And I think what other people are saying is that it would be WRONG for ESPN to NOT have had such dominant coverage on Reggie Bush. He was one of the best/most dynamic/most fun college RB's in the history of college football. They did what they were suppose to.
What I dont get is how people are in love with Maroney and bash Bush. Dont get me wrong ... Maroney has the looks of a star RB in the league very soon, but lets just look at this real quick.
People love to mention Maroney's 8.3 YPC against Cincinnati or his 5.1 YPC against Buffalo ... Both teams in the BOTTOM 15 of rushing defenses in the NFL.
What people dont like to mention is his 2.1, 1.5, and 3.6 YPC games. He had one long run of 41 yards. Take that away and he is averaging around 3.7 YPC for the year.
Receiving stats ... Bush is on pace for 96 receptions for about 700 yards.
Maroney is on pace for about 21 receptions for about 250 yards.
Then im sure someone will bring up the fact that Maroney has had a couple good kick returns this year and looks to be a great return specialist ... these people probably didnt realize that Bush has been returning punts, averaging nearly 11 yards a punt return, and a TD. Of players who have 15 or more return attempts this season he is ranked 5th in the NFL.
