  1. Agreed.
  2. How could one not be? EDIT: Unless of course you're a minority. He was....blunt in his beliefs.
  3. Only if you're only watching highlight clips of the QB's the "experts" tell you to. If the Bills were looking for a QB next season, I'd take Tony Pike in a heartbeat. And that's with every other QB on the board. If Jake Locker comes out, he's going to be another talented pick. Snead? He's playing horrible ball right now, but last year he showed that he is capable of much more. Certainly not too late to get out of whatever funk he's in. There's more to these guys than individual games.
  4. Lux Aeterna (one of my all time favorites)
  5. Apparently there were lot of players we wanted to draft in the 5th round.
  6. That's what I think is funny about this thread. People act as if football isn't fun. Maybe it's not fun to you, but that doesn't mean other don't enjoy it. If watching/going to football games is a chore, then you're not a fan(atic). And at that point, who cares?
  7. Because the poll is done by humans, not computers. Wins/Losses play a big part of course, but so does actual team talent. If they played 10 times, USC beat GT at least 9. It's not such a stretch. This is weird year anyway. It seems like almost everyone (teams and conferences) are playing sub par ball. There really doesn't seem to be any elite teams right now, and there is a huge drop off between the top few/maybe 5 teams and the rest of the league. Bowl games are going to be up in the air all year.
  8. Made me think of Good Morning Vietnam. And on a totally unrelated not (maybe to the whole thread), just because I saw this the other day:
  9. Really? There's like 5 articles about it on TBD, 5 threads about it on TSW, and it's plastered on BB.com.
  10. If that's the case, it shows very little faith in Omon. He played well in pre-season, but has only been given the ball 4 times so far (4.3 ypc). Why keep him if they're not going to play him? He was great in college, but I never really saw him play in the pro's. Must not have transitioned well, but he's probaby still worth a chance.
  11. I tuned in a few times but had to keep changing the channel after a few minutes. Didn't matter which team was on the field, the announcers had the QB's balls in their mouths. Ridiculous.
  12. The internet draws attention to every word that gets typed out (Twitter being proof of that). Good writing can be found, probably in the about the same number as before. It's just that now everything is able to be read in every market. Makes it harder to find the good. And of course on internet message boards it's far more fun to ridicule the the bad stuff anyway.
  13. While unnecessary IMO, jewlery can be sold. There are plenty of ways to completely burn through money, but jewelry is basically a commodity that is only going to lose a small amount of value short term, and can gain value long term. It's not exactly irresponsible. Insult? Give me a break. What people spend their money on is their business. I do agree that there is no reason to feel sorry for these guys later in life (speaking more specifically of players from about the last 20 years or so). But Donte isn't asking for handouts, so drawing comparisons from what he is doing with his life and other bankrupt former players is asinine.
  14. Lot's of things could be said, but I assume this just ridiculous trolling.
  15. While I'm not an Ellison hater like a lot of people, given his weakness in the passing game, I think he's a liability out there next week. I'd like to see Youboty in the game matched up against Shockey. We've gotten torched by TE touchdowns two weeks in a row; Shockey is sure to get a lot of looks. Youboty is physical enough to help against the run and has shown promise blitzing. I also think we see that standing DL set-up they like to run (I can't recall the name of the formation), with different guys falling back in coverage and blitzing (DL and LB). I think if we leave the safeties deep, press the WR's, try to keep Shockey out of game, and give them different looks from the front, it could be enough to slow them down.
  16. They really need to get Omon in there a bit more. I know he's not the game-breaker Jackson is but, especially with the no-huddle, having a a guy who can pound the ball up the middle isn't a bad thing. Late in today's game, Omon got the ball twice and pounded 2 four yard runs. I really thought had they left him in there they could have pushed it in. I'm not sure how he is at blocking, but Jackson is getting pounded doing so much on his own.
  17. Andy Staples called it. And again, if it's so difficult to not put spoilers in the title, go to the college board. It's a whole board set up for just that thing!! But I understand, you can't grandstand and get as many hits to your thread over there. Really strikes the old ego.
  18. They need to kick Lou off of ESPN at this point. Do you see him every week arguing for ND? It's gotten to the point of ridiculous. Even after last week, he won't give it up. I really hope they lost today, just to see him melt down.
  19. Looking at the replay from NFL rewind (better quality), this is what I see: 1. The lines (red showing the line of scrimmage and yellow showing first down) are exactly where the sticks are. 2. The original spot of the ball (and the new red line when the Pats are originally lining up) is pretty much exactly where Welker landed, which was half a yard shy. 3. The Ref definitely picks up the ball, wipes it off, and puts it down half a yard further down the field. 4. At the same time he is doing this, the chain gang are moving the sticks. They didn't wait for him to move it first, then move the sticks. He must have called first down, then adjusted the ball to make it official. Also, the same ref that originally makes the correct spot moves the ball to the new spot, so there wasn't a different call that over ruled the original spot. 5. The two side refs are lined up on the ball (original spot), and as they're backing up to the sidelines, move over a yard to line up at the new spot. What all that means...no idea.
  20. When it comes to mindless drivel, you never disappoint.
  21. I'm still trying to figure out why the cop was orange.
  22. Should have added another 9 seconds of instruction.
  23. Almost Famous
