  1. You don't. She already knows. Telling her you think she needs to lose weight? Doesn't matter how you do it, it'll be bad no matter what.
  2. Is that two, or three?
  3. Don't think that's what I was doing.
  4. This got me thinking, so I looked up the top 10 rushing defenses and how big their two starting DT's are in comparison to ours. It surprised me to find that 3 of the top 5, and 5 of the top 10, rushing defenses play a 3-4. Leaving those teams out (cause it's like comparing apples to oranges), this is what your left with: 1. Minnesota: Pat Williams - 6-3, 317 and Kevin Williams - 6-5, 304 3. Jacksonville: Stroud - 6-6, 306 and Henderson - 6-7, 325 6. Chicago: Harris - 6-3, 300 and Tank - 6-3, 300 7. Miami: Traylor - 6-2, 337 and Holiday - 6-5, 288 10. Atlanta: Jackson - 6-4, 345 and Coleman - 6-3, 285 Only Chicago, who uses the cover 2, doesn't have a big DT along their line. I think generally speaking having a big DT is a huge advantage to run defense. Chicago has shown that you can do it with small DT's, but it doesn't happen over night. Chicago is loaded at LB, and their DT's have been playing in that system for a few years now. I don't really think we have to have a big guy on the line, but it has to be a guy who knows how to play against the run. He has to know how to collapse running lanes and shed blockers when he needs to.
  5. Looking at the Bills Free Agents, this is what I would do: Sign: (Show them the money!) Nate Clements UFA London Fletcher UFA Rian Lindell UFA (done?) These have been talked about enough. Sign: (Must take contracts equal to position -- backups) Mike Gandy UFA Jabari Greer RFA Chris Kelsay UFA Anthony Hargrove RFA Anthony Thomas UFA Andre Davis UFA (special teams) Duke Preston ERFA Kiwaukee Thomas UFA (Dime CB) I think Kelsay will be tough to sign for a minimal contract since right now Denney and him split so much time. He can probably get more money elsewhere. Gandy needs to be replaced and take a role as a backup. Let em go: Tim Anderson RFA Daimon Shelton UFA Shaud Williams UFA Coy Wire UFA Shelton is old and hasn't been worth it lately. The board limits will be tested if Coy is re-signed!
  6. I agree. Especially with Royal still on the roster for blocking situations.
  7. The site will be constantly upgraded when the off-season starts. Generally it is the best draft site on the net, with great player write-ups and lots of information. The mocks are just like any other...hit and miss, but fun to look at if your into that stuff. As I said earlier, the Buffalo pick will probably change once his new draft comes out.
  8. This is the other guy I like. He should really be a top DT for a long time in this league.
  9. Pitcock IS run stuffer. He also had a better year going after the QB this year.
  10. The guy that runs that site has been down on Losman since he was drafted. I think the last update came out before the announcement that Losman would be the starter next year, so maybe next time it will be changed.
  11. Well, from what I've been reading the agility isn't really there. I guess I'm just hoping that after this season Jauron/Levy realize that a guy who can stop the run is still important in this league. We have 3 DT's on the roster who are supposedly good at getting after the QB, why not have at least one who can play in the run game? I worry that maybe you are right though. Here are two write ups on Pitcock for those that don't know him: Football's future NFL Draft Countdown
  12. I actually just posted in another thread that the write ups on Quinn Pitcock seem like something we would be looking for. He's still a smaller DT at 295, but he has played better against the run than the pass. Apparently he had shoulder surgery last year, so it may be an issue...though it didn't slow him much this season.
  13. I haven't given up on McCargo. When we picked him the first thing I thought was that he was going to need time. I've given up on Anderson. We need a run stuffing DT to be able to line up next to these guys. I haven't seen him too much, but the write up on Quinn Pitcock look promising. As for Kiwi, he is playing DE and as far as I've seen has been doing okay given the team he's on and that he's a rookie who was expected to have problems transitioning. But I don't see much of the Giants, so maybe I'm mistaken.
  14. I was just kidding. I agree with the decision not to kick, but like most others my big problem comes with the 3rd and 4th down plays that were called, and the confusion on the sideline and field on 4th down. At very best, it showed very little discipline/coordination between himself and his assistant coaches and players. At worst, it was a complete cluster. That said, I really like having Jauron as the coach. I think he blew that drive, but I also think he is a very solid coach who will LEARN from his mistake, unlike our last coach who seemed to take great satisfaction doing the same stupid things over and over again.
  15. I'm hoping for a first round DT and a 2nd round G. The other guard position can be filled in FA, and I agree...it shouldn't break the bank. Just someone better than Gandy/Duke, who can be backups. I don't agree that G is easily filled late in the draft. If that were true everyone would have great guards on their team, including the Bills. If you want results, you have be willing to invest in the position or hope to be lottery lucky...like we were with Peters. But that just doesn't happen very often.
  16. Perhaps the most important aspect of this thread...Jauron didn't get to read it while making his decision.
  17. I used to love dodge ball!
  18. I think a guard and a DT are the two biggest priorities this off-season. Another guard and CB (Nate or another) very close behind that. IMO, considering how bad certain positions on this team are, WR is low on the list.
  19. Those wasted picks are still learning to play in the NFL, and most of them are starting! For the first times in their lives they are playing a 16 game schedule in the NFL...you can't expect them to play at a pro-bowl level, especially when there are so many of them as each others supporting cast. Whitner is not playing next to a long time savvy vet...he's playing next Ko, and vice versa. IMO, those picks are a reason to be excited about next year. The play of the Oline...especially the edges, is a reason to be excited. JP LOSMAN! For once in how many years do we have a young talented QB ready to take control of the field next year? Lee Evans is playing great ball right now, and the other WRs on the field have improved since the beginning of the year. Yes, there are serious holes. DT and LB must be upgraded...but with another off-season like last year I expect that to happen. I certainly understand everyones feelings about yesterday. I felt sick for hours after that game. Same as every other year. But this is the first time in as long as I can remember that I feel good about where the team is going, and don't dread the thought of too many holes to fill in one off-season. Filling the holes on this team is do-able.
  20. That's cool. In the meantime have fun searching through pages of posts for any sign of a good outlook and trying to bash it as though it matters! Maybe that'll fill the void.
  21. And I think what you have can be treated with medication.
  22. When it's all said and done it doesn't matter how we lost this game, a loss is a loss and it sucks! But this team (especially the offense) is still way ahead of where I thought they would be at the end of this year. Yes, the holes are there. DT is a huge need as we all knew it would be, especially after McCargo went out (I know, he wasn't that great, but he would have kept developing). With some luck re-signing our FA's and another good draft, this team will compete for a playoff spot next year. Less than a year after the TD/MM era left this team in shambles, that's saying a lot.
  23. Well, he did say he didn't know what to say.
  24. Might as well close the thread. That sums it all up.
