But they lose during the season! If it doesn't matter what your schedule is, then why play the season? They can just set up the bowl games and play those based on who has played well in past years. The simple fact is, even with tougher SOS, other teams can't get ahead of USC, and that totally ruins the bastardized system they have tried to set up. Where did I ever bring up this years FL schedule? I was talking about two years ago. Yes, this years schedule for FL is "weak" in comaparison, but still tougher than USC's. And your point on the Jax game is just lame. Ben Hill Griffey Stadium is the toughest place to play in the country. Yes, FL doesn't have to go to Georgia every other year, but Georgia also doesn't have to go to Gainesville either.

I haven't been celebrating Oregon St. as a great team. They played a great game, but I blame that loss on USC far more than I give Oregon St. credit for winning it. (See my thoughts in the other forum) No way USC should have lost that game.
-
Bull. Chances are one of these teams (Big 12/SEC) that lose a game will also have a big win on the schedule. Two years ago, when FL one the championship, they wouldn't have made the game if USC hadn't lost it's second game at the very end of the season, despite having the a harder schedule. There is no doubt in my mind that the system leans toward USC.

Oklahoma and Mizz both can both beat anyone in the SEC. Certainly wouldn't blow them out or anything, but they would be good games. I don't quite put Texas on the same level, but they are good enough that it certainly wouldn't be an upset if they beat any of those teams. It's a two conference battle this year, unless Penn St. can prove to be as good as they are pretending to be so far (sorry guys, but you can't get excited over big wins when they come against such horrible competition. No, not bad....HORRIBLE). While Ill. isn't a top team, this will at least be a good test for them. If they can look close to the same team this week, you have to add them to the race. And then you have the BCS. All of these Big 12 and SEC schools will be playing each other. Chances are not good that we will see two undefeated teams by the end of the season. And while USC has a much weaker schedule than any team in the other two divisions, they will almost always be the top 1 loss team. Just how the system works.

Crazy performance by that kid. I can't remember the last time a saw a guy weave in and out of holes like that! Awesome game.

Ha. You forget about the BCS. If they can find a way to get USC back up to 1, they will.

See what I'm saying? Get in a team in there that isn't scared of them, and they make a game out of it. I would never call USC overrated (as a team in general, the actual rankings are another thing); the talent on that team is just sick and Carroll is good coach. They just get used to teams letting them win.

Well Peter King picks the Rams...

Oops...I have to take that back. For some reason I was screwing up Peter King and Dr. Z. Wasn't until I saw the picture at the top of the page that I realized who I was talking about. -

I generally like Peter King. He pretty much goes with his gut when making predictions on anything, and he is in the front of the line to admit when he's wrong. He's not normally the type to pick the upsets just to make himself look good. -
It's amazing how that works.

But it was still the dolphins. No way anyone (fans, players, coaches) thought they would drop that game. Hell, most of miami probably thought they would lose too.

If I want to what? Don't presume to know what I"m censoring. Jim Rome is a loud mouth hack, no matter he says about the Bills. WTF does anyone care what he has to say?
-
I always hate playing undefeated team, cause they are always going to get a win somewhere (well, mostly). How do you think Baltimore felt going in to their game with the dolphins last year? Not only that, but it's always more dangerous going into a game with a new QB playing his first game with the team. Green is much to worry about normally, but it just makes it more difficult to game plan. It's not like St. Louis doesn't have talent. They've got good skill players that could pull one out on an unprepared team (their lines are crap, which is why we should be fine). After last week, I will no longer worry about a "trap game", even though everyone is going to call every game this year a trap game. I worry more about playing a team with decent talent fighting for it's life with a new QB to plan for. But of course I do expect a blowout.

Jim Rome!

What the hell are you talking about?

Did they just call illegal touching on the Jests??

Was Favre wearing his little red shorts? -
Don't worry, you won't stick out. I don't think they sell Cardinals gear out there either.

**Bills vs. Raiders OFFICIAL Game Thread**
Acantha replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan 2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Defense seems to be holding up, Offense is flat, and ST is killing us. My hope right now is that we get to half time in good shape. I feel like we need the time to get the adjustments in and wake everyone up. -
It's amazing how much trust everyone has in snopes. Not that their wrong, I just think it's funny. Snopes could tell us the "earth moves around the sun" thing is made up, and that would be that.

Just got done watching the first two episodes. So far I'd say, not bad. Not great, but enough that I'll give it a shot. Some thoughts: - Obviously reality is completely blown out of the water. Hopefully that's the "plan", because if their intent is to be a bit more X-Files-ish (completely unrealistic, but done and explained in a way that actually makes you think it could possibly happen), they are WAY off base. If it's planned, and you know what you're getting into at the beginning, it's alright. It's okay to watch a show that creates it's own world, but I can't tell yet if that's what they are trying to do. There are too many cues to the contrary, which worries me. - The acting seemed to be much better in the second episode. The old guy is good. He does the mentally unstable thing in a pretty convincing way. I don't mind the Pace (sorry, too lazy to look his name up) character so far, but it's going to get old real quick. Hopefully the writers don't try to stick with the "sarcastic disbelief" thing for too long. After seeing the things he has seen in just the first two episodes, he should have a completely open mind very quickly. The Scully character worked once, it won't work again, not in his character anyway. The woman? While gorgeous, she's not convincing me yet. I"m holding off judgment on her. Her boss is a horrible character and hopefully they have plans to give him some growth very quickly. The no emotion bit character NEVER works. Hopefully they make him a part of the story and give him something decent to work with. - They seem to have taken the Star Trek way out of plot lines. No matter what the problem is, in this world there is a technology that can conquer it. Not sure if that's a good thing. - I think the show has promise and could be good if it's done right. Since it's on FOX, I have every expectation it will never get that chance. - All the points above are obviously based on just the two episodes, and most will probably get cleared up (for better or worse) during the first 6-8 episodes or so.
