So what happens to the market when this goes down? The first thing is that every CB's asking price goes up $1M. Sure - but since this doesn't affect the salary cap, there's no change in the amount of money out there for free agents. So something has to come down in response - is it just spread out over all the other positions?
I don't think it does. Since Asomugha is so much better than the FA corners, how can they argue they deserve more money based on a single players performance? Plus look who's giving out the deal...Looney Davis. I think this is an isolated contract in terms of the big money...Until another player of his caliber arrives, but players that good don't come very often.

Yeah, but I think Thigpen threw at him something like 19 times. Tyler Thigpen has a one track mind at QB, and it's Tony Gonzales. Also, a lot of that was in garbage time.
Go back and watch, it's not in garbage time by any means.

I have to agree......I don't understand why the Bills fans get all excited about the draft. Other than Lee Evans, every first round pick goes on to either be a bust or leave via Free Agency. The trend started well before Modrak got here.

Why would the Panthers want to get rid of Delhomme, for Cassel? What has Cassel proven in the NFL? And the Panthers drafted Brian Brohm in the 2nd round last year.

Jose, I was actually replying to the original poster. I can see how you thought my response was directed towards you though...no big deal.
And yes that was my point about Dallas' draft pick situation. They already gave up their 1st, 3rd, and 6th I believe to the Lions for Roy Williams. I don't see how they could pull that off. Cap space didn't even enter my mind.
