To Astro: You referenced DraftTek as much last year too. Did you check their accuracy after last years draft?

Why did we stop talking about 17 year old cheerleaders?

Well done. In an effort be a smart ass you completely miss judge what he actually says. He never said our draft picks aren't going to be very good. He said that any draft pick can't be expected to be as good in their first year as Clements, Fletcher, and Spikes (who should have stepped up his game again after another year to heal). How is that wrong? He's also right in his judgment of Turner. That's the OBVIOUS question that everyone has to ask before making a trade. Is the player going to be worth what your giving up, whether it be draft picks or players. Is Turner going to be a good starting RB in this league? Is he worth trading two draft picks? It's not a stupid question, it's the only question. But I forgot, we are on TBD where the "in your face" response if far more important than objectively understanding a point. -
Overall, I'd say the show is getting better with some personalities coming out in the songs and people finally stepping up a bit. LaKisha: Has there ever been a contestant on this show with such a great voice and so little personality?? Do you even know where you are LaKisha? Your have one of the best voices on the show...have some fun dammit!!! She reminds me of Eeyore. Chris: Oh you big tub goo....what the hell happened to you? You know, at the beginning of the show I thought he had one of the better vocals, but the past couple weeks he sounds like crap. I like the guy, but he's down on Sanjaya's level lately. Okay...not quite that low, but getting there. And dude...start working out. Being out of breath in the middle of your songs aint helping you none. Gina: DAMN girl...you blew it out of the water! I've always liked Gina, she's the kind of girl that's great to hang out with and throw back a few beers, but her performances define average. She rocked this one though! Great job. Sanjaya: Is there anything else you can do to make me think less of you? Oh...how about you dress up like a rooster and gyrate around on stage for a few minutes? You know...I can't help it, I like the kid. Yeah, I said it! You have absolutely no shot at winning this competition, or getting through life without considerable humiliation, but your alright in my book. Stick around a few weeks. Haley: I love you. And no, I don't care that you can't really sing. Really, I wouldn't even know if I didn't hear about it from other people. I don't think I've ever listened to one of your songs. That said, I have actually had thoughts of picking up the phone just to keep you around for another week. Phil: :shudder: Dude, watching you stare at me and tell me that you'll be watching every move I make was one of the more horrifying experiences in recent memory for me. But in all fairness, you finally found a song you can sing. Well done. Melinda: I really can't stand anything about you. I can't stand that you have a great voice despite not having a neck. I can't stand your personality. And like everyone else I want to reach through the TV and smack the hell out of you every time I see that "oh, I'm so shocked people are saying nice things about me" look on you face!!! You are probably the most talented person in this competition and I hope to see you gone every week. But hey, that's just me. Blake: I've been holding off on saying this for the past few weeks, but Blake is bright spot in the show this year. Not the best voice, but I really dig the way he turns average songs into something...I don't know....cool? I could live without the beat boxing, but I understand it's your "thing", so whatever. Keep it up man! Jordin: I never know what to think about Jordin. One week I think she's great, the next I'm bored almost to tears. This week was somewhere in the middle. I honestly think if she would sing and perform to her potential she could steal the show. She just needs to belt it out! Chris: "Chris Richardson". Dude, even your name is boring. Hasn't this guy been voted off like 6 time already? I thought the show was over when they announced he was next! Damn you're boring!!!! I haven't had the chance to watch it, (hasn't come on here yet) but I read above that Chris Sligh (the fat guy) was vote off. Can't say I'm really surprised. Going into it, he was one of my favorites, but I know that had more to do with his attitude than anything. He's been expendable for a couple weeks, and while he wasn't the worst this week he certainly didn't earn the right to stay.

Can we vote you off?

Factoring in the free agent additions we've already had, yes, I'd be fine with it.

I'm going with Timmons.

I think it's fair to say that neither team "got one over" on the other. They both had players that are (at the moment) slight above average at what they do, and should both do better given the systems that they are going into. I agree with you that Spikes injuries will not be a major factor in his game like they were last year. He'll be slower than his prime, but he'll still be a great LB. And the fact that he is joining a team that uses a defense that plays to his strengths, will only make things better for you. For a similar reason I think you are somewhat wrong about Walker. He may have been very average in Philly, but he is now going to a system that was made for his type of talent. A system that wants smaller, strong, fast DT's who can get into the backfield and make plays. I don't think you should discount how the system will help him. That said, Spikes may never gain his former composure and Walker may end up being a situational player at best. Both have the possibility of boom or bust, which is why the trade made a lot of sense.

My guess is the EZC will have the best shots at Willis with those snowballs. He'll be running through those endzones a few times.

Could this trade signal a possible deal

Wouldn't that be a good thing for us? -

I don't think it would happen, but I would jump at that deal. Walker, Briggs and still 3 day one picks? That would be a great thing. -
Its Darwin Walker for Spikes and Kelly

I think the curve ball ends up being Timmons. -

You're welcome. I would thank you for the inane response, but I don't really care. -

My bet is we see 2 LB's on day one, and neither will be Willis. -
I don't know....I thought We Are Marshall was pretty bad.

Marshawn Lynch...doesn't have good hands?
Acantha replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmm, I hadn't realized Hunt had those receiving stats. I only saw a couple games, but I didn't notice him in the passing attack. Good to know. -
2006 Draft a year removed...

So what exactly is it you suggest? Bring in as many high prices FA's as we can and pray that it's enough to make us win this year, while screwing ourselves down the line? Even if that was your plan, it doesn't work. It never works. How do you suggest the team "wins now"? If you're willing to sacrifice the future, what moves would you make to guarantee a Super Bowl? What facts have you used? "Marv bad"? Excellent analysis.

Greg Olsen TE, Miami - NJ kid is a beast.........
Acantha replied to Tom's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's not really average for a college TE, he's average for a college TE's that make it to the NFL every year. Guys like Scott Chandler from Iowa. This guy is middle round talent, but in his 3 years starting (same as Olsen) had more catches, more yards, and more TD's. You can't coach speed, which is why I think Olsen is second round talent. It gives him a huge leg up over other TE's. But he has done nothing extraordinary in Miami to be put into the same category as their other top TE's. -

Acantha replied to Tom's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tore what up? He had 6 TD's his whole time in Miami. Zach Miller had a better career than Olson and is considered low second round talent at best. Olsen is fast, but other than that he's absolutely average. Just like any other player in the draft, he could be boom or bust. But drafting him so high based on combine results is nuts imo. -
Yes, you do keep saying that, and while I agree that if a deal is made for Turner it will not be a for a 1st and a 3rd, but AJ could have put many different tenders on him, including one that would have been closer to the actual asking price he was willing to take. (if it's not really a 1 and 3) Why put a 1st and 3rd tender on him if he was willing to take a second anyway? He would have had much more interest that way. More than likely I could be wrong, but I think it's going to take more than a 2nd to get him.

While I also think he is second round talent, with his combine numbers I can't see him falling out of round 1. Very hard to judge Miami players this year since the whole team just crapped out.
