  1. AP was hurt every year.
  2. I say go for it now...it's good timing and getting it done before the draft will be a bonus. Outside of trading Spikes or trading for Briggs, I can't think of any other moves that would cause any hysteria around here, and if if that did happen, I think everyone could deal without the bitching vs ballwashing that would result anyway. The draft on the other hand will be days of bitching vs ballwashing that I plan to fully take part in.
  3. Like Hollywood said, Nelson's stock dropped a bit at the combine due to poor 40 times, but he kicked butt at his pro day (had the second highest 40 times of DB's at the combine....and did it on grass) and will make that jump back up. He won't slip past 20 and my guess is he'll go top 15. Siler would be a good addition if we don't go for Willis in the first. Though I would much prefer to see him picked up with an extra 2nd later in the round if we ended up trading down. Thomas...well, I doubt Marv goes for him. While the only knock on him is that he got caught smoking pot twice, getting booted from your team in your senior year is a pretty big deal. It was a really stupid move. If he had played the whole season he would have been a first round pick easy! I guarantee he would have been put in the same category as Okoye and Branch. Since I think his punishment most likely knocked him straight, I would love to see him brought in, but I don't see it happening. I'll bet he has an impact on whatever team takes him though.
  4. For starters, you can check my post history and see that I fully support Marv and DJ and think that this team is finally in good hands and on the right track. I don't agree with your argument about Fletcher, Clements, and McGahee, but I also think that letting them go was the right thing to do. Clements got way more than he deserved, Fletcher, while I loved him, didn't fit the system, and I wanted McGahee gone no matter what the price. My response to LSI was said mostly tongue in cheek, but I really am sick of hearing that we are just two years away. We need to start competing now! I really hope Marv and company keep playing in FA and can bring in a player or two to fill our gaping holes.
  5. For me, pretty much anything with tequila. Jose and I DO NOT get along.
  6. We've been two years away for 10 years.
  7. IMO the only reason that trading down should not be the priority is if they are set on taking DT and Okoye or Branch are there at the pick. DT takes a big plunge in talent after those two, so if they feel the must take a DT, that is the spot to take it. After that, I think there is better value (not better players, just much better value) at almost every other position of need by trading down. The way I see it, the Bills have 3 HUGE needs right now: CB, LB, and RB. The need for another LB, DT, and OG are there, just not huge holes like the other 3. If the Bills trade down, they could reasonably fill those 3 holes in the first 2 rounds with very solid players. Not to mention they could probably package their two 3rd rounders and get another 2nd if they wanted. If they can make it happen, I really hope they are able to go that route.
  8. I have Heitz's cooler. It was payment for what he thought was a free ticket!
  9. i don't think your right and you may not like that but i think that i am right and you are not so you can just go and say whatever you want.
  10. Yes, I'd much rather have....nobody.
  11. This thread needs more Coli.
  12. Honestly, I can't see giving up anything for Droughns other than a midrange contract. Granted, Cleveland seems to be the place promising RB's go to die, but based on his play he just hasn't earned enough to give up picks for.
  13. If we could bring in both those guys I would pretty damn happy! I just don't see how it's feasible to get both, and unless they really don't get any interest and have to settle for less, it will be hard to sign either on. I hope you're right though.
  14. Not that I'm expecting it since we have shown no interest, but I'm hoping for Cato June.
  15. Personally, I wanted McGahee gone for whatever anyone was willing to give. I just don't like the guy and didn't like him being a Bill (and openly admit it might not have been the best move for the team talent-wise). And now that the numbers are all in place, I can't believe how well Marv did in this trade. I understand that the potential McGahee offers can be quite thrilling to think about if he ever started to live up to it, but how can you justify giving up 3 draft picks and paying top 5 salary for a RB that not only doesn't average 4 yards a carry, but didn't even reach the 1000 yards last season? This may be a great trade for the Ravens if McGahee lives up to his potential, but wow....I would be pissed if Marv made a move like this.
  16. You're talking about the growing pains associated with every rookie position. You note that "in the cover 2 the CB generally releases the WR 10-15 yards downfield", which leads to another point about the cover 2...safety is a very important position, and both safety positions are required to deal with covering WR's down field and help in run support. Marv started two rookie safeties last year. Why wouldn't he start a rookie MLB?
  17. Seriously, you're so far out in wonderland I don't even know how you are able to get an internet connection.
  18. Actually, I just heard on ESPNN that when Detroit told Bly about the trade, he was told that Denver wanted to sign him long term, and apparently that was a lie. The Skins on the other hand want to do that.
  19. Surprising considering he's had so much practice (142 last year). 5th most by LB's. 2nd most by OLB...Keith Bullock had 143.
  20. I've been looking around trying to find out if Cato June has visited anywhere / has any visits scheduled / expected money, etc... I haven't seen anything on him, anyone come across anything? It's surprising to me that he hasn't already been signed or at least been pursued. He's only 27 and has some good years. I think right now if I had to pick one guy to bring in, this would be the one. Especially if Spikes is leaving.
  21. That sight is insane, but based on who's there, I'll take this (even though according to them I'm reaching): #12: Hall/Revis/Houston CB #43: Kenny Irons RB #61: Buster Davis ILB #74: Earl Everett OLB #107: Josh Beekam OG #169: Jason Snelling FB #203: Bo Smith CB
  22. What kind of worries me is that I think if Brown canceled his other visits, he really likes the numbers he's hearing so far from Buffalo. I'm pretty consistently surprised by the numbers on Marv's signings...Price, Reed, Kelsay, the Oline this year. Wouldn't surprise me much if Brown gets starter money, no matter what his role actually turns out to be.
  23. I tell ya, that Detroit/Denver trade just makes no sense anymore. Everybody gave them big props for filling needs with that trade, and since Bly and Bell have both been back on the trading block. And I don't know who Denver wants with that pick, but I'm thinking if they are willing to give up that much to get there than they probably have no interest in the 12th pick.
  24. So not only do the Bills use too many early picks on DB's, they use too many on other positions too? We should just trade away our first three picks every year.
