It seems they still need another DT (Watson anyone?), but I don't think McCargo is going to be a "backup" by any means. I can see him in for at least half the plays.

This has probably been brought up today at some point, but it's hard to keep up... Let me start this by saying that in my opinion, the Bills reached twice today, and I was very dissapointed that we didn't trade down. But I, like many around here, fully admit that I know next to nothing when compared to the guys making decisons for this team. But for now my comments are for the pro's that are bashing us for our moves. Lets look at Winston Justice as an example. If those "pros" had been drafting, Winston Justice would have been picked anywhere from 8 to around 20 (depending on who you are talking about). NFLDraftcoundown had him going to us at 8, Kiper had him going 19 to SD. Now, after the first day of the draft, we have PROVEN that these "pros" who are getting on the Bills for reaching, would have reached for Winston Justice. Again, it's now proven they would have reached if they were making the decision for those teams. What isn't proven is where Whitner and McCargo would have been drafted if Buffalo didn't get them. Maybe they reached, maybe not. But right now we all know that Kiper and Scott Wright would have blown their drafts by reaching for talent. Now, the argument about what positions we took is a whole other thing.

No way they traded up into the first round to draft a guy they plan to use as a backup.

With a 4th? Any of em. Jean Gilles, Watson, and Simpson top the list. And if you notice, there are 9 players on that list. One of them will be there, and they are all good value.

4.45. Not a burner, but not an "issue" either. As stupid as it sounds, I seriously wouldn't be upset at the pick if it were made. Our DB's would be young, but you would be looking at a Lineup of: S: Whitner, Simpson CB: Nate, McGee, Vincent, Youboty That looks very good to me. And hell, we've ignored OL all the way to this point, I think at that point in the 4th round you go for the player that could reasonably start instead of an Olineman that will probably end up no more than depth.

Unless they draft a FB (which I hope they do), I don't think you can expect a starter from here on out. Hopefully we land some good prospects.

Me too. I was thinking Watson was going to be gone before our 2nd round pick. I would be happy with that move. And as much as this board would go nuts, I'd take one of the safeties like Simpson who have dropped. Move Vincent back to Nickel CB, and our DB's are looking damn good. That said, if Jean Gilles or Spencer are there, you can't pass up that NEED.

I'd say a big no right now. It may not end up being Oline like I want, but right now there is still going to be talent on the board when we pick. May be another S or DT, but hey, at this point what the hell.

Jean-Gilles fell as the off-season wore on. I think late second is about what is expected. The way things are going he may drop to the 3rd. It's long shot, but if JG or Spencer are there, I really hope we grab em.
