  1. And I doubt you have any reason to ... were you watching Clements his entire time as a Bill? Did you play football in highschool in highschool or college? Or are you one of those guys who watch it on TV, hear the announcers say Clements missed a tackle and then jump on him for it? Or are you one of those guys who think Clements wasnt covering Roy Williams because the coaches dont think he could, not knowing football knowledge enough to know that a CB plays his SIDE, not his player? Or are you one of those guys who dont realize that we have NO ONE even close to his caliber to replace him and will most likely have to waste a draft pick to get another CB even though we have more than enough money to re-sign him? Just wondering.
  2. I would say their window is closing if they dont win it after next season ... One off-season usually doesnt kill a player. Especially a great player like Harrison. Freeney will be re-signed. Until they lose more than 3-4 games in a season I dont think we can see their window is closing shut. Heck their 43-10 in the past 3 1/4 seasons. Thats insane. The best thing about the Colts is that even if Harrison slows down, they still have Wayne and Stokley and also a young running back who looks like he could be star someday (Joseph Addai)
  3. Thats the whole point! We will have enough money to sign Clements AND sign our draft picks AND sign a few OL/DL to improve. We have the money so why not sign Clements instead of having to waste a draft one? Think about that. Thats another view at it. Maybe he is not going to play to full potention until he gets the contract he thinks he deserves? probably not, but an interesting theory ...
  4. This has got me and my dad going crazy ... Buffalo finally has a GREAT pro team (since the 90's Bills) ... not a "good" team but a GREAT team.
  5. How is their window closing? Im pretty sure all the big names on that team are signed for at least the next 2 seasons.
  6. It was actually for a 2nd round pick and his salary ... im glad the Bills and Marv Levy arent as foolish as some Bills fans on this board. Giving up a 2nd round pick for a DT who is worth nearly 6 million against the cap for a CB who is worth 7 million. Personally I think a CB is worth more than a DT.
  7. Actually yeah . more of like a value thing though thus how Spikes came to us from a horrid Cinci team .. we saw the value in him and how he won his aspect of the game did you ever play highschool or college ball? you will hear coaches talking about this all the time
  8. HAHAHA .. you base your judgement on such a short period of time. 1. A-train only plays about 2 snaps a game thus he is not tired. Willis plays the entire game ... he gets tired 2. A-train has only ran the ball 10 times (and you base your judgement off of that) if you take away his ONE long run he has 19 yards on 9 carries for a wopping 2 ypc you sir , dont know what your talking about
  9. I couldnt think of one at the time ... still cant. He won every aspect of the QB's game ... thus HE is 2-0 .... the line won ALMOST every aspect of their game ... they won ... etc Rackers lost his aspect of the game Special Teams lost their aspect of the game
  10. Price had ONE good catch in a game (minnesota), reed hasnt done anything since week 2, davis couldnt run fast enough to win the game last week, and aiken who? havent seen him since training camp ...
  11. If nate is gone then you will be stabbing your eye because we will be about 25 mill under the cap and with only other teams scraps and draftees to sign.
  12. The point of it making the highlight reals is because it WAS an amazing catch that no CB in the league could have stopped
  13. Right. You guys all made my point. Im a huge Losman supporter and always have been. I just dont like it when people put down other QB's just to support Losman. Losman has won his aspect of the game in many of the BIlls losses.
  14. TE - how do you know theyre good? Are you on the Bills scouting squad? WR - the strongest in the league? your on drugs ... reggie williams and stallworth for philly ... T.O. and Glenn for Dallas ... Randy Moss and Jerry Porter (under-utilized) for Oakland ... Roy Williams and Mike Williams for Detroit ... Deion Branch and Jackson for Seattle ... Fitzgerald and Boldin for Arizona, Harrison, Stokley, and Wayne for Indi and the list can go on. We have a decent WR corps but not the best in the league
  15. Whether you believe it or not, Willis is a darn good RB and a "marquee" RB at that ... he has been in the top 5 for 4 straight weeks (2 of those weeks being #1 in the NFL) and is still only about 30 yards behind the leader right now. Give Willis a good line and he would be in the lead by over 100 yards.
  16. I agree with almost everything you said except for Tripplet. He already made a name for himself in Indianapolis and to Colts fans he would be the equivalent of Nate Clements to a lot of you guys. Liked by other teams, but not liked by the fans of the current team.
  17. I think Ryan Leaf started out 2-2 and JP's first start was not great. It was OK ... he had a little over 150 yards and an easy lob TD to a defensive player playing on offense against HOUSTON.
  18. In my opinion yes ... you as a player simply have to give all you can and play the best you can. Leinart played a near perfect game. He did the best he could. He as a player WON his aspect of the game. The team lost their aspect of the game (more like Neil Rackers). Such as have you heard people say you need 2 out of 3 to win the game? Defense, offense, special teams. Only 2 units need to win for you to win. Leinart won his aspect.
  19. To not use the cap space is foolish IMO .. in fact the last time we went to the playoffs was when we were in cap trouble ... remember that? Coincidence. I think not. In fact according to the projected 2006 salary cap space for each team the top 5 teams with most space currently have a record of 9-16 (.360 pct) ... the top 10 teams record is 27-25 (.519 pct) ... the top 15 teams record is 43-38 (.530 pct) OK. Now do you want to hear the record of the teams who have LESS than 10 million in free space ... 21-12 (.636 pct) How about teams with LESS than 9 million in free space? 20-7 (.740 pct) And the only 2 teams in the league with 0 cap space you might ask? The NE Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts with a combined record of 9-1 (.900 pct) Looks like the teams who use their cap space do quite well huh? Speaking of contracts, the Islanders gave their goalie Rick DiPietro a 15 year, guaranteed 67.5 million dollar contract. Holy crap ... and the guy is 'average' at best the article says. Jeez.
  20. His record is 2-0 ... the Cardinals are 1-5 He played the best he could have possibly played. His team let him down.
  21. So instead we go into next season with 10-12 million in free cap space and a secondary with toast McGee as our #1 CB and a bunch of 2nd year players behind him? 10-12 mill in wasted cap space is idiocy. I can tell you watch the games on TV ... if you go to a game PLEASE watch Clements every defensive play. You will see what I mean. You only notice him on TV when he does something bad. You dont see every other play when he is doing everything right.
  22. I turned on ESPN and ESPN2 ... I guess I wasnt in time.
  23. Thats pretty cool. Always seemed like an interesting profession.
